Adrik took continuous deep breaths, and slowly he blinked his eyes open. He clutched his aching head and removed the towel placed on his forehead. Then he carefully sat up and proceeded to stand up from the bed, but the moment he did, dizziness struck him, causing him to sit back down on the bed. He took a long, subtle breath before standing up again, and thankfully, he didn't fall this time.
He staggered towards the door and pushed it open, then stepped out and made his way to the living room, where he saw Mia seated on the sofa, her eyes fixed on the phone in her hand.
He effortfully walked towards her, and the moment she noticed him, she quickly stood up from the couch and hurried towards him. She tried to help him walk to the couch and sit down, but he shook his head at her with a half-smile on his lips. "No need, I can do it by myself. Just help me with some water, please," he said and walked to the chair to seat himself down.
