The days gone fast and Riox prepared everything for his travel. He said goodbye to Ayla and left.
The path was clear before him and arrived at Taya in a half day without taking a break.
As he walked in the same area of the outskirts, someone waved to him.
- Hey, kid!
*Ah, it was that smith. What does he do at this moment here?*
- I've waited for you so long! Where have you gone? - the smith walked toward Riox with a grimace on his face.
- I needed to finish some matters, and also get some things to fulfil our deal. - and he swung the backpack from his back.
- What did you ... ? - he looked at the bag with interest.
- Can I borrow your workshop as we agreed? - Riox asked straightforwardly.
Darag just looked at him incomprehensibly. He just waved his hand to let Riox go.
Riox left and hurried into the workshop.
- Hey Darag. Who was that kid?
- He? ... Huh ... Do you remember the daggers I sold 2 days ago? - Darag sighed a huge one and asked the person before him.
- Sure! The whole district is talking about those masterpieces! The person who don't know that is a retard!
- It's better if you sit down ... - Darag pointed to a bench with his finger.
- Why?
- Those daggers were ... not made by me. - Darag lowered his head.
The person beside him just looked at Darag with wide-opened eyes.
- Before you ask ... that kid was the one who forged it in one day ...
The awkward silence descended on them.
Riox arrived at the workshop in a hurry. As he stepped inside, he closed the door quickly, dropped his backpack on the desk and poured out the materials on it and sorted them based on its types.
*Here goes the meteorite iron. There are the Zaragh crystals and the 4 different gems. First, I need to crush the Zaragh crystal and the 4 gems into powder and mix them well.*
Riox started the process, but he did these preparations because of the knowledge he gained through the book Dreng lended to him about smithing.
The bigger part of it contained a lot of description and guide for alchemical use of the basic materials.
The gems Dreng gave to Riox were not ordinary ones. The one called Zaragh crystals are a purer materialized form of mana in nature. The crystals Ayla mined out for Riox are also Zaragh crystals.
While the 4 colored gems have more properties. They are mana crystals with elemental mana, which is considered to be the rarest ones in the kingdom.
Riox readed the crystals crushed into powder and mixed with metals can strengthen the metal with the element of the user, as an example if a person using wind magic on the metal, it can extend or buff the power of it.
With this knowledge, a theory formed in Riox's mind. If a weapon is forged with these gems and crystal, it can enhance any aspects of the user through the weapon as it contains every type of elemental attributed natural material.
On the other hand, Riox didn't have any idea what elemental attribute he and Ayla should have. With this, he also mixed mana crystals with the gems powder, so theoretically without elemental affinity the weapons still can be strengthened by the user.
After he made the mix of powder, he took a little amount of it and put it away for later. As for the other part, he poured all of it into the furnace with the meteorite iron and started the process of melting.
After the ores and the powder melted into one, he poured an amount into Dereg's mold of sword and blade. He created the first sword for Ayla and the blade for himself in a slow pace, caring for every moment.
This forging was not as simple as anyone would imagine. It was an experiment based on the idea of Riox.
The hours went fast. Meanwhile Darag just wandered in the city, met the people he knew, but a spike still poked his foot.
- Hey, Darag! What are you doing outside? You usually are in your workshop! Did something happen?
- Nah, it's fine. I took a day off since I had many days since the last time I relaxed this much! - Darag just changed the topic whenever a familiar face showed up and asked his doings.
Darag was tired, moving nearly all day in the city was too much for him, so he decided to go home and take a nap, but his curiosity didn't let him.
- I need to check that boy, what is he doing ... What was his name? Did I ever ask him ...? - he was lost in his thoughts.
Riox finished the first sword and the blade in one day, and prepared for the second without any problem.
The thing he stuck in was the bow. The metal he created became very sturdy and unbreakable if it's cooled, and because of the powder of elemental gems, it would be impossible to reforge it.
*If I forge the bow, it will be sturdy and Ayla never could shoot an arrow with it. How was in the article? ... The meteorite iron is a very sturdy and durable material ... The backdraw about it is that if the ore is impure, the metal will lose its sturdiness based on the impurity ...*
His thoughts were like a race, each one rushed up and down in his mind to think about a solution for the bow.
*The string can be crafted with the melted powder mix. A very simple thing, but the book said it's a complicated alchemical process ... pfff. That's easy. To make a string like thing with only the powder of a mana crystal it needs to be melted and cooled suddenly without break, and both phases could only take a maximum 2 sec-onds ... Ah, I understand why they mentioned it as a hard process ...*
Riox worked on the second sword for himself. He didn't even watch what he did, he did the whole process based on his instincts. As he did it with care previously, now he didn't even need to watch about.
*The heat for melting needs to be at least 500 celsius, and the cooling medium is needed in menus 5 celsius ... I can't cool down the water that much, but what if I increase the heat in the furnace? So the difference in celsius should be the required or higher ... it's a gamble ... Argh!*
Darag opened the backdoor meanwhile and watched the Riox performance in silence.
- What is he thinking so much about? He met with difficulties?
Riox tried to find a method to decrease the water's temperature as low as possible.
He finished the second sword and put down his tools, fell on a chair with a helpless impression like he hit a big wall.
- Ahh ... How? There is nothing I can do! - he buried his face in his hands.
Darag just whispered some words to himself and left the workshop.
- This kid. Even if it seems he lost, he will find a way, I'm sure about it! - he smiled at Riox when he closed the door.
As Riox blew the air from his lungs and sensed it on his legs, he got an idea.
- The pressured air is colder ... I need to try it!
He quickly stood up and took the air pump from the furnace and aimed at a little overturned bucket of water and started to pump it.
*This bow will kill me! But I will make it, no matter how hard it must be!*
As he used the air pump, the water in the bucket slowly cooled down. The temperature slowly decreased and with the work of some hours. He kept pumping the bucket while also keeping the heat in the furnace, and after his hard work, little ice crystals popped up on the surface of the water.
*I DID IT! Now it's time!*
Riox poured the remaining melted metal into a rod form temporarily and began the process of making the crystal string. He needed to be fast, sweat gleamed on his forehead as he poured the powder through the heated furnace and flew into the bucket of ice-cold water.
With a huge amount of steam and sizzling sound, the process has been finished. Riox lifted the crystal string out of the water with an indescribable expression on his face.
*YES! YES! YES!!!*
His happiness was not unreasonable, he made something in a way the alchemist never could do or never tried before.
He rubbed his hands as he turned his eyes on the mold of the rod.
*Now ... let's make the bow!*
