Bwooosh! Intense flames leapt towards Xiao. She willed and a full body golden white armor appeared around her body before the flames engulfed her entirety.

After defeating the guards, Xiao had crushed her emergency token to summon Deodomus and Kyle but at the same time Kyle's token also shattered. Xiao deduced that Kyle was in danger but she had no time to consider helping him out as the phoenix had gotten berserk after seeing Xiao's battle with the guards. Phoenix was a hot-tempered beast. In the past too he had used such moves but the scale was quite large. This time, he was using the last piece of earth elemental stone to obtain this earth armor. Xiao was quite impressed with this soil armor. It looked simple but somehow gave off a sturdy vibe.
"Here I go!" Deodomus exclaimed.
Boom! His speed was phenomenal as he leapt towards the phoenix and reached it within a moment. Xiao snorted but her eyes were teeming as she gazed at Deodomus fighting the phoenix, wielding a spear and using one powerful move after another. This was Death Spear technique but while in the past even one move of it was enough to slay a Master realm beast; numerous moves could not kill the phoenix. Phoenixes had several powers. Rapid regeneration, great defense, pyroteleportation, incineration, revival, great speed and whatnot. Although this phoenix was a baby and was tied down by several special chains which restricted most of its powers, it still maintained its rapid regeneration and great defense, enabling it to take several attacks of the Death Spear technique.
Boom! Boom! Fwoosh! Deodomus struck with loud moves while the phoenix hurled intense flames at him. Deodomus' soil armor protected him well. In the meantime, Xiao made her move. She concealed herself, used no chi and snuck up from behind the phoenix.

Clang! It was parried by something invisible. Right afterwards Xong appeared at the spot Xiao had targeted. Xong was carrying a sheathed sword. Additionally, there were about 20 knights in the hall, standing next to the walls, forming a rectangle around Xiao, Deodomus and Kyle.
"You must be the Gen lord. Did you mindcontrol Kyle?" Xiao enquired.
"Ah yes, I am lord Xong. And yes, I am controlling your friend here. He won't be able to break out of this mind-control until either he or the two of you die." Xong said. "I didn't think I'd have to fight myself but not only are you two fairly strong, you even managed to probe my location. Impressive." He smiled.
"There's no need for us to battle, Lord Xong." Xiao said, taking a backfoot. "I am princess Xiao of Carny, here on a mission from the Consulate to obtain a phoenix feather. If you give it to us, we'll leave peacefully."
"…." There was a momentary silence between the two. Only the sounds of fists and kicks being exchanged between Deodomus and Kyle intervened the silence. Xong did not expect a princess to waltz into his castle and demand a trivial feather. He had also heard about the Consulate but he didn't fear them for some reason. This was apparent from his actions as he quickly grabbed the hilt of his sword.
Shink… a faint metallic sound rang.

"….." Xiao's face twitched in anger as she summoned a battle armor that appeared on her body.

"Hundred swirls!" Deodomus reacted immediately, summoning a broadsword and swinging it around fiercely! All the incoming attacks were thwarted and the knights were pushed back.
Deodomus panted and broke a sweat. This was not easy. He barely managed to defend at the last moment!
Deodomus and Xiao then tacitly retreated towards the exit. However, to their dismal, the door had vanished!

"Too fast!" Xiao and Deodomus felt fear. Xong was merely making singular moves once in a while and neither of them were able to even catch a glimpse of it!
Xiao looked at Deodomus helplessly. Deodomus gritted his teeth.
"Since we can't escape…" He uttered before summoning the broadsword again and rushed towards Xong. Xiao immediately followed. They were going in for the final fight. It was a do or die situation.

The broadsword shattered and Deodomus' right arm was chopped off cleanly! Blood spurted out in a fountain from his stump.
