Chapter 9 - Spear Arts I

Almost instantly, a large amount of combat experience entered Zhou Chen's mind. The muscles in his body also changed and became stronger, as if he had trained for a long period.

"To think that Combat Arts is also a passive skill. I really made a killing this time."

While feeling happy, Zhou Chen did not forget his teammate who was in a difficult situation. He immediately ran toward the spear-wielding zombie and struck its head.

The spear-wielding zombie was currently suppressing the young man. Under its continuous attacks, the latter was in a passive situation and was reaching the point where he would be knocked down after a few hits. When Zhou Chen came to support, the spear-wielding zombie immediately turned its spear and stabbed at Zhou Chen, allowing the young man to escape.

Zhou Chen did not panic at all when faced with the spear-wielding zombie's counterattack. He used the baseball bat to knock away the spear of the zombie while quickly moving and attacking it, punching the zombie's head.

When the zombie saw that Zhou Chen was going to engage in close combat, it immediately raised its spear and retreated.

However, because Zhou Chen had gained a certain level of proficiency in combat arts, his movements were very agile. How could he let it escape? He took a few steps forward and kicked the zombie's knee. Then, he grabbed its spear with one hand and smashed its head with a baseball bat with the other, quickly sending it to hell.

[Passive Plunderer triggered: Do you want to absorb the passive skill "Spear Arts I"?]

"Absorb!"

Zhou Chen did not hesitate this time as well and directly chose to absorb. In an instant, like the fusion of the Combat Arts earlier, a large amount of combat experience regarding the spear entered his mind, making him feel a headache.

At this moment, the young man, who had been suppressed by the spear-wielding zombie, walked over. He looked at Zhou Chen in surprise, his voice filled with surprise.

"I didn't expect you to be a hidden expert. You contributed more in this battle, so you can choose the weapons first."

"I want the spear and hatchet."

Zhou Chen did not refuse. He quickly walked to the weapons rack and took out a spear and a hatchet. The spear was the same as the one used by the spear-wielding zombie, but it was in a better state.

"Then I'll choose this blade and this hammer."

The young man pulled out a long blade and hammer from the weapons rack. As for the iron rod in his hand, he threw it to the ground.

"It's all thanks to you that the plan succeeded this time. Let's add each other as friends. I'll look for you to cooperate again if there's a chance."

After the young man turned into a hammer-wielding young man, he quickly added Zhou Chen as a friend and left.

"This person really likes being a lone wolf."

Zhou Chen had originally thought that this person would continue to team up with him, but who knew that the other party would directly bid farewell after obtaining what he wanted, making him a little surprised.

"There are still a few weapons here. Let's see which lucky person will discover them."

He found a sturdy belt and tied the hatchet to his waist, before leaving the dojo with the spear. As for the other weapons on the weapon rack, he could not be bothered with them because he found that he could not place them in the inventory space, and it would only be a burden to carry them.

After walking out of the dojo, he encountered six zombies not long after. These six zombies were only ordinary. When they saw Zhou Chen, they charged over brainlessly.

Zhou Chen walked forward steadily when he saw this. The spear in his hand quickly pierced through their heads like a poisonous serpent's tongue, killing them all instantly.

"With this spear and the matching techniques, my efficiency in killing zombies has increased greatly."

Looking at the zombie bodies lying on the ground, Zhou Chen felt that his improvement was huge. Just some time ago, if he encountered so many zombies, he definitely would not directly fight them head-on. Even if he fought, he would take a roundabout way which would take a lot of time, not nearly as fast as now.

"With my current strength, if there is no accident, there's a high chance I can pass these three days. I'll continue looking for food and grind passive skills before looking for a place to spend the night."

Zhou Chen was quite satisfied with his current condition and was filled with confidence in passing this dungeon.

The rest of the time was boring. He searched for food and special monsters in various locations in the city. If he was discovered by the zombies, he would quickly destroy them with his spear.

A few hours later, he found a packaged bread in good condition in an apartment and ate it to replenish his energy. At the same time, he finished a bottle of mineral water.

He did not gain any passive skills because he did not find any special monsters.

Night fell. Zhou Chen found a relatively clean room with an intact window and door and stayed there.

Most of the places in this city had no electricity. His vision was poor at night, so he did not plan to go out at night and just focused on sleeping.

After using the furniture in the room to block the door and window, Zhou Chen began to patiently wait for sleep to arrive.

Since he was bored, he opened his interface and checked the description of the fighting and spear arts.

Time passed, but he was not able to fall asleep immediately. He kept on hearing obvious footsteps outside. It seemed to be much more lively than in the day.

He walked to the window and looked through a small gap. With the help of moonlight, he was able to see more zombies wandering outside than in the day.

"As expected, the zombies will be more active at night."

After casually observing for a while, Zhou Chen returned to the bed and fell asleep. He had done a lot of things in the day, so he had to rest well.

The night passed peacefully.

When Zhou Chen moved the furniture that blocked his door and looked out through the peephole, he saw more than ten zombies wandering in the corridor outside.

"I am so unlucky early in the morning…"

Zhou Chen was not afraid, though. He only felt irritated. He adjusted the furniture beside the door so that the door could only be opened a little and opened it while holding the hatchet.

The zombies outside saw the door open and rushed over one after another, but the door was blocked by several pieces of furniture and could not be opened completely. Those who rushed to the front quickly received the reward of Zhou Chen's hatchet and fell weakly to the ground, trampled by the zombies behind.

After spending some time killing these zombies, Zhou Chen brought his spear out of the room.

After killing some zombies in the corridor and stairs, he came to the street outside.

"There are more zombies outside…"

After hiding in the corner and looking around, he realized that there were more zombies walking around after the night passed.

"Moreover, the types have increased."

His gaze was quickly attracted by a large zombie in the distance.

"I'll hunt you first…"

He wiped the spearhead of his spear with a napkin and wiped the corpse poison on it with his hand before moving toward the large zombie in the distance.
