After school Blair and Bruce were sparing in the gym while the others were outside. Elder Wallace showed up to watch, when she lost, she bowed and began running laps, "You are pushing her hard," Elder Wallace observed as Gamma Bruce grabbed a drink of water. "She does this herself; I don't have to force her to run," Bruce told him. "She pushes herself?" Wallace asked. "She's hard on herself. I'm not sure why," Bruce admitted. "Todd told me what you want to do," Wallace admitted. "It might be the only chance we have to stop him," Bruce replied still catching his breath. "I don't think it's a good idea, to let him know how good she is," Wallace protested. "If they never go up against each other and they need to one day, she won't know how to beat him," Bruce said. Wallace looked down in defeat he knew Bruce was right.
As Blair came around from her fourth lap, Wallace turned and smiled, "You're doing well," he compliments Blair as she stopped for water. "Thank you, Elder Wallace," she replied with a bow of her head. She sipped her water, "Again," she said to Bruce. The door opened and in walked Craig and Todd with Benjamin and the rest of the students, "Blair, you will be fighting your brother," Bruce announced once the group reached them. "No, no way," Benjamin objected loudly. There was a buzz from the rest of the students, "Why can't you fight her?" Todd questioned. "She's my sister," Benjamin growled getting in Todd's face. Being an Alpha's son Ben was six foot one, while Todd was not quite six feet, Blair was and average height for a female at five foot seven. "You will fight Blair and you will win," Todd ordered, Ben's square jaw flickered a moment.
Blair took a deep breath and walked out to the mat, Ben did as well but kept his eyes on Todd. "Hey, come on. Like we use to," Blair said jabbing him in the arm. He looked at her, "Blair," he scolded. "Come on, it'll be good for me," she pleaded. "What if I hurt you," he whispered. "Stop yourself," she replied offering a half smile. Only Blair knew that Ben could feel the aggressiveness getting out of control and only she knew it scared him. He would tell her nearly in tears over what that would mean for their future. Bruce stepped up and cleared rules and told them, "Begin". Ben wouldn't go after her; he was holding in whatever it was that made him aggressive. Blair kicked him in his side, and he took it. She hopped from one foot to the next and swung, Ben dodged the punch but didn't see the upper cut Blair landed square on his chin.
Ben was trying to suppress the aggression, but that upper cut was making it extremely difficult. He cracked his neck to one side, as Blair got behind him and kick her heel into the back of his knee and he fell to his knees. "You are an alpha, why are you letting a woman beat you," a voice in Ben's head roared. He turned as Blair went to grab him and he grabbed her by the neck, and began squeezing, "Ben," she whispered.
He raised her off the ground and punched her nearly knocking her out. She hit the floor and her vision was blurred, Blair blinked and tried to get her bearings. Ben walked over blinded by rage his eye nearly black and kicked her in the gut spinning her over. Blair lost her breath, her eyes widened as she tried to gasp for air and reached for someone. Ben walked over and grabbed her again pulling her up, she kicked and kicked him, but he was in full rage, "Ben, stop," she pleaded. Ben blinked his eyes and looked around seeing the horror on everyone's faces, he set Blair down and walked off.
Blair fell on all fours, gasping for air, as Bruce and Todd ran to her. "Why would you do that to him?" She said gasping for air. "We were hoping if he saw his aggression with you, he would stop it and control it," Bruce explained. Blair stood back up, still breathless, "He knows it's there," she said angrily and walked out to find Ben.
Blair ran to catch up to Ben, "Ben," she called when she nearly caught up to him. "I wanna be alone, Blair," he called. "Craig's an asshole," she said as she stopped running. Ben stopped, "I know what they are trying to do, and it didn't work," he said raising his face to the foggy sky. He turned around, "What happens, if I kill you?" He asked tears in his eyes. "You won't," she said grabbing his hand. "What if I do? What if during my alpha ceremony my wolf is so aggressive, he kills you?" Ben argued. "And what if you get hit by a car and die," she responded sarcastically.
He made a face at her, "Blair," he scoffed. "We can't always be afraid. We are part of each other, you won't hurt me," she assured. Ben rolled his eyes and took off, Blair sulked home and forgot what her face must've looked like until her mother saw her. "Blair, what happened to you?" Sofie gasped. Blair looked at her, "They had me fight Ben today," she admitted. Sofie was angry, she grabbed Blair's hand and took her down the hall to Kaspar's office. Sofie didn't knock, she opened the door and walked in, "What happened?" Kaspar asked as he stood, when he saw his daughter. "I thought Ben and Blair weren't supposed to train together," Sofie scolded. "They aren't," Kaspar defended. "Did Ben do this to you?" He asked. "He didn't mean to, Todd, Craig, and Bruce thought if he saw himself beating me, he'd control himself," Blair explained. Kaspar's square jaw flexed, and he left. "Come on, let's get some ice on your eye," Sofie said shaking her head.
