Amanda Jacobes hated men. She had already come to that conclusion a long time ago.
There were good men in the world she that for a fact but the majority of them were too hatred to find. Like sifting for gold in sand.
Every time a client entered into her office crying her her rating of men went down a notch.
Why couldn't men stick to their partners? She had asked herself that million dollar question a lot of time and had fallen short of the answer.
Two days ago she had an encounter with one of her clients husband Luke. Her client had wanted to end the marriage because she had suspected that her husband wasn't faithful but she wasn't so sure. So she had come to Amanda to try and get Luke into a compromising position to see how Luke would react.
Amanda already knew how it would play out even before she had accepted her clients offer.
All men liked the idea of free pussy even though they might decline at first.
She wasn't surprised at Luke's reaction that night.
Today she sat on her swivel chair and watched as another of her client sobbed quietly in her office. She had concluded that this client was confused.
Usually most women who had come into her office usually had a goal in mind. From confirming suspicious relationships to ending toxic marriages.
But this client was different, she wasn't even sure of what she wanted. At first she had said she wanted to confirm if her boyfriend was cheating on her, on the other hand she had changed her mind and had said that she loved her boyfriend too much to do that to him.
Talk about twisted love. As minutes passed and the woman remained there sobbing
Amanda was starting to get quite impatient.
"Look Danielle, if you have made up your mind that your husband isn't faithful to you anymore then its okay. The rest is up to me to take care of the situation and clear your doubts.
Isn't that why you had come to this place."
Danielle stopped sobbing long enough to look at Amanda through tear filled eyes.
"Oh…I don't know anymore but he assures me that he loves me" Danielle said fresh tears starting to fall from her face.
Amanda almost laughed sarcastically."I am sure that he says that but I need the go ahead signal from
you, only then can I find out how truly genuine his feelings are
for you."
Danielle shook her head whilst muttering.
"No, No…I can't do it."
Amanda's irritation was growing by the second. She sighed and
said.
"Look Danielle I understand what you are going through. Believe me I went through a similar situation of yours a while a year back. I'm telling you that if you don't arrest this matter now you'll be sorry that you didn't afterwards."
Danielle nodded shakily and opened her bag. She pulled out a photograph and passed it to Amanda.
Amanda took the photograph and looked at it. At first glance Amanda thought the man belonged to some kind of cult or something.
He was wearing a sleeveless black shirt and denim jeans. He was heavily tattooed and it even ran all the way up to his neck. He had a piercing in his ear and was clean shaven. His haircut ended in a skin cut.
Amanda shivered when she saw the picture.
"Are you sure that is him?" Amanda asked hoping that Danielle had given her the wrong picture.
Danielle gave her a funny look."All right ill find out and give you my feedback this night.
"Thank you" Danielle said wiping her tears and leaving the office.
Men. Amanda thought grimly.
She picked up her phone and decided to call her parents. Her mother picked on the third ring.
"Hello mom."
"Hey peanut how are you doing." Her mother said cheerily.
"I'm okay mom. What about dad how is he doing, is he okay has he recovered."
"Yes he has but you know how you dad is about work he went back to the office."
"Again" Amanda shrieked.
"Oh dear you know how your father is if he isn't doing something productive he becomes restless. I had to let him go."
"All right mom but make sure he doesn't get into any accidents again, please."
"Yes sir" her mother joked.
"Tell dad I love him, I love you too mom. You both should take care of yourselves."
"We love you too honey."
Amanda was about to end the call when her mother told her to wait. Amanda knew what was coming next, it was always at the tip of her mother's tongue anytime she called.
"I know it's been a year since…you know Sebastian but couldn't you give this thing another try."
Amanda couldn't see why her mother was always forcing her to find another partner to replace her ex-boyfriend.
"I'll try mom" Amanda sighed.
"You always say that whenever I bring up this topic."
"What do you want me to say mom."
"You can at least tell me you have found somebody. That would be nice for starters."
Amanda rolled her eyes. That wasn't happening anytime soon.
"I would find someone mom I promise."
"You promise?"
"Yeah I promise."
"All right take care dear make sure you look after youself."
"I will mom, bye." Amanda said cutting the call.
She blew air out of her mouth and returned to the paper work
infront of her.

Amanda opened the door of the apartment she shared with her
friend Chloe.
As usual Chloe wasn't around. She was probably off on duty or
something. Like her Chloe worked for the society.
She closed the doors and dropped the keys on the little glass table in the center of the living room and headed over to the kitchen to make a cup of coffee.
Chloe's house was nice. In fact it was too luxurious for a spinster.
The living room had a shade of green which was Chloe's
favorite color. Everything from the paint down to the rug in the
center of the room on which the little glass table which she had
dropped her keys on earlier was green.
Sometimes Amanda found it too overwhelming.
The kitchen at least wasn't a shade of green. Milky white ceramic tiles covered the walls giving the kitchen an immaculate look.
Amanda got a cup and headed over to the coffee mixer. She needed to have a clear head this night.
Amanda hadn't always been living with Chloe. She started living with her a year back after Sebastian had cheated on her. One of the things she loved was that the society taught its workforce basic karate which had come useful to Amanda in various occasions.
She took the coffee and went back to the living room. Plopping down on a green sofa she took out the picture Danielle had given her earlier.
She shuddered. There was something about the guy that she
just didn't like. She didn't know if it was the tattoos.
Sebastian had a tattoo.
The door of the apartment suddenly opened and Chloe stepped
inside bearing a huge grin on her face.
"Baby girl" Chloe said jumping on the sofa and hugging Amanda
excitedly.
"You wouldn't believe what happened today babe."
Amanda loved Chloe's stories. Unlike her Chloe was a veteranin the society so she had gone on more duties than her and equally had more clients.
"The guy proposed to me on the spot."
Amanda almost fell of the sofa in shock.
"I'm dead serious girl. The mother fucker proposed to me. He actually knelt down and brought out a ring."
"Where the hell did the ring come from" Amanda giggled.
"I don't know it just appeared. Eventually his wife came along and things got real messy. I had to bail." Chloe laughed.
Chloe was beautiful, drop dead gorgeous to be precise. She was tall and had supple curves, a rich length of glossy black hair stopped at her shoulders and her piercing blue eyes gave her an ethereal look.
Amanda dwarfed in looks in comparison to Chloe.
"Hey look at this" Amanda said showing the photograph Danielle had given her.
"Who is that" Chloe said amusement in her voice.
"Someone I'm supposed to meet."
Chloe dropped the picture and looked at Amanda.
"You look disturbed." She said.
"I don't have a good feeling about this particular guy Chloe. I always like listening to my guts."
"Do it for the money baby, girl. You know your parents and yourself need that money. Forget every other thing" Chloe said hugging Amanda sideways.
"I will" Amanda said kissing the top of Chloe's forehead.
"You are not my mother" Chloe said playfully.
******************************************
Danielle had called Amanda and had given her the location of the place where she might meet her boyfriend.
Amanda was sporting all black. She wasn't going with the seductive look, instead she was going with the kick some ass look.
Seduction wasn't the point this night.
Amanda wasn't surprised when she found out that the location was a bar.
It was situated in a place Amanda didn't like. She drove her car admist a garbage littered ground towards the street where the bar was located.
The bar door was painted a bright red as if the bar owner didn't want people to miss it. Amanda turned off the ignition and got out of the car.
A single yellow bulb hung from the wall atop the bar door and it was casting a sickly yellow light around the door.
Amanda headed over to the door and entered inside. The bar was very noisy as a lot of people were inside.
The bulbs inside the bar were giving off an ugly red glow and Amanda shuddered. She didn't know why she wasn't just feeling comfortable.
Something strong was booming on the loudspeaker and judgingby the sound Amanda guessed it was rock music.
She went over to the bar."Whiskey" she said.
The barman was tall and built like a truck. His hairstyle was a Mohawk…a yellow Mohawk. He had piercings in his ears and nose.
He returned with her drink and she paid.
Looking around her Amanda noticed a few things. Almost everyone in the bar was tattooed and had piercings.
Secondly they were all dressed in black. Amanda felt uncomfortable.
Her eyes roved around the bar as she searched for Danielle's boyfriend.
Suddenly her eyes locked onto someone and Amanda wished
she had never seen him.
James was sitting at the east corner of the bar with two people who Amanda assumed were his friends and his eyes never left her face, his grin evil.
He looked different in real life. He looked older… more menacing.
Amanda decided at that moment that she couldn't go through
with the job. She gulped down her drink and rose from her
stool heading for the door.
She didn't care if the money was high she just couldn't go
through with it She exited the door and was taking wide strides towards her
car when she heard a shout.
"Hey!"
Amanda ignored the shout, reaching the car she brought out
the keys and fumbled with the lock.
She was shaking terribly.
Someone dragged her roughly from behind and Amanda turned
to stare into the face of James.
"I'm talking to you newbie you didn't hear me. What are you
doing in my bar?"
From the corner her eyes she could spot James two friends
watching her.
"What do you want?" Amanda asked coldly.
"I want to know what you are doing in my bar, newbie. I know
everyone in that bar and I know a fresh face when I see one.
Who referred you?" James scowled.
Amanda didn't know what the hell James was talking about.
"Fuck off!" she spat.
"That's not the answer to my question newbie" James said
tightening his grip on her arm which was beginning to hurt.
"Let go of me or ill…"
Amanda was suddenly cut short by a wet kiss that was planted on her lips. James tasted like alcohol. Amanda was too shocked she just stayed there trying to gather her wits.
James friends gave whoops and catcalls in the background.
Amanda had never felt so revolted in her entire life. She drew up her knee and hit James squarely in the balls.
As James groaned and drew back she kicked at him connecting
her boots to his head.
James fell down and his two friends rushed forward and grabbed her. Dragging her to the hood of her car they pinned her down.
James stood up cradling his groins and spat.
"I'm gonna fuck you up bitch" he said as he advanced towards
her.
Amanda struggled desperately to get out of the iron grip of the two men who were holding her.
She was suddenly aware of her eyes becoming hot with tears.
"I'll make you sorry for that newbie" James smirked as he
started to undo Amanda's buttons.
"Danielle sent me, please let me go" Amanda cried more out of
fear than of exposing the truth.
"Who the fuck is Danielle" James said as he bent closer to her.
Amanda was thoroughly scared out of her wits.
Had Danielle given her wrong information?
By now all of Amanda's buttons had been undone to reveal her lacy black bra.
"Please" Amanda croaked tears streaming down her face.
"Oh not so tough now are you" James sneered.
Suddenly one of James friends screamed and let go of Amanda.
Without wasting a second Amanda drove her elbow into the other ones face and she was free.
She kicked at James who fell down and came back up a dagger
in his hands and madness in his eyes.
James friend who had first screamed was clutching at a dagger that was buried hilt deep into his leg and was screaming terribly.
The second one who Amanda had hit was getting up from the ground. He was sporting a bloody nose and a gun was in his hand.
There was a noise above her and she turned to see a hoodedfigure on the top of her car.
"That's no way to treat a lady fellas" the figure said.
As quick as lightning the man struck diving for the man with the gun. The man fired but the shot was wide. The hooded man crashed into him and they both rolled to the ground. James was torn between attacking Amanda or going for the hooded figure, finally he went for the hooded figure.
The hooded man had already dealt with the first guy who was unconscious on the ground. He stood up and faced James.
James looked at him and growled. The hooded figure hurled the gun at James who dived for it.
The hooded man crashed into James, bringing him to the ground he started raining heavy punches on him.
"Go!" the figure yelled at Amanda.
Amanda ran towards her car, opening it she turned on the ignition and backed the car out onto the street and raced for home.
She didn't stop until she was at home, until she was in the comfort of her bed. That was when the sobs hit her hard. She was so distraught she didn't know her when she fell asleep.
Did Danielle set her up? Who was James Then?
Amanda was too tires to think. She just closed her eyes and fell
into a deep sleep.
