I'm Toby, a sixteen year old student who likes to hang out with friends and have a fun time.I live alone, but I get help from my mom quite a lot.Why only my mom?Well, my father died from a disease but it doesn't affect us that much anymore so it's alright.
In the year 2210, humans have found a technology far superior to what we have used till now.We call it: The System.This system allows us humans to gain superpowers, just like heroes from comic books.The catch was that you had to be at least 16 years old or you can't get them,or that was atleast what the government told us.Most city's have a place where you can get your superpower,which is based on your actions till that moment.
The downside of these powers appearing on earth is that people started using it to feed their own greed:robbing banks,crime and so much more.Thats why the military has made a special program where teens like me will train for 2 years under strict supervision of the staff to see if we can become what we call "The strings".
Today is Saturday so I'm going to buy some groceries and pills for mom.After I'm done with that I might hang out with some of my friends or study.
After I get to my mother's apartment I give her the pills she needed and I went home.My friends suddenly called me and asked if I wanted to hang out,of course I couldn't say no.And we might as well have some fun since on Monday we will see what powers we will get.

Oi! I'm here.I exclaim as I almost fell on the ground. "What happened to you?My friend,Joseph asked.Your drenched in sweat...don't tell me you ran all the way here."Well you know me, always up for some exercise."
"Yeah sure el chappo.We already know thats not the reason." My other friend, Jasmine said with an angry look on her face. "Fine, you caught me.The last buss was way too crouded and I didn't feel like staying in there so I just ran here. Leaving that aside,what do you two want to do today? After all tomorrow's the big day.
"Shall we celebrate at the local bar?"Joseph asked while drooling thinking about all the food and drinks he could get.
"Sure~But be carefull not to overdo it again,ok? Nobody wants the same thing that happened last time to repeat."
"Oh cmon, it was the first time!I swear nothing like that will happen again." We believe you Joseph...well believe you.
Surprisingly, nothing crazy happened that night.We only drank some beers and ate what we liked the most.After that, I went home to rest.
Ah, home sweet home.I said as I went into my room to take a well deserved nap.
A mysterious figure appeared at my window,scaring me for a second but I thought of it as a trick played by my tiredness.
