After packing everything, Qin Yiling picked up her suitcase and hurried after the group until she caught up with them.
Since their destination was An Le Town, naturally, she should follow and travel with them. After all, she had absolutely no sense of direction at the moment.
The group didn't say anything when they saw her walking casually behind them, as this road only went in this one direction in the first place, so they couldn't stop her.
However, when they saw Qin Yiling's kerchief wrapped around her dirty face, they were slightly surprised, before that quickly turned into relief.
After all, this was a chaotic world where people were materialistic and rapacious. If a woman went out dressed well and glamorously, wouldn't that be walking right into danger and asking for trouble?
Throughout their journey, their surroundings did not change much. Qin Yiling only had one thought: barren.
Only now did she realize the full extent of how desolate this whole area of land was.
Granted that it was the winter season, but even then, how could it be that there were only withered and decaying fields along the way? In fact, some plants could actually survive in winter, but she barely spotted any along the way.
"Everyone, let's take a break."
Zhang Xing, the man who was walking right at the forefront whom everyone called "Brother Zhang", hollered out at the group behind him.
This place had a few large rocks, which was just nice for them to sit on and rest. Not far away, there was also a stream of water that was probably flowing down from the mountain, but the water flow was very shallow as it was only a small ditch.
Hearing that, everyone automatically heaved sighs of relief and started finding a spot to sit and rest. In order to make more progress in their journey, they had not stopped much. Alas, although their plan was ideal, their bodies suffered.
There were sixteen people in their group, half of them being elderly and children. Coupled with the fact that their stomachs had not been full for a long time, they didn't have much strength at all. They had relied on a single breath of determination to have made it all this way.
Qin Yiling also took a rest at the side. They had been walking for two to three hours, and even she, someone who trained frequently, couldn't take it anymore, much less these travelers.
She picked up her water bottle and downed a few big gulps, but she did not dare to finish it in one sitting. After all, there was still an entire afternoon to go.
She couldn't help but sigh again. If only she had her mother's storage space, she would have been able to eat as she pleased, as freely as could be. Sigh, why hadn't she inherited her mother's storage space? She finally realized how great it was to have a mobile depository.
On the other hand, her own superpowers were pretty great too, and she should be content, for she was at least guaranteed her livelihood with it. It was much better than her little sister's frivolous superpower.
Qin Yiling opened a piece of chocolate and started munching on it as she grumbled and let her thoughts wander. She had only eaten half a biscuit in a hurry that morning, and that little bit of food in her stomach had long been used up completely.
"Gulp!"
Qin Yiling had just put a piece of chocolate into her mouth and before she could even chew on it, she had heard the sound of someone swallowing their saliva.
She looked sideways and saw a little boy of about five or six years old, huddled in the arms of an old woman. He was looking at her with ardent eyes and couldn't help but smack his lips.
He looked as if he could taste the chocolate himself just by watching her eat.
Seeing that she had turned to look at him, he immediately tucked his neck back in while his little eyes secretly peeked and surveyed her.
