Chapter 11 - End

After a few hours, his door finally couldn't hold on anymore. It was completely broken by the zombies outside and fell off the door frame. The furniture blocking his door was also pushed back by the zombies.

"Damn it, I have to think of a way to escape. Otherwise, I will definitely be trapped by the zombies."

Zhou Chen knew that he could not just sit there and wait for death. He immediately grabbed his spear and hatchet and jumped onto the first piece of furniture that blocked the door.

When the door was pushed out of the frame by the zombies, he stabbed at the head of a large zombie with his spear.

This large zombie clearly had a strengthened physique. It was the one who had broken the door.

Thanks to Zhou Chen's high strength, his spear pierced through the head of the large zombie and killed it on the spot.

[Passive Plunderer triggered: You have plundered the zombie's passive skill, 'Physique Enhancement I'. Detected that this passive skill is not better than the passive skill you already have. It cannot be absorbed and will be abandoned automatically.]

Zhou Chen immediately knew that the passive skills of the same name could not be stacked. They could only be replaced by stronger ones.

However, he had no time to think about this, because as the large zombie fell to the ground, the other zombies around it began to step on its body and extend their rotten claws to Zhou Chen, who was standing on the furniture.

Seeing this, Zhou Chen pushed the spear to its limits and quickly sent the zombies closest to him to the afterlife. Then, he suddenly bent down and jumped off the furniture. He stepped on the heads and shoulders of the zombies in the corridor and ran to the empty corridor behind them, then broke into a run.

The reason why his operation was successful was not only because his physique and agility were higher, but also because of the influence of Combat Arts, allowing him to have extraordinary footwork and body coordination.

After escaping from the zombies that surrounded his room and escaping from the corridor, Zhou Chen was still not out of danger. Instead, he had to face the larger group of zombies wandering outside. It was the third day, and there were many more zombies in the city. It was difficult to find a place to hide.

While running, he attacked the zombies in front of him with his spear and fled toward the areas with relatively sparse zombies.

After killing more than thirty zombies in a row, he got rid of the attention of many zombies and hid behind the trash cans in an alley.

He had quickly killed all the zombies in the area, so it was temporarily safe here. However, it had exhausted him.

Fighting while running was very exhausting. In addition, he had not eaten much these past two days, so his condition had become very poor.

After getting some respite, he placed the weapons down and lay on the ground.

"Do I have to spend the entire night like this? I feel like I can't hold on anymore…"

He was panting. He wanted to lie on the ground and rest for a few hours, but that was impossible.

A few minutes later, he found that many zombies were starting to appear near the alley. He had no choice but to gather his courage, pick up his weapons, and continue running, searching for a safer place to hide.

"I have to find a safe room. I'll be fine as long as I can last the night."

Although he had just been chased out of his room by the zombies, Zhou Chen had to admit that hiding in a building was more comfortable. It was really too tiring to wander outside like this.

After running for a while, he saw a figure running toward him from a crossroad. Behind that figure was a group of zombies.

He knew this person. He was the oldest among the group of Survivors, the short-clothed, middle-aged man who wanted everyone to be united.

He looked rather disheveled. His clothes were in tatters and were stained with blood and unknown stains. It was unknown what he had experienced.

His physical fitness had clearly decreased. He was chased by the group of zombies behind him, and was unable to shake them off at all.

Suddenly, three zombies in front of him were attracted by the commotion and charged at him. He dodged two of them with all his might, but his arm was accidentally grabbed by the third one. He could not break free immediately, and soon, he was drowned by the zombies chasing after him.

The screams came quickly and then died just as quickly, leaving only the chewing and tearing sounds of the zombies.

"Four of the Survivors died just from what I know. Is this difficulty really only at the beginning level of bronze…"

Faced with the tragic scene in the distance, Zhou Chen had serious doubts about this instance dungeon. Although the difficulty of this instance dungeon was the weakest low bronze level, it had already caused huge casualties to the Survivors. He did not dare to imagine what the higher difficulties would be like.

He sighed slightly in his heart and then moved to another location, because he realized that some zombies had already begun to notice him.

Time continued to pass. Zhou Chen fled cautiously while searching for a suitable hiding place.

In the end, he slaughtered all the zombies in a remote house at the edge of the city and stayed there.

The reason why he chose this place was because there were fewer zombies in this area. On the other hand, he realized that the door of this house was a thick security door that was not easy to break open.

After clearing the zombies, Zhou Chen pushed all kinds of furniture and heavy objects to block the door and windows, preparing to stay there till the end.

He did not have much stamina left. If the zombies broke in again, he would be doomed. He could only try his best to ensure that the door and windows were tightly blocked so that he could survive the night.

The last night soon arrived. The zombies outside had also discovered Zhou Chen's location. They gathered and kept hitting his door and windows, testing his mental endurance.

Zhou Chen was prepared. If the zombies could break in like this, he would have to risk his life against them.

He spent another long time in the dark room. Just as he felt that his mind was about to collapse and the door seemed to be about to be smashed open, he finally realized that there was light; he had returned to the rented room. Under his feet was a dagger, a chopper, and a crowbar. In front of him was a clock.

He looked at the digital clock and saw that the time and the date were no different from when he had left. It seemed like the three days he had spent in that zombie-infested city were fake.

[You have completed the mission. Reward: 1 Physique Scroll (Low Bronze), 1 Iron Rod (Low Bronze), 1 Cola (Low Bronze)]

The mission completion announcement soon followed.

"Physique Scroll? Not bad. Iron rod, that's okay too. But, what the hell is up with this cola?"

The exhausted Zhou Chen was speechless. He had never thought that after being tortured for three days, the reward would be an ordinary bottle of coke.
