The arena was split into three parts. One filled with a sweet flowery fragrance, one filled with extreme cold temperature, and one filled with an extreme hot temperature. In the next moment, a clanging sound began to ring. A young but chubby man walked onto the stage with tons of gold jewelry on him. If you looked into his eyes, you would even see a slight golden glow in the depths of them.
"You all really put on a great show walking up onto the stage, I truly can't compete! Hence, I'll have to make up for it during the fight." A smirk rose onto his face before he continued, "Golden pupil faction, Liu Yan." He walked up onto the stage while his golden robes fluttered behind him which split the arena into 4.
From the other corner of the eye, one could see an extremely handsome young man with a slender but muscular body dressed in purple robes walk onto the arena platform. He made eye contact with the other four contestants before walking to the side and quietly placing his hands together before speaking with a loud but monotone voice, "Black Jade Faction, Hei Fengjue"
Zhou Feng rose his palm and the shield formed again. "begin"
Huo mingliang nodded towards yu qingsu and dashed to Liu yan before he sent out a palm aimed at his vitals. Liu yan dodged just in time and chuckled, "out of the 4 of us you decided to pick me, what a fool." He made eye contact with Huo mingliang and sent out a soul attack.
In reality, though soul attacks were uncommon in the zhou sect since powerful souls were unseen in this territory which made Liu yan's soul attack very 'unique', his soul power was very weak compared to real soul cultivation geniuses of his age.
On the other side of the arena, Yu qingsu and Hua li were battling it out. Yu qingsu's ice arts covered her fists while she punched at Hua li's meridians and vital areas. Hua li used confusion fragrances to try and mess up yu qingsu's senses while simultaneously using movement techniques to dodge and run around yu qingsu's body.
"Ice manifesto - crystallus spear!"
"Flower qi manipulation - defensive form!"
Both people spun and clashed five times while twirling back and forth.
"Sister qingsu is very powerful, but it looks like I must offend you" Hua li jumped onto two large petals and her speed increased dramatically and began to overwhelm yu qingsu.
"Ice manifesto - total crystallization first form" Ice cold qi rumbled inside of yu qingsu's meridians and gushed out of them and created a shockwave which froze and shattered the petals under Hua li's body. "Mere tricks"
Yu qingsu and Hua li once again engaged in a brutal but elegant face off meeting fist with fist and palm with palm spinning around the left side of the arena. At the last minute yu qingsu unexpectedly summoned the ice spear and twirled around. Caught off guard, Hua li was unable to dodge and was inches away from being stabbed in the stomach. "AIYAH I ADMIT DEFEAT!"
In the air zhou feng's voice rang out "Hua Li ranked 5th"
In the next moment, yu qingsu began to walk towards huo mingliang and Liu yan's battle in which huo mingliang was fighting the soul attack with all his power and Liu yan had his eyes closed controlling the soul attack.
A voice spoke from behind her, "Did you forget about me?" Hei fengjue's purple robes fluttered in the wind as he turned his head to look at yu qingsu's face. Dark purple qi erupted from his body sending tiny shockwaves throughout the arena.

"Huo mingliang, stop being so stubborn, nobody in the body tempering stage has been able to escape my soul attacks. Even Hei fengjue would have some problems with it." Liu yan laughed and sent an uppercut to huo mingliang's chin. With a tiny sliver of willpower remaining, Huo mingliang moved his hand to block the punch while still bearing the immense pain in his head. "Huh? How are you still able to move??"
Huo mingliang looked up only to be seen having flames of determination in his eyes. He grabbed the hand Liu yan had sent out to punch and began to twist it while increasing the temperature of his hand to a terrifying level.
Liu yan started to make a groan of pain before he whispered, "first grade soul attack- pupil manipulation " and stared into Huo Mingliang's eyes.

Yu qingsu sent out multiple ice spears hoping to stall for time in case Huo mingliang could break free and help her defeat Hei fengjue. However, every spear was vaporized with a flick of Hei fengjue's wrist.
"Ice manifesto - total crystallization second form!" Yu Qingsu's body became encircled with crystal like ice spheres which contained a fatal explosive power for those under the 8th level of body tempering stage. She then looked up to find Hei fengjue not impressed and having only an indifferent expression.
She strategically began using the orbs while running around Hei fengjue as to try to overwhelm him with her attacks. Each time she sent out an orb, Hei fengjue released a thin stream of purple qi to wrap around the orbs and bring them into his control.
"This man is crazy" yu qingsu wrinkled her brows with a worried gaze.

Huo mingliang's mind and soul was currently as chaotic and violent as the inside of an erupting volcano. His soul was too weak to handle the power of an elementary soul attack never mind a soul attack of the first grade. Hence, after a couple more minutes of enduring, he began to lose control of his body and blood leaked out of his eyes.
"Liu yan, I have walked here from the damned royal capital on my own two feet and trained constantly only to be defeated by you. All I can say is that although you disgust me, your power is sufficient. I can only take this as a warning that my power is still nowhere near enough. I admit defeat" Huo mingliang spoke in a monotone voice before volunteering to walk off the arena.
"Huo mingliang ranked 4th"
Hei fengjue turned his body to look at the extremely disheveled yu qingsu who now had traces of despair on her face.
"I will fight till the end.." yu qingsu spoke
Liu yan appeared behind Hei fengjue before also speaking, "then I'm afraid that it's time for the end."
Hei fengjue sent out the previously captured ice orbs to pick at yu qingsu like vultures preying on a dead body. Yu qingsu took out her spear and slashed at the orbs only to be thrown back with the explosion of each orb before finally falling off the arena in a depressing manner.
Liu yan happily looked at Hei fengjue and chuckled "I admit defeat"
"Yu qingsu ranked 3rd"
"Liu Yan ranked 2nd"
"Hei fengjue ranked 1st"
