Chapter 21 - Badassdinkle

Without giving the details about the girl, Leandre walked into the bathroom for a shower to get rid of the cow dung smell from his body, leaving Knox with questions.

Xanth and Knox shared puzzling glances at each other, taken aback by the girl's courage in blasting Leandre. This was an unusual turn of events because Leandre was often the one who attacked women who approached him with ulterior motives. On the other hand, Dustin was engrossed in the National Geographic Channel, depicting an anaconda suffocating a deer by constricting its body until it died. Before he saw Anaconda devour the deer, Xanth snatched the remote and changed to the news channel.

"Come on, Xanny! It was close!" Dustin yelled in frustration missing the chance to see the preying look in Anaconda's eyes when it swallowed the dear.

"You did the same when I watched the news a while ago," Xanth retorted. The feud between Xanth and Dustin always comes here. While Dustin is a passionate animal lover, Xanth holds the opposite and dislikes animals. The scene of the boneless reptile constricting the deer made Xanth puke. He couldn't stand watching the scene for another second. He is not sadistic or cruel. He just doesn't have an innate fondness for animals.

Meanwhile, Knox impatiently awaited Leandre's arrival, his focus solely on learning about the girl. He ignored the creature rumoured to wander in the Elatias forest, for he had time to worry. As soon as Leandre emerged from the bathroom, Knox immediately bombarded him with questions.

"Is she one of your fans?" His eyes fixed on Leandre's impressive eight ridges of power packs on his body. Is this the reason women are going crazy for him? This prompted Knox to consider if he, too, should consider adding packs to his body. But then again, he is too lazy, and Knox dismissed the idea.

"I wish she is not." Leandre's voice filled with fury. The water droplets glistened on his wet hair, and the sunlight shining through the glass windows made them sparkle like diamonds. With purposeful strides, Leandre made his way to the walk-in closet and grabbed a navy blue T-shirt from the wardrobe.

Leandre thought Knox's words as he slipped into the T-shirt, his muscles rippled beneath the fabric stretching across his chiselled chest and arms.

"For the least, she should be thanking me." He was not just handsome but a man of action because he caught her body securely and saved her front tooth from breaking. What did she give in return?

She repeatedly criticized him for damaging her plants. She didnot act surprised when she saw him, making Leandre consider two options. She was playing hard to get his attention, or she really didn't know who he was. Given her self-centred demeanour, Leandre thought it was the latter. Madam must be too focused on learning the foul language that she didnot have the time to learn the ABCDs of football, Leandre noted.

"If not your fan, why did she call you Little Giraffe?" Knox asked. "Did you threaten to kill her?"

"Do I appear to be a killer in your eyes?" Leandre glared at Knox as he pulled the Macbook from the desk drawer and sat on the bed to check the emails.

"She hit my car and escaped," Leandre said in between.

"What!" Xanth and Dustin fighting each other, stopped and turned to Leandre.

Leandre began explaining behind the car towing to his friends, who were desperately looking forward to hearing. He left out the fight that happened at the plant nursery. He was aware that if Knox were to learn of the insults she had hurled at him, he would use them on him at every opportunity he got. An actor she is! Leandre fisted. She had pretended to be a docile girl, addressing him as 'sir', but as soon as she saw an opportunity, she revealed her true colours.

After listening to the entire story, the three friends burst into laughter. "That was one adventurous trip."

"I liked how she patiently waited for the opportunity and attacked you." Dustin laughed, shaking his head.

"Like a professional con artist." Xanth joined Dustin, recalling someone with the same qualities that Leandre described.

"You should have asked for her name, Leandre," Knox grumbled. "A wasted opportunity." If Leandre had found her name, getting her information from social media would have been a cakewalk.

''Seems like our Knox is interested in her," Dustin said, gazing at Knox. "Right, Knox?"

"I am curious to know why she called him Little Giraffe," Knox pondered. Definitely, it's not because of Leandre's height.

Knowing Little girl's name? Leandre thought hard about the idea that struck his mind. He could pull the database record of all the people from this country if he wanted to find her. Although it's tedious to search one by one since he has only seen her face, she stomped on his ego, and his ego is worth all the shot.

Leandre decided, a smirk playing at the corner of his lips.

....

Unaware that she was the centre of heated discussion at the other end, Clary bribed the security guards at the front gate into keeping the car dents a secret.

She then parked the car in the garage and sheathed it with the car cover to conceal the dents from her father's notice. "I should get this repaired before dad finds out." She mumbled, taking the plant pots from the backseat, and made her way into the house, all the way thanking the towing uncles for coming right in time and saving her 3000 euros.

She walked inside the house and saw Aunt Theida, their maid clicking pictures of her grandmother in the living room with softboxes set up for extra light. She wore a Kaftan suit, adorning her neck with a crochet necklace. She pulled her hair back into a messy bun and let a tendril of her hair down on either side of her face. Clary assumed it must be for her social media post. "One is a Golf devotee, and the other is a social media freak," Clary mumbled with disinterest.

Grandma Audrey, popularly known as 'Badassdinkle' to her Instagram followers. She was branded as social media queen with over four million Instagram followers, giving tough competition to celebrities. Five years back, Clary taught her Grannypie how to use Facebook and Instagram to pass the boredom.

That's all! She has turned this hobby into her full-time job.
