"Uggh!!" Mark grunts and flips Lu backwards into the wall, but Lu doesn't hold back and quickly flies back to Mark, fisting his face. Mark slides through the paths, causing debris to fly in the sky. Mark thought the same thing as Phoenix, are they strong enough?
"Am I gonna have to go all out on you" Mark said, furiously while looking at Lu's name tag on his armor "Lu Kradnoom" his eyes squint. Lu walks through the ruined street with the dark pink auras that surround his entire body "Go ahead" he laughs "Like that will do anything"
Mark closes his eyes and is about to release the azure fire, but Lu suddenly teleports and connects his fist to Mark's face. Mark flies through the paths again and stops himself by stabbing the sword down. He slides through and slowed down.
"I could kill you right now.... But I wanna have fun before breaking you" Lu smiled. "Ew, that sounds disgusting" Mark said as he gets in a stance and charges his energy, but then again, Lu destroys him. "Uuggghh!!" Mark yelled in anger "Forget it!!" He explodes as the azure flames surround his body.
"Hahahahah!!" Lu shouted "This is getting real fun!!!". Mark floats in the sky with Lu. Rodrigo gets distracted and watches Mark "Oh God, its getting serious! Dino!!"
Dino runs and stabs the kalrhino in the head "It's been serious, you dumbass!!". George runs into Rodrigo as they both hit the wall "What the hell are you doing!? You're on the wrong side!"
"It's not me!" George said in pain "It's him!" He pointed at Eru.
"Out of all times, out of all the wars we've all been in, why now all of the sudden there's an enemy much stronger than us!" Phoenix shouted.
"I think they need our help now" Chloe says to Edison and Lilly. They help get Edison back to to the surrounding bushes as they hide out. "Lilly, you stay here and protect Edison, okay?"
"Okay" Lilly replied. Chloe jumps through the tall bushes and heads back to the base. Lilly and Edison are alone; they hardly know each other so it's a bit awkward. There was complete silence; so silence that if you drop a pin, it can be heard. Though, you can hear the battle going on at the base and a few birds chirping.
The silence continues to go on for a few minutes as Lilly acts like something else is on her mind; acting like she's busy doing something, but in reality she's just as nervous as Edison right now.
"So... I know we have never talked to each other at all" Edison was tired of the quietness. Lilly turned around "Mhm" she responded, throwing Edison off. She turns back around to look out for enemies. Edison gets a bit disappointed because all she said was "Mhm", which no one knows how to respond to.
Edison comes up with another conversation topic "Lilly" she said. "Yeah?" Lilly answered. Edison gets up from the ground and stood with a stick that she gave him for balancing "This isn't gonna end.. right?"
Lilly turned around one last time "What do you mean?" She got confused. What is he talking about? She thinks about the battle in the base that is currently ongoing right now.
"The fights" he answered "After we finish defeating the Doomgaders... we can't go home yet... because of the Dominant League"
She realizes that he's right about the Dominant League. The group currently has control over the entire Izuzunu empire as of now. "Yeah.... so.... maybe we won't be able to have time to rest after this" she looked up at the sky, but all she sees is the leaves blocking.
RISE OF IZUZUNU
VOLUME 9, CHAPTER 110, DEFEAT OF PHOENIX
GATES
At the gate, George, Rodrigo, and Dino teams up to fight Eru "Hah!" Rodrigo attacks, missing completely. Eru struck him with his foot as he flies into the wall. Eru points his sword at George as they both attack, having a sword fight "Gahahahaha!!" Eru laughed "Ew, you remind me of Toast" George said as he throws his legs to Eru's side, but Eru catches his leg and swings George into a building.
Dino knows that he stands no chance against Eru, but he charges toward Eru anyways "Eru!!" he screamed out, but too slow to dodge Eru's sword. The sword slices Dino's left hand "Aaah!!" he screamed in pain as he falls toward the floor "Aaah!!" screamed again. "Dino!!" Rodrigo shouted out, sprinting to Eru again, but George had enough of it and flew fast, passing Rodrigo with his azure plasma. George slams his sword into Eru's chest "Aaaah!!" George screamed at the same time.
"Fu.. fuck!!!" Eru shouted as the sword punctures through the armor and into Eru's chest. George forcefully pushes the sword down to Eru's stomach, creating a larger wound as Eru attempts to attack George, but he falls to the ground.
In the sky, Mark flies toward Lu as he slashes Lu's back "Ah, shit!" Lu shouted while backing away. "Mark!" George shouted "Let me help you!" George blasts himself up to the sky with them.
"Thanks, but I got this" Mark said, gripping onto his sword tightly. Mark dashes behind Lu, but Lu dodges Mark's sword for a second and lands a punch onto Mark's face, but Mark didn't even move. He grabs Lu's legs and flips him upside down. He then stabs into Lu's back "Aaah!"
"Who's stronger now?" Mark said in a serious tone while throwing Lu onto the ground. He hits the floor as debris of dusts and dirt flies in the sky. Mark blasts one more blue fire ball toward Lu as it hits him "Aaah!" Lu screamed out.
"Woah.." George said. Mark flies toward George "Told you I got it" he said.
OTHER SIDE OF THE BASE
Phoenix breathes heavily while crouched on all fours. He wonders if he's gonna die today. He's at the corner of the base's walls while Cole is standing far in front of him. The walls are half destroyed due to Phoenix's body smashing into them. Cole's white flames still surround him, with Cole still smiling.
Phoenix runs out of ideas to fight Cole; he's also running out of energy as his powers are slowly deteriorating from his armor being almost entirely destroyed. Everything is looking bad right now. Will he end up like Jun? He thought about that for a moment and sits down on the floor, thinking if he should accept his defeat.
"I'm all out of energy" Phoenix said out loud. "Oh, are you? Hahahah!" Cole laughed and continued laughing like an evil villain "You thought you could defeat me; you thought you could defeat us! No!! You should've just told me where Izuzunu was, then you probably would've been able to live"
"I'm doing everything in my power to protect Izuzunu, so I'm fine with dying" Phoenix said. "Hahahahahaah!!! So you think of dying!! Hahah!! You've given up already!! Look how weak you are, you little weakling!! You Izuzunians are as weak as you look!!" Cole laughed.
Phoenix looked down "Damn.. everything..." he said in his head. The weather suddenly changes as it starts sprinkling a bit. Lightning strikes in the sky as the wind starts picking up; the clouds still blocking the view of the sun.
THE GATE
"Hey, it's raining" George says. Rodrigo lays 07 and Dino down "Rest guys, it's gonna be okay, you guys will be okay" he assured. Dino's left hand is completely gone, so they wrap bandages around the wound, it was very painful.
At the gates it looked empty, no more kalrhinos, no more kalkruts, no more kalruts, where did they all go? Everyone thought for a moment until Chloe enters the gates "Guy! What's happening!?" She shouted. She then looks around, the battle is over; she thought. She runs to Rodrigo treating Dino "Oh.. no"
Chloe runs around and sees Mark and George looking at all the bodies of the kalkruts. "Where's Edison and Lilly?" George asked. "At the forest, Lilly's watching over Edison right now" Chloe answers and looked around with Mark. "Wait, where's Xuanyu and Phoenix?" Chloe realizes as the rest realizes too "Oh... oh no" Mark said as he runs down the hill to Rodrigo and the rest "Guys, we lost Xuanyu and Phoenix"
Chloe and George followed from behind "We have to look for them" she says. "Alright everyone, Rodrigo and I will look for Xuanyu, Chloe, you'll find Phoenix with George"
"Okay!" Chloe says as Chloe and George goes their own way, searching around the streets and buildings. Mark looks at Rodrigo "Let's go". Rodrigo picks up Dino "Let's find them a safe spot to hide first"
Mark picks 07 up "Okay". They run out of the gates and hid them behind a tree in the forest "Rest here, we'll be right back, I promise" Mark said while crouching in front of both wounded Izuzunian. Mark stood up and began running with Rodrigo.
CORNER OF THE WALLS
"Ugh..." Phoenix groaned as he stands up. His sword is missing and the fire that surrounded him was little and unnoticeable. Cole stood up firmly "Hm? The little puppy is getting up?"
"I..." Phoenix tried to speak as he coughs out some blood "I'll never... give up" he stood up with his back hunched over, too weak to move. "I'll never give up!!" He screamed out "No matter what, no matter what kills me, my goal is and always is to protect.. Izuzunu!!!" Phoenix screamed as he sprints to Cole.
Cole stood there smiling "You've got guts" he said "you're a brave Izuzunian.. I'll take back what I said.. You're the strongest Izuzunian I've fought"
"Haaaaaah!!" Phoenix ran, but he's very slow. Cole flies quickly with his white flames toward Phoenix "Hahahahah!!" Right when he's about to stab into Phoenix's chest, Chloe pushes Phoenix out the way.
Cole stabs through Chloe instead. It took Phoenix a moment to realize as he looked up at Chloe "Chl... Chloe.... why"
