Chapter 26 - 26. Limitless Imagination

"We have to give the presumption of innocence before making any unproven conclusions. In my opinion, all cases you handle always have loopholes and the potential for betrayal. Nonetheless, I agree to start with your investigation," Hendra pointedly looked at Vian, "Regarding the people who were present on the D floor when it happened. Where was everyone when the explosion happened?"

Listening closely to their boss. Vian brought the blueprint of the D floor, opening it before the four of them. Seeing it for the first time, Mahendra squinted his eyes, roaming on every single detail on the blueprint. The other three were familiar with the room itself, there was no need for them to look closer like their boss.

All in all, Hendra was impressed. It was quite insane to know the blueprint, which was more appropriate to be called a masterpiece. Of course, it was the fruit of Riswan's creative designs. He succeeded to applied Wryo's limitless imagination into a blueprint, until they managed to build the mysterious and highly functioning D floor.

Hendra studied the blueprint again.

The D floor was an underground room that could be accessed through three entrances. The first one, obviously, could be accessed through the elevator at the Wenceslas Ritz hotel. The second one was through the basement of Wenceslas Group's subsidiary headquarters. The third entrance was located between both buildings, right under an elite housing complex built by Wenceslas Construction, most likely connected through an underground tunnel, just like the second entrance. Most of the residents there probably work for Wenceslas Group.

It was also not a stretch that the D floor people lived there. Because Leona also lived there, that one time Hendra looked for Tania. That also reminded him about the damaged car that became the evidence of his grandfather's accident. Now, he knew how they brought it in.

.

The meeting lasted for hours, nearing midnight.

Vian had reported where each of the D floor's leaders were when the explosion happened. Thomas, the leader of the External Affair, seemed to be in his office, because he suffered the most severe injury compared to the others. Raka apparently was in the training room, but then he was running to Vian's office after he heard that the CCTVs were off simultaneously when the electricity in Vian's office was dead. Raka's injury was quite grave, but not as bad as Thomas's.

Meanwhile, Pradita was not at the D floor when it happened. He hurried there once his subordinate reported about the sabotage done to their CCTVs. It was not a long wait, as he stayed at one of the rooms on Wenceslas Ritz hotel's first floor. From his quick investigation, he found that several cables connecting the main server were cut. He then hurried to the semi-circular room where he used the big data analytic he made with his team to control and minimize the explosion. Thanks to that, he managed to limit the damage to not go further than Vian's room. That was why he was initially reported as missing amongst the chaos.

After minimizing the damage, he then exited through the second entrance, as the semi-circular room was right under the subsidiary headquarter's basement. He suffered minor injury, the smallest one if compared to the other division leaders on the D floor.

Vian, on the other hand, was expected by the perpetrator. The perp apparently knew about his schedule and noticed that Vian would be visiting his family's graves. The perp waited for him to not be present on the D floor. He hurried there when everyone was running out of the D floor. Right there and then, he ordered his subordinates to check the register and close all entrances to the D floor except the one through the basement. That way, he could check anyone who exited through the basement.

Hendra carefully listened to what Vian said without interrupting. Different from both Wiryo and Andos who asked some questions through Vian's explanation. His blue eyes were scrutinizing Vian, trying to discern everything as well as searching if there was any indication of dishonesty. He wanted to make his own conclusion, whether he could trust Vian's words or not.

Then, they decided that the first step to do was to renovate the D floor. Even if the underground floor was unscratched, aside from Vian and Thomas' offices, they need it to be functional.

Afterwards, Hendra would visit Riswan, as he was the only one he deemed qualified to lead the renovation. Both because it had to be done as fast as possible, and because of its unique secrecy born from Riswan's ingenious designs.

No wonder, each of the Dream City buildings' design drafts were revised over and over. Riswan even completely rejected some of the designs. He would not lower his expectations, even when the architects were his own close subordinates.

Hendra was quite exhausted after spontaneously tagging along on his grandfather's agenda. It was past midnight, early morning, to be exact. The blue eyed man then put back his suit jacket and grabbed his car keys in his left hand. He wanted to meet his wife now. Perhaps, she was chatting with her parents and brother, trying to calm each other while waiting for the first grandchild in her family. He really wished he were there with her.

His arrival surely would cause a different atmosphere. Likely, Anantha would still be awkward around him. However, Hendra would no longer be the guilty one. Anantha was. No doubt, it would be pretty funny to see how Anantha acts then.

In contrast, his father-in-law would welcome him with open arms. On their last encounter, Lesmana had said something that made Hendra truly happy. Lesmana finally gave his blessing. With the green light from said father-in-law, Hendra would have all of Aruna. And so, he headed out with a light spring in his steps, a faint smile plastered on his face.

.

"Where are you going?" Wiryo's voice rumbled, once again destroying Hendra's joyful wishing.

The blue eyed man sighed tiredly, turning to face his grandfather, "I go wherever I want, it's none of your business. I don't want to argue with you any further. I know you're tired, so am I," he huffed.

"You should rest if you are tired," Wiryo reminded after ordering Andos to make sure that the front door of the main house was locked, "Not wandering around like a wayward teenager."

Hendra took off his suit jacket in disappointment, clearly upset. He was tempted to throw his jacket to the back of Wiryo's head as he maneuvered the wheelchair to retreat to his room. He would truly do so if he was the same man from before, the one who hasn't had the pleasure of knowing Aruna.

"Your grandfather just wants you to rest, don't get angry at him," Andos patted his back, a genuine smile on his face, which truthfully looked odd on his usually quite scary face, "For God's sake, it's two in the morning Hendra. You can go there after you rest, that's what your grandfather wanted to say."

Calmed by Andos' more appreciated words, Hendra complied.
