Eve yawned, stretching out her limbs lazily like a cat. She turned to her side, refusing to open her eyes even with the afternoon sun's rays blaring against her well-rested face, snugly cocooned between the thick silken bedspread and the warm soft cushion of her king-sized bed that she was fast getting used to.
But her stomach rumbled like every other day that she had spent in that blissful room, covered in the memory of his touch from their habitual midnight rendezvous. The very thought of him made her smile, pushing color into her cheeks as she lazily blinked her eyes open, only to reach over to the space she knew would be empty by now.
Eve grabbed the pillow next to hers, crushing it to her face as she took a deep breath. His sweet scent still lingered on the cushion cover, making her giddy with joy. She got him- the man of her dreams. He was hers. At least at midnight, she added, almost as an afterthought.
