Chapter 1 - Sold Off

In a dark room sat a young woman who began to cry on the floor. The screams of her voice could be heard from all around the house as the screams echoed from everywhere. In her arms was a picture of her and her son at an amusement park only a couple of weeks before.

After a while, footsteps could be heard walking up the apartment stairwell as the door opened and closed. From the door appeared a man with a scruffy beard and a wet suit as it was currently raining outside.

"What are you screaming about women? The whole goddamn street can hear you." The man said as he entered the apartment removing his suit jacket.

The woman slowly turned her head towards her husband as she ran up to him pounding his chest. The more she pounded the weaker she got until she fell on her legs and looked up at him with tears running down her face.

"Where… Where's Jacob? Where's my baby boy!!"

As the woman tried to get answers from her husband all he did was take off his tie and grabbed a beer from the fridge. He turned back to his wife who was on the floor and shrugged, "Who knows? Maybe the brat is playing with his friends." He sat on the couch and turned on the television.

"Bull… That's bullshit and you know it." She stood up from the floor and threw the picture frame into the tv, breaking it into many pieces.

"Shit. What's wrong with you."

"I called the school. And they said his father picked him up early. SO YOU'RE FUCKING LYING TO ME!!" She screamed at him at the top of her lungs making sure she wasn't staying silent anymore.

"Just be quiet for once. I had some gambling debt and they said I needed to pay them by the end of the month. They said that all the debt would disappear if I gave them the kid, and I did." He continued to drink from his beer as he didn't look back at his wife.

The young woman couldn't do anything to him or she would get hurt. All she could do was run, and she did. She ran out of the apartment and entered the pouring rain screaming out for her child. She tripped as she fell on the floor looking up at the sky as she screamed out for him. "Jacob!! Where are you?"

~~~~~~~~~~
Jacob was currently in the back of a van where he was trapped with a bag over his head and rope around his hands. For the past 20 minutes, all he did was scream out for his mom, and dad who was still waiting for him to get ice cream. 'Would dad still be waiting for me, is he looking for me right now?' That was all that the young Jacob could think about as he was riding the van.
After half an hour the van came to a full stop as Jacob could feel his body moving from the stop. Soon the back doors opened up as the rain started to hit him and get his clothes all wet. Then in an instant, he was grabbed in the arm by someone who pulled him out of the van. He was pulled with so much force that Jacob fell on the ground landing in a puddle of water. Jacob could only hear the laughs of two grown men as he started to kick around hoping that he would land a hit on one of them.
The two men would grab him and drag him inside the house as he was pushed on his knees as the men took off the bag covering his head. As Jacob looked around the house he became in awe as he had never seen such a beautiful house. The house, no, the mansion, was huge and very bright. The nice red carpet he stood on was now wet as it led to a staircase in the middle of the room which led to two separate hallways. The mansion was something that Jacob had never seen before since he grew up in a ruined apartment.
From the large staircase came a man with a nice black suit, the man was well shaved and his hair as white as snow. The man was obviously rich, but Jacob did not know who this man was being so young.
"What have you brought me this time?" Said the man with white hair as he moved closer to the young boy.
"The Rollins family had massive gambling debts, and as payment, they decided to sell their son to us".
The bald guy who had dragged Jacob kicked his back as he fell onto his stomach as pulled himself up to make eye contact with the man with white hair. Behind his eyes were that of anger and revenge.
After a while of Jacob staring at him, the man took his hand as he slapped the child with as much force he could without killing him. "You do not look at me with such murderous eyes. You are here because no one loves you, and if you get in any trouble I'm not afraid to end your life".
The white-haired man snapped his fingers as the two thugs grabbed Jacob, dragging him once again. As Jacob was being dragged away his eyes noticed a little girl above the staircase with the same color hair as the man.
The two thugs threw Jacob into a dark room as he started to shed some tears before being startled by a noise from the corner of the room. He continued to walk towards the corner to find two kids huddled up to the corner crying. They both looked around seven or eight years old, about the same age as Jacob.
"Don't worry, I'm not here to hurt you. I just got thrown into here too." Jacob looked even worse than the two kids as one of his cheeks was as red as a tomato and blood coming down of his nose. It was a girl and a boy who were dirty, and they looked as though they were in here for about a month or so.
The two kids didn't really say anything to Jacob as he sat down on the ground near the two of them. He really wanted to cry just like the others but he knew that it would make the situation worse for them if they were too loud. He soon fell asleep on the cold ground as the night came over the three children.
