Chereads / The Saintess's Wolf / Chapter 3 - Chapter 2

Chapter 3 - Chapter 2

Today is the first day of me speaking to you as well as me accepting this body and world. Golden eyes, shiny golden hair, a cute face and an adorable doll-like body.

This was Genevieve's body.

Not only her body was of a goddess ascended from heaven but also she had wonderful parents. It's like I have entered the world I always dreamed of in my past life. Moreover the servants here are also too nice. Crystal, my personal maid is just the best and Sir Grey is amazing too.

By the way, the way Crystal looks at Sir Grey seems like she has had a crush on him for a long time now. Should I set them up? What do you think?

P.S. Today my new teacher is arriving. Gotta go now before I get late for my first class.

Having finished writing, I placed the pen down at the desk and closed the dairywhen Crystal rushed in. She was breathing heavily trying to catch her breath. Was she chased down by a lion?

"Milady! Let's hurry and get you ready or you'll be late for your class."

Huh? But I changed my clothes before breakfast? Why do I need to change them again?

"Crystal, but I just changed my clothes in the morning." I said expressing my confusion.

"Yes milady but you can't meet Baroness Rhea in that dress. Absolutely not. Please hurry and get up. Let me get you a change of clothes." Crystal said as she rushed to my cupboard looking through it, deciding on what I should wear.

I quietly got up from the chair and walked to the cushioned platform. I remembered, Crystal earlier during the morning told me to stand on it so she could dress me up.

I stood on the platform as I saw Crystal rummaging through my cupboard. Maybe I should wear something elegant yet plain. Since the other party is a Baroness nonetheless my soon to be teacher, it would be good to be as humble as possible.

"Crystal?"

"Yes milady?"

"Don't pick something too grand which stands out too much."

"But milady is the daughter of the Viscount Hebrew. It's only natural for her to stand out." She said, looking at me with concerned yet confused eyes.

Uff…Sometimes Crystal just worries too much. She's like a duplicate version of mother. Twelve is an age when children learn to take responsibilities but for these two ladies, they make it seem like I was born yesterday. And my soul is already 28 years old. But they don't need to know that.

"Crystal, her rank is not the matter here. She's my teacher and an elder first. A student shouldn't look or try to be superior to the one who is about to tell them more about the world the child has never looked at."

"My lady… Why does it feel like you are suddenly not the child I was cradling in my arms just yesterday? You have grown so much in just the spur of a moment." Crystal said with a sad smile on her face and her eyes glistening.

"Is it a bad thing? Do you hate me because of how I am now?"

"Not at all."She replied, turning around and continuing her search for a perfect outfit for my meeting with the Baroness. "It's just that…"

"Just what?" I asked, curious.

"I miss the way you used to be. But that doesn't mean I hate you now. I can never hate you, my cute little miss. You are an angel and a blessing to everyone around you. A sun who shines brightly over the heads of people making them smile." Crystal said as she finally pulled out a bluish white frock from the cupboard. It had a blue ribbon on the waist and didn't have many frills.

"I see. Thank you." I said as Crystal walked over to me to help me get a change of clothes.

"What are you thanking me for, my lady?"

"For taking care of me and being by my side." I mumbled.

"It's my duty." She said as she finished dressing me up and both of us heard a knock on the door.

"Come in." Crystal said as she helped me down the platform.

"My lady looks lovely."

"Sir Grey!" I said as I ran to him and hugged him to which he laughed as he patted my head.

"Lady, the Baroness has arrived. Shall we go?" He asked as he held out his hand for me to hold.

"Yes." I said as Sir Grey escorted me out of my room. We were on our way to the main hall when I decided to ask Sir Grey a question.

"Sir Grey?"

"Yes my lady?"

"Do you like Crystal?" I asked as I stared at him, with my big golden curious eyes.

"Umm… It's hard to explain, my lady. We were past lovers."

What!? Wait. Both of them look like they are in love with each other. So why did they break up?

"Do you mind asking me why?"

"Well… Let's just say sometimes it's better to let go than to hold onto something which has nothing left in it." He said, looking somewhat lost as we stood in front of the hall door.

"Maybe there's something still left. Why don't you try to find it? I'm sure you will. It's not too late yet. Just find out what puts that space between you both. It may seem as if you fell from a graceful dream but isn't that how we wake up to make our dreams a beautiful reality?"

"I-" Sir Grey wanted to say something but it seemed as if he was struggling with words. I opened the hall door to enter but before I did, I said a few words hoping they would give him courage.

"There are a few courtship letters delivered from the house for Crystal,  this morning." Hearing this, his eyes widened as he looked at me in disbelief and shock. In return, I smiled at him and entered the hall.

In the hall, I was greeted by the presence of an elegant and sophisticated lady. But she didn't seem very happy at the sight of me.

"Greetings, Lady Genevieve. The Daughter of Viscount Hebrew."

"Greetings teacher. Please forgive me for adding more things to your schedule but I'll try my best to make the teacher feel like she is not wasting her time on this student." I said as I bowed to her, leaving her shocked.

"May I ask why Lady Genevieve, who is in a higher position than me, is greeting me? A mere baroness?"

"You are wrong, teacher. A student can never be in a position higher than their teacher, elders or parents."  I said, as I smiled at her. Call it a miracle, her stoic face now held a beautiful smile.

"It is my pleasure to have a student like you, my lady."
