Unaware of her mate's thoughts, Versailles's eyes kept shifting upward as she trekked through the lava. The air here was thinner and hotter, making it an arduous task just to breathe.
Thanks to Ramose blocking most of the hot air from her face, Versailles was able to maintain her pace. But as they entered the depth of the sea of lave, the temperature of the heat increased and the roaring flames in the distance blinded their sight.
This made it even more difficult to spot the flame beasts camouflaged in the region.
"Light, slow down. I sense something."
Versailles immediately slowed down her pace and vigilantly looked around.
Aside from the occasional puffs of air released, the lava was still and only flames roared ahead. No beast or other creature was in sight.
