He stepped down from the car and moved towards the entrance, then stepped in and shut the door behind him. A low breath exited his nose and he glanced around. "Mum!" He called out to her as he couldn't find her anywhere in the living room.
"Son..." Mrs. Robert's voice resounded as she strolled out of her room to the stairs. A wide smile emerged on her face on seeing Shawn, and without any hesitation, she hurried down to him and pulled him into a tight warm hug. "I missed you, son. Where have you been?" She examined his body and placed a soft kiss on his forehead.
"I'm fine, mum. I just stayed this few days with a friend, that's all." Shawn smiled at her and she nodded with motherly love in her eyes. "Mum... can I talk to you for a moment?"
"Of course." Mrs. Robert nodded, and together they walked to sit down on the couch. A deep breath exited Shawn's nose, and he turned his head to face her, then interlocked his hands.
