Chapter 2 - Fate is scary, incredibly scary

Throughout history, the Heavenly Demon of the Heavenly Demon sect remained the strongest. Only the Heavenly Demons were able to enter the Sovereign Realm. It was as if some great power restricted entry into the Sovereign Realm and the Heavenly Demon sect possessed the key to ignore this power. Most of Azure's bigshots knew the reason the Heavenly Demons could cross into the Sovereign Realm.

The Absolute Flame

The most heavily guarded treasure of the Heavenly Demon sect. Obtained by the 1st Heavenly Demon, Qin Lianzu. Placed on the top of Mount Qin in the Heavenly Mansion, the residence of the Heavenly Demon.

It had only one known function, helping cultivator increase their understanding of their destined element. This treasure can actually help cultivators increase their realm of understanding. It useless for those below the Emperor realm but it's mere presence empowered the demonic cultivators. This treasure could actually help create a peak-level Sovereign.

Only the Heavenly Demon had the right to use it. The only reason why the Heavenly Demon is always a realm higher than the rest, the Absolute Flame.

After Lucas defeated Chen Jian, the dying Heavenly Demon personally gifted Lucas his journal as a form of respect for his strength. The journal contained everything Chen Jian ever experienced. His life was filled with struggles from day one till the end yet he persevered. Perhaps he wanted to leave an inerasable mark on the world.

History recorded the existence of a man who was born during the Blood Moon Era. The Era was called so due to the increasing boldness of the demonic cultivators during that time. 15 Paragons from the 5 Great Sects were assassinated and the balance of power tilted. The population in the fertile plain was at least 10 times higher than that of the Limitless Mountains. Hence the fertile plains were able to produce more talents and more Paragons. No matter what Era it was, the number of Paragons that lead the Martial Alliance were much higher than the number of Paragons among the demonic cultivators. The Blood Moon Era began when the balance completely broke.

Slowly but steadily, the Heavenly Demon sect was sinking its teeth into the Martial Alliance. The amount of commoners killed during this Era exceeded 3 Billion. The common people suffered countless atrocities under the wicked hands of the Demonic cultivators. Blood flowed like water during that period.

It was during these times that the Origin Sword sect produced an absolute genius. Uncountable demonic cultivators fell to his sword. The 20th Origin Sword Sect Master and the 16th Commander General of the Martial Alliance, Wang Weisheng, single handedly brought an end to the Blood Moon Era. The Absolute Sword Paragon that spread fear through the ranks of the demonic cultivators. He sought to end the horror-filled era and end it he did.

The battle between the Absolute Sword Paragon and the 23rd Heavenly Demon was legendary. A moment that history would never forget. At first due to his realm advantage, the Heavenly Demon dominated the battle. At the most crucial moment, Wang Weisheng entered into a state of understanding and defied all odds. His sword entered into an unknown realm. He was still a Paragon yet his sword had achieved the true absolute. A fierce battle followed. None could withstand the aura of the two combatants.

It was the Heavenly Demon sect that had to retreat first. The Paragon's from the Martial Alliance outnumbered those from the demonic cult. Although the battle was a draw, the Martial Alliance had won the war.

In true demonic fashion, the 23rd Heavenly Demon stepped down to atone for his failure. After another 100 years as the Origin Sword Sect Master, Wang Weisheng stepped down from the post and after another 30 years he stepped down from his position as the Commander General of the Martial Alliance. He disappeared from the martial world as soon as he stabilized the situation in the fertile lands.

The door of the small shack opened with creek as an old man and a child looked at each other.

A moment that would be forever remembered as the greatest changing point in the history of both worlds. Wang Weisheng had come in contact with Lucas Malcolm.

Fate was scary, incredibly scary.

Wang Weisheng lived purely for the sack of the people. The atrocities he saw while he was a child forged his resolve. After spending majority of his life plowing down demonic cultivators, he decided to spend his remaining time observing the world and improving his sword.

During his travels, he came across the small village of Hanjie in the Shinhao province ruled by the Origin Sword sect. Unlike his usual self, he stayed in the village disguised as an ordinary old man. He stayed in Hanjie for one reason and one reason only, Spatial fluctuations.

He found out the presence of an underdeveloped Space pathway leading to an unknown location. He bought the land and made a small shack around the area to prevent accidents. He continued to stay at the village just to be cautious. He had set up a array around the shack to keep away the villagers. He made sure no one went near the shack and yet when he came back from his walk, some child was inside the shack. That meant that whoever was inside the shack came from the Space pathway. The possibility amazed him.

Both of them were analyzing each other.

'An ordinary old man..... no, He's a cultivator and a incredibly strong one at that. His very presence generates sharpness. I feel like he can kill me with just a glance. I can't read him. He doesn't fit the description of the current Heavenly Demon.... wait, time moves different in Azure. It moves much faster than time on Earth. The time progression speed of Azure should have became equal to that of Earth on the day the Astral Integration, if I'm not to off. That means I could possibly lived for centuries in Azure without a day going past on Earth. The absence of a higher form of energy makes Earth flow much slower compared to planets with integral energy forms. A crazy situation and a strong old man. The only person that should have this kind of presence in the history of Azure can only be him. The Absolute Sword Paragon, Wang Weisheng.'

The old man had much more simpler thoughts.

'A child maybe 4 or 5 years old. He seems to be wearing some incredibly weird clothes. Considering the fact that he came from another part of the universe, it is not that strange. Yet there was something weird about him.... his cynical eyes, they seem to be analyzing me. There is not doubt that he is human and he is not a threat to me. For now, there is no need to overthink it. I will just ask him directly.'

"Child, can you explain your situation to me? After all, I might be the only one who could possibly help you", said Wang Weisheng as he squatted on the dusty floor.

'He already knows that I'm not from this world. He must have set up some kind of countermeasure to make sure no one entered this shack. He has easily lived at least thrice as long as I have but I'm confident I can lie to him without getting caught. I can't let him know about the regression nor the existence of the Battle God Codex. The language spoken in Azure, Sichuan, was incredibly similar to Mandarin but just in case I should pretend that I'm surprised by the similarity of the two languages. I'm going to be a random 'incredibly mature for my age' kid from Earth who was unlucky enough to be caught up in an undeveloped Space pathway. I feel bad to lie to such a great man but the consequences of him knowing the future can completely mess up history as I know it. '

"Am I in China, Uncle?"

"China? We are in Hanjie village located in the Shinhao province."

"Hanjie? Shinhao? Village? Province? Are you mad, Uncle? Those sound like names from back in the 19th century. If you don't take me back home, I'll tell the police. I bet they searching for me right now."

'This really does makes me curious about his world. He is only a small child. I should try to gain his trust first and hopefully make him understand the situation.' thought Wang Weisheng as he slowly stood up.

He then open the door, went outside and shut the door behind him.

"Where are you going, Uncle?! Let me come as well."

He tried slam the wall to make it more believable. About a minute later, the old man came back to the shack. He sighed as he heard the kid slam the door for the fifth time. He opened the door and stopped the little kid by the head before the kid could slam into him. He then threw a bunch of clothes at the kid.

"Where those and come out." He said as he closed the door behind him.

'Clothes common children wear in Azure, huh. It really looks like what the Chinese wore during the olden era. People from Azure never saw the need to improve there technology. For them the presence of Qi was enough. OH! Fits nicely. Must have been made for four year old children.'

Wearing the clothes the Sword Paragon gave him, he opened the door of the shack.

"What are you trying to.... Where am I?!"

On either side of a mud road, were relatively small houses that looked like they were from the pre-modern China. The small shack stood out like a sore thumb yet no one noticed it. Running onto the mud road, Lucas looked around at the amazing scene in front of his eyes. People filled the street. Some walking freely whereas some carried sacks on their shoulders. There were few people riding cart pulled horses and bulls. You could see the houses becoming more bigger and stylish the more you went to the center of the village.

"Shall we go for a walk, child?"

"Okay..."

And so the entire day went past as the old man slowly explain everything the child needed to know about Azure. They managed to tour the entire village before sundown.

"Uncle, can I learn martial arts?"

"Yes. Anyone can, as long they the possess the talent and perseverance needed for cultivation."

"Can you teach me?"

"Ha, we will have to wait and see. For now follow me."

Wang Weisheng slowly led Lucas to the outskirts of the village until they reached the village walls.

"Hold my hand, child."

"But you told me that there were dangerous beasts outside the village."

"Don't worry, child. I am sure they won't hurt us today. After all, today seems like a perfect night for a picnic." said Wang Weisheng as he looked at the clear night sky.
