"Ary! Mum and Dad are here!" Chris's voice boomed in the house as he walked in from the veranda.
Arya who was in the living room, patting and fanning her hot cheeks simultaneously due to her grandmother's teasings and Laura who was busy in the kitchen both whipped their heads up at the sound of his voice.
'What?! They're here already?!' they both thought incredulously.
Arya was excited and a bit nervous at the same time. It's been a while that she had set her eyes on the couple she considered her second parent, the nostalgia bringing tears to her eyes as she stood still in place.
Chris walked to stop in front of Arya and noticed her downtrodden expression. Seeing the tears threatening to fall from her clear eyes, he immediately held on to her soft dainty palm.
"Are you okay?" he asked carefully, like he was afraid his one word will cause the tears to drop.
Glancing sideways at Chris, Arya sniffed and shook her head.
