He was happy that Ah Lam received him. Due to the commotion at home, the media would have followed him even if he went to a hotel. That was why he picked his sister's car.
"Yima" (aunt) Li Lian hugged her. She was the only one that understood him. People were concern about his money but his aunt made sure that he was happy at all times.
The shock of seeing Li Lian at her place was still written on her face. Ah Lam kissed his hair and said "Wo de erzi (my dear son) what happened to you ?"
With the way , Li Lian hugged her, she knew something was wrong. When ever , he had a problem, he would come to her. Most of tears , Li Lian shed in the world was on her shoulders. That why she called him my son.
"Are you the only one at home ? He asked, wiping his eyes away. Li Lian did not believe that he cried because of Chu Hua's foolishness. He removed a white handkerchief from his pocket and mopped his face.
"Yang Mi went for your party. I am at home with a friend , come let me introduce you to her" Ah Lam said, inviting him. Li Lian looked around but he did not see any one. Who was his aunt referring to?
"Yima, there is no there" he walked in to the room and sat down. There were two leftover popcorns. His aunt was right. She had a visitor.
"What ? I left …" Ah Lam was surprised that she couldn't uttered a word again. Her gaze went from the stairs to the kitchen but there was no sight of Yulan. Strange girl.
"You got a new boyfriend ? Are you now tired of me ?" he took the remote and turned off the loud music. Li Lian wondered how people enjoyed music that were loud enough to break their ear drums.
"I wish I had one, dear" Ah Lam said, closing the door. She went and sat next to Li Lian. "It's a girl, I met today. She was in need of help."
"And you helped. Yima , you inspired me a lot. After Yang Lee's died, I lost control over my senses. The thoughts of losing all your friends in a day, is not funny. It's scared me till date."
She understood what he meant. The cold CEO of the Lis company was not like this before the death of his friends. He used to be a lively and friendly person until the day, he went on a vacation with friends.
It's was a reunion party that included twenty-seven young men. She still remember the day, they were leaving, she went to see her son , Yang Lee off.
No one knew that such an accident was going to happen. They were all happy and rejoicing. Li Lian's was celebrating two important events in his life. Being a CEO and the arrival of a new son in the family or should she say a member of the family to be. He couldn't go with his wife , because she was still pregnant.
"Where is she ?" Li Lian interrupted her thoughts. Ah Lam wondered where Yulan went to . May be she went to her room.
"Upstairs, I guess. Do not bother , she will come downstairs" Ah Lam told him. "Now tell me, what happened ? Today is your anniversary, are you not supposed to be with your wife ?"
Li Lian did not respond. His eyes became dull. He was avoiding her gaze.
"I know that look. You guys had a fight" Ah Lam said, opening one of the drinks. She took one and handed it over to Li Lian who shrugged. "I won't pamper you this night, it's Chu Hua's responsibility. Why would you two make it obvious on such a special occasion ?"
"It's was not my fault Yima. You know how my wife is. She is too stubborn and childish" Li Lian complained. "Today, I found out that she is a big liar , a hypocrite."
