In Greek mythology, Asclepius is the God of Healing, he is the son of Apollo, from what I read, he has a serpent with him, so maybe that's the reason why hospitals have such logos.

The whole story my mother told me, my father's family wanted me to be a doctor in the future so they named it after me.

I slowly rinsed my hand with lukewarm water and I took a tissue to the side of the sink to dry my hands. Then, I lifted my face mask and put on these very tight gloves again, while my co-worker helped me put on my gown.

Now, I'm ready to dive inside.

When I enter, the first thing that I will always see is the electronic vital signs monitor and the patient who is lying in the center of the room. I looked at the patient and I noticed that the area around his wounds was already pale, it is because of the glasses. There is also ecchymosis, a deeply large purple skin on his side. It looked like the ambulance got the patient too late.

-Sigh...

"What else can you expect here in the Philippines, there is always traffic."

"It was as if the atmosphere in the room suddenly became cold and quiet, maybe I'm not the only one who noticed."

I suddenly said it softly to myself.

He's our surgery team leader, when stressful things happen, he will handle the circumstances to help us. He wears glasses and he has some wrinkles in his forehead, maybe because he's a workaholic person, but he is still handsome.

Anyway…We're now starting our surgery.

Since we will perform Exploratory Laparotomy to the patient, we will need to make a large incision in the skin of the abdomen and carefully explore it.

After 2 hours...

We will now seal the ends of any leaking blood vessels with a heat probe or suture material. 

"It takes longer than I thought, since it's severe,  we did the surgery twice the time it should take."

We ended the surgery successfully, now we should clean ourselves and rest.

While washing my hands I said..

-Ugh! I'm so tired. 

-Why did you go to work today? You should be enjoying your day.

"Huh? Did the team leader just talk to me casually? We never talk casually inside the hospital, well we also barely talk to each other outside since he loves to work so much, but how did he know that it's my birthday today?

After that incident, I didn't realize the trend of time, maybe because I was also tired after the surgeries today.

This book is the type that is popular with teenagers so I used to want to read it. Now I still want to read it but it's not like before, I'm reading it because I feel like I forget something if I don't.

Things are happening so fast so I'm not in the right frame of mind, I don't know why that's happening but I don't want to blame the driver because I heard in his voice that he's so scared and he's already panicking. I couldn't   calm him down because I was so scared. I just held my book and I just clung so tightly to my seat belt.

I was shocked when the driver lost control of the steering wheel because he was dazzled by the brightness of the headlights. That light got bigger and bigger until it reached the back seat so I covered my eyes as well.

I just stared when I could see where the light in front of us came from, that's when I knew we were late. 

There was a big truck in front of us that we were going to crash into. I didn't do anything because I didn't know what to do if I still had time to jump off the car or if I would just close my eyes.

After the twenty second incident, I was out of the car but I was just lying down on the road because I couldn't move my hand to stand up, I couldn't even see clearly what was in front of me.

If I looked on my side, there were lights on the car and it smelled burning. I could no longer see the driver in the taxi I was riding in, but even though I could no longer move and my body was weakening, I knew I was still holding the book I was reading.

"Is this my last day? on my birthday? haha ... I haven't even been able to buy my own car, I haven't even had the experience of dating and I still have plans for my birthday."
