Chapter 15 - Chapter 15 Revenge (1)

Leo standing on a building a hundred feet away was carefully watching the guards at the door. How the hell was he gonna get inside?

The scorpion gang was one of the several authorities under the Scorchers Faction, the main ruling power in west peak city. Not only did they have deep connections in drug trafficking and human trafficking, even the mayor of the city as well as the police force was under their payroll.

Leos heart felt heavy, then the heaviness and worry was replaced with anger. He knew what the gist was, there was every possibility that that damn Bill had sold Michael to the Scorpion gang when the rent was overdue.

This was a Tier 3 area where the Scorpion gangs influence was very high. They were practically the most thriving nightclub in the city. Leo had heard a lot of rumors about this place, politicians, small time drug lords, and law enforcement would come here to blow off some steam in foul ways in The Scorpions Den.

Forget about trafficking, live prostitution was allowed in this place. The Scorchers factors influence was so high that the police turned a blind eye to every single deed they committed. That was Leos main problem.

The extreme difficulty which laid in getting Michael from these people was the easy part. The real difficulty would be what to do if he somehow managed to succeed as after that, he would be their main target and nowhere in West peak or even the surrounding cities would be suitable for them to hide.

Leo would definitely try to save him, but charging in recklessly would help no one and cost him his life. He didn't believe those crazy movies were the MC would dive into the belly of the beast, guns blazing with no information, backup and insufficient firepower to unexpectedly pull of a miracle and come out on top. This was real life for fuck sake.

But as fate would have it, the System thought differently.

[ New quest Save Your Cousin: You are now a Shadow Demon and you must continuously prove your worth and never back down in the face of opposition. Utilize all means and methods to successfully defeat the Scorpion gang even though it will put you at odds with the Scorchers Faction ]

[ Rewards: ?????? ]

[ Penalty: All stats -10/ Level - 2 ]

Leo knew what those question marks meant, this task was coming close to impossible meaning that the rewards would be heavenly but this was his first time seeing a penalty.

Seeing this leo didn't know wether to laugh or cry.

Quite frankly, Leo didn't have a choice. He was going to save Michael anyway and if he didn't, he would be the one losing big time. His promise to always protect him would be broken and he would no longer be at the peak for his evolution, even his attributes would all go down by 10, that was a cruel punishment.

..... ....

Bill walked into the Scorpions Den with two thugs as escorts, both were at level 8 rank of the First order.

Due to the existence of his system that showed him which level a monster was on back in Karos. Leo had a good understanding of how Strengths were graded by The GENESIS SOCIETY.

For someone like Leo who had no chance of ever getting an ability stone of any kind, all he could do was engage in vast amounts of research and listen to the news concerning the Society as well as Monsters. After all, if he ever did get the opportunity to be an Evolved Hunter, he would never dream of being one of the powerful ones.

As such he needed knowledge to know how to deal with different powers and monsters so he could hold his own. Basically from level 1 to 13 would be the basic beginners form for the first order existences such as humans. Once someone reached level 14, they would only require one more step to cross into the Second order threshold and many would remain there for their entire lives.

This was because, humans who used Powerstones, Rune stones or attribute stones didn't evolve like the Karos inhabitants. It was rather simply, either you get stronger or you reach a bottleneck you would never be able to go past.

The faster one broke from level 14 to level 15, the higher the chances of breaking forth into a stronger rank. The main reason was because once you broke past the D rank threshold, depending on the persons potential and soul power, as well as his or her body strength. One would be assigned a permanent rank that they could never advance from without going through extremely special methods.

It was possible to break through directly to the third order or fourth order with extreme luck. There were 5 accounts of people directly breaking through to the edge of the fourth order becoming fourth order existences although it was rarer than an eclipse taking place.

Simply put, the Accumulation of power from level 1 to 14 would depend how high ones rank would be once they broke through, Monsters could break through at anytime and the passage of time wouldn't have any effects. Humans on the other hand needed to break through as fast as possible, the longer one waited, the higher the chances you would never advance unless you created an Ability stone that was directly proportional to the person's exact ability in a much higher grade.

The difficulty to achieve that was the same as an organ transplant, one wrong variable and the death of the individual was highly likely.

.......

The club interior was very lively and the smell of alcohol filled the air. This place was no different from the underground and only top level people with high influence in the city were qualified to be here.

Just because it was located in the Tier 3 area didn't mean that they were lacking, the powers had all agreed that the higher tiers should not be used to make this high end nightclub.

Bill walked past the people on the dancefloor that were currently having a wild ride while dancing to music. On a lounge chair was the Captain of the West peak police force currently surrounded by three beauties who were wearing revealing clothes.

None of them had advanced past the age of 19 and from their eyes, one could see the unwillingness but also submission in their eyes as they had resigned themselves to their fate.

Bill was left to the inner areas of the Scorpions Den. After moving around for a while, they finally arrived at the VIP section.

Currently seating before him and cleaning a dazzling sword with a white piece of clothes was a man with a stern expression. He was almost 2 meters tall and he had an indifferent expression on his face but exuded a murderous aura wherever he was.

"Sir Wells, It is my pleasure to be here" bill was quick to start with his bootlicking techniques, here he knew that he wasn't really welcome.

Obviously someone like Bill wasn't worth his time as he continued polishing his sword and gesture with his hands for Bill to continue.

"Mister Wells, I remember that I sold a particular male to be a slave at your establishment about 2 weeks ago. Originally I didn't think there would be any problems but I have gotten a little new news that I feel you should....."

"Get straight to the point and stop wasting my time or I will skin you alive and mount your head on a stick".

Bill gulped in fear, he was previously fearful but now he was filled in dread, who was oliver Wells? The Second order level 22 Master Swordsman that ruled over west peak and was the leader of the Scorpion gang.

"That slave has a relative who I thought was previously dead, but it turns out he has returned and wants revenge. I know this is not something that someone of your caliber needs to worry about but I felt it would be better for you to be informed".

Bill was choosing his words carefully to make sure that he had a chance to escape this place. The original stern and indifferent Oliver Wells suddenly let out a faint smirk. An outsider actually wanted to challenge the Scorpion gang.

Unless the guy was a Level 25 second order expert or higher, Wells would never show fear, and the said person wanted to challenge the Scorpion hand as well as the Scorchers Faction.

Wells smirk was now flipped to a cold gaze, this little pig had wasted his time. Before Wells could utter a word, the phone in his pocket rang. Reaching for it in his pocket, as soon as he answered, the voice coming from the other side was panicked.

"Boss there are several dead bodies, the guards at the doors have been killed, we are under...."

The sound of a slitting throat could be heard before the line was cut.
