Chapter 8 - Define your terms chain

It's been a week already since we started sending these everyday. How long exactly are you thinking we should keep this up before telling me some more contact info?

So, we have established that both my parents are alive and I have an older sister and a younger brother. My turn: are your parents around? what are they like?

Hmm, I guess I hadn't really thought much about how long to make you keep sending these. I guess at least a month or so?

Fair, I should tell you about my family after all those probing questions about yours. Have you told your sister about this, by the way?

My Mom threw a chair across the room when I told her about everything that happened to me that night. Our neighbors actually called the police for suspected abuse. My Dad is on a business trip again, but I bet he's going to react just as badly when he hears about it. They're pretty awesome in general. Their work keeps them busy a lot, but they always made sure at least one of them was home with us, and spent all the time they could with us.

A month?! Seriously? Is that for your name or your phone number?

I did actually tell my sister. Apparently she DID come back at some point during the night, and decided she, in her words, "didn't want to scar her eyes by witnessing whatever activities were producing the sounds coming through the hotel door." I haven't told any of the others, though. I figured I should at least get your name before doing that.

So, your parents are protective, busy, and as caring as they can manage to be. I noticed you said "us." How many siblings do you have, and where do you place in that line up?

Yup. Want it to be longer? That's for both. First you do a month for a burner phone number, then another for my name. Maybe if we're still going at that point I'll give you my real number after another.

LOL, I think I would love your sister, she sounds amazing. Also, nope. See requirements listed above for my name. Nice try, though. But, if you're waiting for my name before telling the rest of your family, you're gonna be waiting minimum of two more months.

Yup, that sums my parents up well enough. I have three siblings: an older sister, and twin younger brothers. There's a bit of an age gap between my sister and me, so sometimes she feels more like a second mom than a sister. Her nickname for me and the twins when we were younger was the three "must-run-here-s." We got into quite a lot of mischief together, and it always resulted in us hiding behind her.

Nope. If the minimum limit is a month, I'll take it. Burner phone, huh? You are taking no chances with this, are you? How do you know I won't just hack your email address to find your IP address and investigate you for myself?

I'm sure you would. Most of the non-simpering girls do. She's got a ton of charisma. And, sighhh, I guess I'll just have to tell them I am trading emails with a mystery girl who slept with me and took a picture of my face as proof before disappearing without telling me her name.

So, you were a mischief maker when you were younger. Got any interesting stories you can share? Daily emails could potentially get pretty boring over several months. Although, I'm guessing once I get the phone number I'm allowed to text instead?

Yup. No chances you get more than I want you to from what I give you. As to the hacking, I already said that was free game, way back in my first email. Also any private investigators or security footage from the hotel is also there. Mostly because I don't have a way to prevent those from being affective methods of tracing me.

"Non-simpering"? I take it you have a lot of experience with the simpering kind? Again, nope. You could tell them I was some shady loan shark and it still wouldn't make me give you my name.

I'll tell you if I get bored. I might share a story or two, but this kind of thing isn't gonna help you get the time requirement down. Yes, texting is allowed once the phone number has been received.
