On one of the islands named cocoyashi alastair came across his first main character in the form of a small red headed toddler and her sister with blue hair being cared for by a middle aged women. alastair couldn't help himself as he gave the little redhead a small golden coin and watched as her eyes shined at the little treasure. alastair laughed as nami acted cute in order to sucker him out of more treasures but bell-mere stopped that immediately. the ex-marine looked at alastair warily as she could tell at once that he was powerful.
"What is someone like you doing here?" she asked seriously. alastair looked at her confused "like me?" he asked curiously. "your strength is far to high for these seas so why are you here?" she asked again with a bit more explanation. "ah , that would be because i'm on an adventure to really experience this world and this is merely my first stop." alastair said with a wide grin. bell-mere scoffed "so another pirate then." she said with disdain. "not a pirate more an explorer actually." alastair said honestly. "i don't see the difference between you lawless people." she said with a scoff.
"Well first off i follow the law quite closely I'll have you know and secondly i have no interest in the one piece." alastair said matter of factly which brought a look of shock to bell-meres face. "do you even know what your saying!" she asked loudly in shock. it was alastairs turn to scoff "of course i do , do you what the person who eventually gets that treasure gets? money , infamy and every person in the world gunning for them. you couldn't convince me to chase that source of trouble if you had a thousand years to try." alastair said seriously.
Bell-mere looked at alastair seriously for a moment before sighing. "i am sorry for calling you a pirate , with thoughts like that you couldn't be farther from that lot." she said honestly. "but if you aren't after the one piece what are you after?" she asked seriously. alastair shook his head "tell me how much of this worlds amazing things have you experienced?" alastair asked calmly. she paused for a moment to consider the question before answering with "probably very little." alastair nodded "i want to experience all those amazing things from the strange foods to the awe inspiring sights , all of it."
Bell-mere considered alastairs words and smiled "a grand goal maybe even larger than chasing that accursed treasure." she said honestly. "and now you see the difference between me and those pirates who go on grand journeys with that treasure as the goal. for me the journey itself IS my goal." alastair grinned widely. after that bell-mere didn't have any issues with alastair minus her distaste for him having three wives which he explained was entirely their fault. this caused the women to laugh including bell-mere. the group left the island chain a few days later after alastair left a fruit seed from erdrea for bell-mere.
The group sailed for about a day before parking their ship at the midpoint to goa kingdom and spent a few days exploring the bottom of the sea in this area. while bellow the wave the group found their first sea king that was a massive green fish. apparently marina's status as a mermaid queen made the sea king fairly friendly despite it openly mentioning sinking the noisy boats sometimes. how did they know what the sea king was saying you ask? well it turns out that the translation magic worked on all forms of language including sea king.
After looting a few sunken ships and even finding another devil fruit in one the group sailed towards the goa kingdom. the devil fruit they found was a strange one called the mind mind fruit which seemed to bring out the full potential of its eaters brain according to the encyclopedia. none of them had any interest in the fruit despite its high utility and so they stored it in the vault. once they reached the goa kingdom that was truly grand looking alastair sheathed metalbane on his hip for appearances.
What alastair didn't realize was that the moment he brought metal bane out of his inventory all of the swords in the world started shaking. this happened because in the world of one piece metal bane was a sword of the highest possible tier making it supreme tier. when all the other twelve supreme tier swords were made similar phenomena also happened. high above the ground a thirteenth star appeared definitively proving the emergence of the thirteenth supreme sword. the world erupted into chaos at this event and the various powers started to move immediately to find the new sword each for various different reasons.
