Char's dark tanned skin glistened with sweat. It was a particularly hot day. However, what would make any onlooker rub their eyes in disbelief was something else entirely.
For, on the outline of his body, milky spots would dance around. Few there were and far spread out, yet those spots caressed Char's body. Some flew off and some came on, but the number on his body was always roughly equal.
Char had already gotten over the fact that he was now spotted. A few days ago, he had turned his head and almost jumped when he learned of this.
Now, a few days later, he felt nothing for this change and was quite bored.
What bothered Char most was that his temper seemed to be getting worse. He would, at times, stomp the floor in frustration or even shout angry profanities at the sky whenever his stomach's roar was particularly fierce.
To solve such problems, Char recalled that meditation was often advised in his previous life.
Thus, he sat up. Having laid down for so long, he met a few stars before his head relented.
He sat on his 'bed' in order to have a flat ground, crossed his legs and straightened his back. Soon, he started a slow and rhythmic breathing, closed his eyes and cleared his mind.
He stayed like this for a few hours, though foreign thoughts had invaded just 10 minutes after beginning. Nonetheless, he had nothing better to do and so just let it happen. Occasionally, he would try to clear his mind again, sometimes succeeding, sometimes not.
Char continued with this for the next few days, establishing a routine of sorts. His concentration had increased from a mere 10 minutes to 20 minutes 2 days later.
Just 1 day before he would redeem a useful tier reward again, his concentration had reached 1 hour in length. Char had managed to also reign in his bad temper and no longer stomped the floor or cursed at the sky.
The milky droplets that covered him had also increased in quantity as he meditated. Char had tried asking the system about this but had received no reply. 'Is the system sleeping?' Char pondered.
[The system never sleeps] came the swift reply.
"And you don't feel bored?" he enquired.
[The system does not feel] came the disappointing reply.
"Figures" Char grumbled, losing hope of a chatting companion. The system might not be bored, but he was. Extremely so.
Not in the mood to meditate, Char lay down again and awaited the next day.
