Sequence 1
Michael wakes up, rubbing his eyes and sore back thinking, "How long was I asleep?".
He drags himself out of bed, takes a cold shower, brushes his teeth then puts on his training uniform while struggling to stay awake.
As Michael turns to leave, he smacks his head against the wall as the door to his cell refuses to open.
Confused, he shouts at DIVA "Open the damn door I've got to train" but DIVA replies, "Unfortunately the lower levels of the facility are under lockdown".
He runs towards the desk and angrily pushes the red button saying "This is Red Eagle I need the door opened right now" but DIVA simply replies, "Access denied".
Frustrated, he sits down on the bed, trying his best not to explode on a fiery rage. After a few moments of thinking he says, "Wo I can't kill myself" and goes back to sleep.
An hour later Segun wakes him saying, "Mike we're late for training we need to move!".
Michael quickly dashes out of bed and runs out to the elevator. As they step inside, Dele tells them over the intercom, "Change of plans, both of you are to come to the conference room immediately".
Michael groans and kicks the elevator door out of frustration, slightly unsettling Segun who's frantically trying to change the final stop on the lift.
They come out at level 1 and head to the conference room where they see Dele, two SDF guards and Sensei Frank seated at one side of large table.
The two boys have a seat as Michael moans, "We shouldn't be doing this, we have important training to do" but Dele replies, "This is your training, don't talk just listen".
Michael shuts up as Dele continues, "We first need to mention the mistakes that were made yesterday".
DIVA replays a video of yesterday's battle from different angles as Frank says, "Your first mistake, taking your eyes off the enemy, after I repeatedly told you not to".
Dele chimes in saying, "Your second mistake was over exertion. Michael, using all your energy at once was foolish and makes you an easy target. You can afford to make that mistake in training but for missions we can't always bail you out.
He then turns to Segun and says, "You did well in following instructions and during the exfil but your initiative was lacking, the Phalanx could have gotten you to the target in half the time".
Dele concludes by saying, "Overall the mission was a success but not up to SDF standards due to a combination of fatigue, poor team coordination and incomplete data. As a result I am banning both of you from training and undertaking any missions for the next 24 hours. Use that time to rest, research and mentally prepare for future missions.
You are both dismissed".
Michael and Segun get up, salute and leave the room while Dele rubs his eyebrows and lets out a deep sigh.
Frank puts a hand on Dele's shoulder and says, "I know this sounds strange coming from me but you need to relax".
Dele leans back and replies, "Fine let's go get a drink".
They both get up and leave the room as Frank says, "You're paying".
Sequence 2
After a day of rest, Michael and Segun are called into the training room for a special assignment.
They were instructed to put on their suits and sit silently on simulated chairs as they wait for Amina to arrive.
Finally, after 20 minutes of waiting, she arrives with the target from the Anambra mission behind her. Surprised, they move into attack positions and shout, "Amina get back that thing is behind you!".
Amina calmly looks back and replies, "That's a very rude way to address your new team mate".
Michael and Segun lower their weapons, saying "Huh!?".
She continues, "Her name is..." but the girl interrupts, saying, "My name is Moise!" to the surprise of everyone in the room.
Michael mocks her saying "So it speaks" and Moise replies, "Yes 'it' does".
Amina gets between them and stops them from fighting saying, "People please,we do not behave like beasts in this organisation".
Segun retracts his visor and walks towards Moise to shake her hand saying, "Hi, I'm Oresegun" but she slaps it away replying, "I didn't ask!".
Frustrated, Amina pulls Moise aside to have a little talk about her attitude while Michael warns Segun, "Do not let your guard down, we still don't know if this is another trick".
After a few moments, Amina and Moise turn to face them, with Moise reluctantly saying "I... apologise".
Segun replies, "We accept, the angry looking guy over there's called Michael" but Michael looks on unimpressed and growls, "Whatever, so why is she here?".
Amina excitedly says, "Moise is here because we need to train together, her skillset will be of great use to us going forward".
Segun asks, "So what do you need us to do?" and Amina responds, "Just attack like you usually do, whoever lands three hits out of the three of you wins, have fun" and hastily leaves the room.
A blunt pole rises from the floor for Moise to use as Segun asks, "Wait are we meant to use our weapons?" and Amina shouts, "Obviously!" over the intercom.
Before he can react Moise rushes to attack him but her swing is quickly deflected by Michael's sword.
Moise quickly ducks and spins behind Michael, knocking him across the room with her pole.
DIVA says, "One hit" as Moise dashes towards Segun again but her attack is halted when she takes a direct hit to the shoulder from one of his cannons and is sent crashing to the floor.
He apologises profusely, thinking he had killed her but she simply gets up, takes a lick of the red paint and smiles.
Moise runs towards him again, dodging the array of paint balls being shot at her but is unable to land a clean hit because of the Phalanx's arms getting in the way.
As she's distracted, Michael comes flying at her and knocks her down using the blunted edge of his practice sword.
From the observation room Dele walks in on Amina observing the training and asks, "How's things on your end?" and she responds with a devilish grin, "See for yourself".
He looks down to see his two agents getting destroyed by Moise and raises an eyebrow saying, "Wow!".
Placing her hand on his shoulder, Amina says, "It's amazing how they managed to capture her at all, and she hasn't even used her special ability yet".
Dele looks down and asks, "She's quite powerful, but will we be able to fully control her?".
Amina looks up and replies, "I don't know yet, for now, all we have is faith and that bracelet".
On the training room floor Moise continues her onslaught against the two boys, landing one hit each against the two of them. Angry and frustrated, Michael spreads his wings and flies upwards, releasing a concentrated burst of flames below. Thinking fast, Moise ducks behind the Phalanx which shields her from the blast then uses its head as a springboard to swipe at Michael.
In a split second moment of panic, Michael forms a weak shield resembling the seal of Solomon which does enough to block Moise's attack.
Seizing the chance, he punches her square in the gut, and she responds with a bolt of lightning to his chest which sends them both crashing to the floor.
DIVA floods the room with purple light, saying, "It is a draw" but an unsatisfied Moise gets up and charges towards Michael to continue the fight. Segun steps in front of her to defend Michael but before she can grab him, Moise feels a sharp pain in her wrist and collapses to the floor like a ragdoll.
SDF guards quickly swarm the room and restrain her unconscious body while Dele congratulates Michael and Segun through the intercom, "Good job, you didn't die today. Now rest up for your special class at 6".
Sequence 3
Later that day in the conference room, Dele, Amina and Sensei Frank sit Michael and Segun down to assess their previous training session.
Frank remarks "From what we have seen, her fighting style is very elementary, relying on speed and sheer force to overwhelm her opponents. It is obvious she has not fought a serious battle until recently".
Amina continues, "Despite this we managed to find a pattern in her fighting style and built a simulation around that, DIVA's database has been updated accordingly".
Dele then brings attention to Michael's new ability and asks, "Now to you Michael, where exactly did you learn to make that shield?".
Michael groans through the pain in his aching ribs and replies, "You guys should know, you're the ones with cameras up my ass all day".
Unconvinced, Dele walks behind Michael, placing a hand on his shoulder and says "Is that so? The only other person we know who can do that is Prophet and so far he hasn't taught you had he?".
Amina speaks up in Michael's defense saying, "How he learned it doesn't matter, all that matters is we now have a new weapon in our arsenal".
Dele takes his hands off Michael's shoulders replying, "Alright, I trust you will know how to manage this, does anyone have any further questions?".
Segun raises his hand, asking, "What happened to Moise?" and Amina replies "We used a concentrated dose of sedatives in that bracelet she wore to stop her, it worked better than I thought".
With the session over everyone heads to the common room to relax, have dinner and watch a game of football.
After dinner, Amina takes Segun to the labs to continue work on his designs while Michael heads down to the cells alone.
When he gets to his room he sees Moise sulking on her bed, she quickly glances at him and turns her head away in disgust.
Michael sighs and tries to enter his room but before he does hears a voice whisper, "I'll kill you".
He turns back asking, "Excuse me!?" and Moise stares him down replying "Michael, one day I will kill you, I swear it".
Michael clenches his fist, and storms onto his room whispering, "We'll see about that".
As he lies down on his bed, staring at the ceiling he thinks, "I have to get stronger, that's the only way I will ever make it out of this place".
He forms a small shield in his palm and stares at it intensely before crushing it and turning off the lights to sleep.
