Chapter 25 - A promise

"What a waste of a good shot," Seraphin said.

"I got a lot more in the tank if you are interested."

"I am sorry, but I am allergic to bullets so I will pass."

"I would like to think that a lot of people share that issue."

"Are you one of them?"

"I don't know, depends on how much of a punch those things pack."

She smiled and the dust around her began swirling up into a vortex above her head. I moved my head and dodged a very small dust particle. I looked back to the ship and it appeared they would cause a considerable amount of damage to us whether dodged or not.

I put away the Zoom, Zoom guns and bolted through everyone attacking the main head himself. I landed a punch into his guts but halfway through they turned into dust. He reformed himself and threw a punch at my face, I increased my speed, dodged and landed a clean one on him. He flew off and as I was about to chase him I felt something pin me down.

I turned around to see what it was and it was Red Dot, dashing towards me with his fists out and ready to throw down. All of them missed simply because I was faster, I tried to knock him down but I also kept on missing. I was not really missing, Lela created force fields around Red Dot and I just bounce off of him. All of this while Seraphin was shooting at me with her dust particle storm.

I moved back little by little as we exchange attacks to move them away from the ship and give myself a chance to think of a way to get through their defence without overpowering it. Of course, if I failed I was going to do so, but I preferred not to raise any more suspicion towards me.

I thought and thought, I could try and blind her but she probably has a guard over her face and her entire body meaning I could not sneak up on her. But I wanted to at least try to see if there is a limit to how many force fields she can erect. After getting the thought and making the decision I pulled out the Zoom, Zoom guns.

I shot at the three of them simultaneously using my super speed, I got faster and faster and shot at even more random places than prior. It was becoming evident that her speed reduced with the more force fields she erected. I could also notice the other two started to bite their lips and motion for attacks once every second.

I finally started aiming for the ground around them, the dust rose and Red Dot had to try and lock them into place. Seraphin also tried to keep them in one place but they accumulated.

Finally, a chance was availed to me and I got the opportunity to shoot Red Dot in his chest. He stood and held all his targets but I continued until his [Vitality: 20%] dropped low enough to knock him out. The dust he was holding rose to the top and my gun aligned perfectly with Seraphin's forehead, she looked at Lela who was too occupied to look at her and then back at me with a ghostly expression.

"DIE!" I heard a scream and I checked and it was Crawford, his two arms now looked like those of a golem and I was in too much of a sticky situation to dodge.

"NO! YOU DIE!" Screamed Arnold as he collided with Crawford, they both crashed into the ground and caused a huge explosion. Within seconds we were surrounded by crowds.

From the people gathering, I saw Sizana dash out and extend her arms in front of me. Neo finally stopped hiding and got off the ship, Mona prepared her explosions, Sekai and Choka kept on doing what they were doing before.

"I wouldn't expect anything less from the big guns."

"Even with their small numbers, the Stowaways have never been known to run away from fights."

"And they almost never lost a fight before."

"Who would dare challenge them?"

"Yes, especially since they now got the Grim Shooter riding the stars with them."

"Look, I think that Seraphin the Gatling Lady. Does that mean that they were fighting the Crowns?"

"This is even greater than we thought."

"I am not taking any sides."

Captain Crawford got up and tossed Arnold to the side, Arnold did not show any signs of movement afterwards. People continued their mummering, this time they were talking about how our Captain got betean senseless and was unable to move.

"Well, they are a new crew so it makes sense that they lose to the veterans."

"Pompous kids, they thought that just because they had a few wins to their names they could step on their elders."

"This will teach them some humility."

They went on and on until Crawford broke into a roaring laughter.

"You have entertained me as much as I had expected." He had a big grin across his face. "But in the end trash will always be trash even in numbers. You should compensate us for what you did to one of my men."

"Such vile beasts."

"Captain Crawford was only here to welcome them and yet they shot down his man."

"Their name fits them, no one would willingly let barbarians like this on their ship."

"Shameless kids."

Sizana tried to say something but I grabbed her mouth, I bet that it was not going to be anything useful so I spoke in her stead.

"Oh please, you act as if our captain is okay after your little dust play."

"He had it coming, after all he attacked us first. And to think we even greeted you with respect." He continued to walk closer to me.

The spectators began their chattering and continued to call us all sorts of disgraceful.

"You came here to rob us, if it were not for the fact that we are here on one mission you would have been long dead." I shot two bullets one hitting Lela on the thigh and the other grazing Seraphin's ear.

Crawford cringed and clenched hit fists in a fit of rage. He quickly controlled his expression nd went back to normal once again. Meanwhile the guys in the background were more focused on the fact that I had the Crowns on their toes.

"If we were here to rob you why didn't we bring our whole crew then?"

"I am not answering that dumb question."

"Because you know that you are lying to yourself and these..." I appeared behind him and took Arnold's cold body with me.

"Trust me, you are not as scary as you think you are."

He swiped at me but I was already at the top of our ship. "Next time I won't let any of you live."

I meant it.
