Hebe jolted upwards when she heard the creaking of her door, she held her breath and narrowed her eyes at the stranger who was pushing her door open in the middle of the night. When the stranger lifted the candle he was holding up to his face and smiled, the young goddess sighed in relief.
"Hey, I hope I didn't startle you," Lynceus spoke softly as he made his way to the bed. He placed the candle on the small bedside table and cupped Hebe's cheek in his hand. "Are you alright? You look terrified."
"I thought you were someone else," Hebe responded. She thought that maybe it was the old wizard Castor or the queen who had come to take her away from her little family.
The dark haired man leaned in and gave her a soft kiss of the lips, "someone else? Is there someone else who sneaks in here when I'm not around?" Lynceus teased.
Hebe forced a smile and shook her head, "of course not, you just startled me is all. I thought it was thief or something."
