" Are there others? " Elena asked with a serious and curious look.
Alisha stood up and motioned for her to follow.
In the basement. Alisha and Elena stood opposite of each other. Doing the same thing she did to the fire. She stretched out her hand and opened her palm. Slowly another ball formed, with it carrying a gust of wind. Next was a blue ball with droplets falling yet not at the same time. Then brown, as it showed land and dirt. Elena looked at them in fascination.
" So that means you can control 4 elements? "
" Yes "
" Is there more? "
Alisha nodded. With her other hand, she did the same. This time chirping sound was heard, then a lightning in a form of ball appeared. Elena panicked but seeing Alisha calm, she soon calmed too. Not long before another one appeared. This one was a ball of light. Next to it was a black ball. The last one was ice, though it did not came out as a ball but a small spike.
" Woah "
Elena looked impressed. Which made Alisha for some reason proud.
Elena noticed the marks like tatoos in her wrist up to her neck. She poke them and asked;
" What is this? "
" Markings "
" Uhuh, what do they do though? "
" Enhance my physical and mental attribute "
" Hmm, so that means your super strong now and you can read other peoples mind "
Alisha nodded.
Elena went in deep thought. If Alisha can do magic and has enhanced attributes. The does that mean she can fly?
Elena looked at her friend. " Can you fly? "
Alisha shrugged her shoulders. But still concentrated. Elena watched her friend focus. Not long. She went wide eyes at what she saw. Alisha was floating. Her feet did not touch the ground. Elena watched again as Alisha swiftly fly around for a full minute. Then she landed back to her position.
" Guess I can fly "
Alisha waited for a response but what she got was silence. She looked at front and saw Elena stand there frozen.
" Huh...It looks like I broke her "
Deciding to rest for the day. She picked up Elena in a princess carry. If she was aware of it, she would be squeeling. But she was still in a daze. Alisha set her on the left side of the bed and used her magic to make her fall asleep. There were a lot more she can do. But for now, she'll stop there. Alisha was not in a hurry. She looked at her friend's sleeping face. She still could not help but be drawn to it. Her feelings changed when Elena did not stop pestering her when they were kids. Elena was there when she needed a companion. Alisha did not talk to anyone at that time. Yet Elena always knows what she wants.
And for the longest time. Alisha had a smile. A genuine one. If Elena sees it, she would definitely throw a celebration. Laying down, she hugged Elena's back and fell asleep.
Next morning. Both woke up refreshed. They ate in silence, as usual. At some point, Elena asked a question that has been bugging her from the start.
" How did you get them? "
Alisha looked confused. So she asked again;
" Your powers, how did you get them and since when? "
Alisha nodded. She looked back at the plate she was washing. They just finished eating and since there was nothing else to do. They both decided to wash the dishes. To pass time.
After a long silence, she spoke; " I got them when I found out about their death, two days later "
Elena silently listened.
" I was sad, depressed even. Knowing that they can't be with me anymore. I was frustrated. If I hadn't asked them to come back at that time. None of it would have happened " Alisha paused.
Elena knew it was a hard topic to talk about. She knew the pain. She was there after all. Alisha's pained cries. Her frustration. She was there to hear it all. Looking at her friend now. She has change. From being depressed to being calm. Guess that's another step taken.
They finished washing and headed to the living room. Where Alisha can continue.
Sitting down. Alisha made herself comfortable. It helped that Elena was there. It helped that someone was there to hold her when she brake down. It was frustrating. She wasn't supposed to show her weak side. Yet she could not help it when Elena was there.
After getting the desired comfort. She spoke; " Two days later. I was still in pain. The damage was just huge. Out of desperation. I called out. To who? I don't know. I just needed to let it all out. So I spoke. I spoke every single words that weighed my chest. After doing that for a full hour. My body glowed in blue hue, and that was the last thing I remember before falling asleep "
Alisha noted that Elena was quiet the whole time. She made no move however. She would let her words sink into her friend.
Elena was frustrated. It was not at her friend for not telling her, no it was more directed at her. She couldn't blame the girl. She needed space. Space to let reality sink in. Alisha suffered so much. Yet she wasn't there. She did not think it was that bad. Alisha has always been good at hiding her emotions. Now that she knew. The pain her friend suffered. She silently promised that she would always be on Alisha's side.
After a while. She blinked twice. Alisha said it glowed in blue but what she saw was green. What does that mean?
Alisha who noticed her confused eyes decided to answer or speak her mind; " The first one was blue, then it was yellow, and now green. I don't know if there would be more though "
Yellow? Elena could not help but think. Blue was the first. At that time she was hurt, in pain and sad. Then could it have something to do with her emotions?
" Emotions " she muttered softly.
Alisha looked at her friend. It seems that she already figured it out. She knew that Elena was smart. And the said girl did not let her down. She unconsciously let out a smile. Which did not escape Elena's eyes.
Elena then abruptly turned her head towards her. In a shocked tone she said; " Your smiling "
Grinning, she repeated it with cheerfulness; " Your smiling!! Hahaahaha " and jumped from the couch. She also did a some sort of victory dance. Which made her look funny.
Alisha only smiled wider at her friend antics. She then asked; " Do you want to know the rest I can do? " Making Elena stop and look at her with a wide grin.
With excitement " Yes please! " she exclaimed.
So they went to the basement. The basement was huge. It's walls were all white, the same as the floor. If anyone would see it. They would think that it was some kind of facility. On the far left side. It was full of tools. There was also a door on the right. The door leads to a workout room. Where it was also filled with equipments. Elena was in awe. She has never been to the basement before. She followed Alisha while looking around. The place was huge as a tennis court!
Eventually the admiration time has to end. Alisha gave her some goggles. Accepting them Elena could not help but raise a curious brow.
" Put it on "
Doing as told. She put them on. Then the lights suddenly turned off. Elena looked towards Alisha, only to see she was not wearing goggles. Wide eyes, she spoke in realization; " You have Night vision?! "
Alisha smirked and nodded.
" That's so cool! You don't have to worry being in the dark anymore. "
" Yes, it's quite handful, especially at night "
" Is there more? "
" Yep "
Elena watched her friend with a smile. She was back. The curious side of her was back. It was still frustrating, knowing that she was not the one who brought it back. Nonetheless, she was still happy. Happy to know that the friend she knew was still there.
" Are you coming? " Alisha shouted making her snapped out of her thoughts.
With a grin, " Yep! " she replied and went to Alisha's side.
She hoped that this side of her would last a little longer. At least for her.
