Fred Clover is in a hospital, staring down at a older woman who lays motionless on her bed.
Fred Clover: Hey mum, how've you been? Hope the doctors have been treating you well? (Fred asks with a sad smile)
The woman doesn't move or answer Fred, because she was in a comatose state, but that doesn't stop Fred from talking to her.
Fred Clover: Things have been going well for me, I've got another teaching job, and I promise you that I won't lose it this time. I just can't help it, anytime I'm away from you, I wonder if you have already woken up, and I want to be with you when that happens, to explain to you what you've missed since you've been asleep... I heard that Dad is in jail again, for identity theft or something like that. I really hope he doesn't get out, at least that way he can pay for all the pain he caused us... Emma says hi, she wants you to know how much she loves you, how much we both love you. And I promise you that, we will never give up on you. We will wait for as long as it takes, until we see you awake again... Have a nice day, mum. See you later. (Fred said before kissing the woman's forehead, and leaving the hospital for his job)
Fred works as a teacher at Pride High School, and the true reason he is always late for most of his classes is because he likes to visit his sick mother. It also doesn't help that he hates vehicles, and prefers to use bicycles as his only means of transport. This habit has gotten him fired from many jobs, but luckily he is well loved at Pride High, and so he get's away with being late sometimes, but he has been warned to let it stop.
Fred pumps his legs to go faster on his bicycle, not wanting to be later than he already was. Even though he is riding pretty fast, he is a responsible rider, and would never endanger himself, or others on the road. But sometimes it doesn't matter how obedient you are to the rules of the road, accidents, can be caused by a single irresponsible road user.
The screams of joy of a young woman echoes through the streets, as she speedily drives an expensive red sports car, owned by her boyfriend, Seth Wild.
Seth Wild: Slow down, darling. Although I enjoy a good joy ride, getting someone killed is not on my to do list. (Seth tells the girl)
"Boo, Seth! You're no fun! I thought you were the king of the city!" (The girl tells him with a smile, still speeding the car)
Seth Wild: I am, but even a king follows the rules, and I don't want to deal with the cops today. So please slow down, Candy. (Seth tells her calmly)
Candy: Fine, I'll slow down. Woah! (Candy yells before suddenly hitting the brakes, but the fast car doesn't stop fast enough, and rams into a man on his bike)
Fred Clover is launched off his bicycle, slamming down hard on the ground. The school teacher lays motionless on the ground, much to the dismay of Candy.
Candy: Oh my God! I killed him! He's dead! (Candy screams in horror)
Seth Wild: Calm down, he is very much alive. I saw him twitch. (Seth says as he calmly gets out of the car, walking up to the downed body of Fred Clover)
Seth's head moves from side to side, taking note of the amount of people who saw what happened, and then, he releases an invisible pulse of red energy from his body, which affects every single onlooker.
A feeling of great fear washes over all the witnesses, forcing them to turn away and mind their own business. Seth then bends down next to the teacher's body, and shakes it to wake him up.
Fred slowly regains consciousness, feeling very confused and disoriented, and then he sees Seth Wild, staring at him from his bending position.
Seth Wild: And that's why I don't like bikes. If you know that you can't afford to buy a car, then maybe it's better you just walk, loser! (Seth tells him before sticking his hand into his pocket)... Here, buy yourself something nice, and forget that this ever happened. (Seth said as he threw a wad of cash onto Fred's body)
Fred Clover: Are you kidding me?! (Fred yells in anger, refusing to even touch the money)
Seth Wild: The money there is more than enough, I won't be giving you a cent more. (Seth tells him)
Fred Clover: I don't want your money! (Fred yells as he picks up the money, throwing it at Seth's face and knocking away his expensive glasses)
Seth Wild: Okay then, what do you want? (Seth asks as he angrily rises to his feet)
Fred Clover: For one I would like an apology! Your girlfriend there almost killed me, and you think that can be resolved with money?! (Fred said as he painfully and angrily got back on his feet)
Seth Wild: Trust me, if I resolve this any other way, you won't like it very much. (Seth said ominously, his eyes briefly glowing red)
Candy: I'm so sorry for hitting you! I was distracted and...
Seth Wild: Don't apologize, Candy! Not to this nobody! (Seth warns her)
Fred Clover: Then I guess I'll just let the authorities handle this. We'll see how calm you are when the police arrive. (Fred says as he pulls out his undamaged phone, and begins to dial 911)
Seth Wild: Put, The Phone, Down!!! (Seth bellows, his eyes now burning crimson red)
Fred Clover: Your eyes, why are they like that? (Fred asks in terror, his body literally trembling before Seth)
Seth Wild: I felt bad for you at first, but then you just had to go and disrespect me! And no one, disrespects, me! (Seth said as he places a hand on Fred's shoulder, further enhancing the fear he was feeling)
Fred Clover: I can't breathe. Who is this guy? Why am I so scared right now? (Fred thought in fear, sweat literally pouring down his face)... I have to get away, I have to run! (Fred thought before he finally breaks free from Seth's hold, running away from the scene without ever looking back)
Seth leaves the cash and the glasses on the ground, heading for the car without even saying a word. Once in the car Seth makes himself comfortable, and he looks at Candy, his eyes already back to normal.
Seth Wild: Let's go. (Seth tells her simply)
Candy: What did you say to that guy? Why was he so scared of you? (Candy nervously asks)
Seth Wild: Let's just say, he realized too late, that I am the king of this city! (Seth confidently tells her)
Fred Clover has finally stopped running, but as he is bending down to catch his breath, a shadowy figure looms over him, a smile, on it's silhouette of a face.
