As Clary paced back and forth in the corridor, her eyes remained fixed on the closed door in front of her. Sh made her way towards the end of the corridor and peered outside through the high-ceiling glass window. Down there, she could see the bustling crowd in the pavilion, laughing and cheering as they enjoyed the dance performances. Yet, despite the joyous atmosphere surrounding her, Clary's mind remained in turmoil, her thoughts scattered and confused as she replayed the conversation that happened inside the room.
She likes Larisa and Alistair. They treat her like their own daughter. With such loving and welcoming in-laws, she knows that she will never have to endure the dreaded mother-in-law issues that plague so many marriages.
