Chapter 11 - Crying Over a Trash Man

"Oh," she exclaimed. "Mr. Wright, I am Trina Hudson," she said and she extended her hand towards him. She stared at it some more before she withdrew it.

He had mere seconds to pull himself together and then he finally realized that he had seen her somewhere. He squinted, focusing on her face and not her scent, but her face and the look in her eye.

He knew her. He had seen the same startled expression in them from the confines of the wood. She had been sitting near the window and spotted him.

The information overwhelmed him immediately. As calmly as possible, he started to speak, "Miss Wright, I think you need to leave."

Her eyes filled with confusion and then a little fear. She gaped for a moment and then took a step back before dashing towards the door where Randall heard her pull something off the hook on the wall and slam the door.

Her motion caused a waft of foresty aroma to hit his nose and he literally felt his body buzz, He placed his palms flat on the desk, reigning himself in. The little telecom on the desk broke under the pressure of his hand.

He didn't seem to care.

What the fuck was the lady in the window doing in his house as his PA? Did he have to live through the shame of being around the woman who had caught him pooping in the middle of the forest?

She hadn't known it was him. Neither would she find out, but just the shame of being caught haunted him.

Dino looked up at him in confusion.

'Why did you throw the pretty doctor out?' he asked.

Randall looked at his husky and then groaned. "Did she let you in?" he asked.

Dino yelped. 'It was getting cold outside and I scratched the door. She is so nice.'

Randall rolled his eyes. "Let's get you something to eat. I need to clean up the house."

"Blow," Kylie commanded as she handed Trina a tissue.

Trina took it from her and wiped her nose. After she had been told to leave by Mr. Wright, she ran to her car and cried all the way to the bar. Kylie had patiently waited and looked concerned when she saw Trina come in.

"Can we get a bucket of ice cream?" she asked the server. The other looked confused until she saw Trina's blotchy face and swollen eyes. The server scurried away and a small tub of ice cream was placed in front of her.

Trina went in, spoon first, without regard.

Kylie scooted her seat to sit next to Trina. "Can you tell me what happened?" she asked.

Trina sniffed. "No, I can't say anything. I just feel like shit."

"You couldn't complete the task?"

"No. I called Kim and thank god she knew someone who was happy to help me out. I have the guy on speed dial now."

She dipped her spoon into the tub and came up with a hulking scoop of ice cream. Before putting it in her mouth she continued, "I drove over to the guy, got everything notarized, booked it back to the office, and tried to salvage the night. I just… had a bad experience. That's all. Work-wise… I did everything right."

Trina ate a chunk of ice cream off the spoon and winced. 'Brain freeze!' she wanted to scream. She took a gulp of water to help herself, but the tears still rolled down her eyes sporadically.

"Hey, ma'am. Don't cry over a trash bag of a man, he is not worth your time!" someone yelled from the other side of the bar. Trina dipped her head to look at the man who had spoken and then laughed.

"I'm just frustrated about corporate life. No boys!" she shouted back.

The guy went eerily silent and Trina felt a little bad. At least she had to thank the guy for giving her a laugh and pulling her out of her mopey mood for a quick second.

The man's friends laughed and Trina offered him a grateful smile before going back to her ice cream.

"Down with capitalism, then!" the guy chirped in a smaller voice. Trina choked and then cried through her laugh.

"Ah, so he was having a bad day," Kylie tried to give an alternate explanation. Trina didn't try to hide it.

"It is not okay to treat people rudely," was all she said.

Kylie took a sip of her drink. "Tell me this. Was he as hot in person as he is in photographs and movies?" Trina noticed the glint in her eyes.

She leaned back on the stool and groaned before answering. "Hotter. Definitely hotter."

Kylie groaned with her and they began laughing at the situation. Trina had finally gotten a job with a really hot and young boss. But he was a total ass. She even enjoyed the work she did… most of the time. It seemed that her luck was running out.

It was just weird. She was relieved to see that it was Mr. Wright who had entered the house and the dog was happy, too. But Mr. Wright didn't look happy to see her. Actually, he seemed downright furious for some reason. It was almost like she could feel the emotions rolling off his body before she even knew he was there.

But what reason did he have to be angry with her? She was only doing the job he had asked her to do.

That was what made it infuriating. He was the one who called her so late. He was the reason she had to work hours after she should have left. If he didn't want her in his house when he got home, he should have thought through his demands better.

She wanted to scream.

Her tears were gone and she was downright pissed. She shouldn't be surprised by his behavior. He was a celebrity and rich at that. Of course, he had the same attitude as those people who came to the clinic with their dogs.

Now that she thought about it… Dino, the dog… she had checked him before. She sighed.

The tall, mysterious man she had lusted after was a jerk. Figured.
