Chapter 1 - Chapter One: The North Pole

Master Jinora pulled the blankets off of her student. "Rise and shine! Today is the big day."

"Big day? For what?" Harmony tried her best to retrieve the warm covers back from her teacher.

"You, Harmony, are going to broadcast your beautiful face via mover." Her teacher came down close and cupped her face with her hands. "Aren't you excited?"

"Sorry to burst your bubble, Master Jinora. I'm no mover star."

"That's where you're wrong. I've had to pull a few strings, talked to Bolin a little, and managed to get you an interview to show to everyone the new Avatar has been found."

"I thought people already knew about me. You know, giant billboards in the city with my face on them. How did anyone even get pictures of me?"

Jinora laughed. "The tabloids are bothersome. We get some sneaky photographers around here sometimes. This is going to be very different though. Your face won't just be in Republic City. The whole world is going to see you."

"The w-whole world? How are we supposed to do that? Jin has a bounty over my head. Wouldn't we get caught if we stepped foot anywhere near city?"

"Who said anything about going into Republic City? We are going.. to the NWT!" Jinora tossed a few clothes over top of Harmony. "Get dressed because we leave soon."

"The.. NWT?" Harmony's head tilted to the side slightly. She wracked through her memories, yet she couldn't recognize the abbreviation.

"The Northern Water Tribe, so the North Pole." Her eyebrows furrowed. "Have you never left Republic City? Scratch that, do you know much about the other four nations?"

"My schooling on everything is slim to none. Now, quiz me on something about the streets, and I've got it. I've never been too far from the alleys or even the city." She opened her mouth, yawning loudly with outstretched arms. "Is it really cold?"

"Extremely, so dress warm." She waved her hand and left the dorm room.

Harmony's eyes glanced over the coats and colors layering the bed. "Hmm..." A certain red scarf had caught her eye. 'This.. looks familiar, but I.. I can't put my finger on it.'

"Harmony! I'll be with Mako, Asami, and Bolin by the stables." Jinora called out.

"Coming!" The younger of the two quickly scanned through the fabrics and put on a simple overcoat and gloves with her old boots and new pants.

She ran quickly towards the gigantic sky bison and smiled slightly, pulling her hair up into a bun with small strands framing her face. "Good morning, everyone."

"Heyyyy, Harmony!" Bankei drifted off of the bison and ran to the older girl. "You ready to visit the NWT?"

"As I'll ever be. I've never been before."

"But aren't you a waterbender?"

She nodded. "I was born in Republic City. At least that's what my mom told me."

"Not everyone who bends the elements has the opportunity to go to where their element comes from." Jinora looked to her son with a response to his question.

"I guess you're right." Bankei shrugged, but not before thrusting himself back onto the sky bison.

"It's alright, Harmony. We have some work to do there with your bending anyways." Master Jinora smiled and placed a hand on her back. "Since you bend water naturally, the North seems like the best place to start your refined training. We can't really work on your waterbending skills here. There's also some people we all think you should meet."

Harmony smiled and pushed herself in the air with a small spin onto the bison. Jinora followed her, but sat at the reigns. "Everyone ready? Pepper, yip yip." The bison growled and started floating along with the wind.

"So, Harmony, are you feeling ok?" Bolin playfully punched her shoulder.

"I'm honestly not sure. I'm doing.. fine for now."

"That's good! Fine is a perfect feeling to have." They all stood quiet for a few moments.

"Just let her be, Bolin. She probably has a lot more on her mind. We're here for you if you ever need to talk or anything." Asami took Harmony's hands in her own with a bright smile.

"Thanks. I'm glad you guys are with me." Harmony's signature smile glowed in the sun for a second until she felt a cool air surround her. "Damn, it's getting chilly. Ha ha." Her arms instinctively wrapped around themselves to keep her warm.

"I told you it gets cold in the NWT." Jinora smirked and pet the bisons head. "Keep going, Pepper."

The Northern Port was bustling with people and their things. Everything seemed so intriguing with women who had men carrying their bags from shopping trips, various workers showing off fish and different spoils from their travels, and children were running and laughing.

The flying bison's feet landed on the harbor and let out a loud roar. "Good girl, Pepper. I'll find somewhere to bring her to rest while you all go find Varrick." Jinora waited until everyone was off the bison and lead the giant beast with a small tug.

Harmony held her arms close and shivered slightly. "W-w-w-wow! It's really full at the p-port."

Asami chuckled. "Are you feeling alright, Harmony?"

"Of course! I just.. I'm not built for this weather. The city was never THIS cold." Her body continued to shake until she felt an elbow tap her side.

"Nice scarf. It used to be mine." Mako grabbed another grey jacket and put it over her shoulders.

"Thanks, Mako. Honestly, it felt super familiar. I just couldn't put a finger on it." She put her arms through the thicker coat and sighed with relief. "I'd probably be a popsicle by now it it wasn't for this."

"Don't mention it. I like to be prepared for anything." He motioned to the small group. "Let's keep moving. We shouldn't stay here too long."

Bolin smiled brightly and gasped at the sights. "I don't even remember the last time we were all here together. Can we please get some seaweed noodles? I'm starving!"

"Bo, we didn't come here for that." Mako sighed deeply. "Let's go."

"I'm still hungry.."

"It's alright, Bolin. We can probably get some noodles later." Asami ruffed his hair and smiled.

"Yes! That's a great idea, Asami. We can take Harmony, too!"

The group continued on until they reached a small building. Asami held the door open for them all. "I arranged a meeting here. We'll be alone for the most part. Harmony, wait." Bolin and Mako walked in, but Asami grabbed Harmony's arm carefully.

"There's something we.. I should tell you."

"Ok? What is it, Asami?"

"Well.. we brought you here for the mover, as you know, but we have another surprise for you and.. I don't know how to tell you this in any way."

"Hey, you can tell me anything. I won't take it in a bad way, promise. Just come out and tell me." Harmony chuckled with that signature smile that brought back so many memories into Asami's mind.

"Jinora and I both decided that, maybe, we should--"

"Senna!? Tonraq!? Korra's parents are here too, Asami!" Bolin screamed loudly, alerting the now shocked and scared Harmony.

"Oh.. that's what you meant by hard way, huh?"
