She couldn't believe it, her guest was none other than Sion, the fox.
This fox was truly shameless!
Even after everything, he had the guts to come here??!, she thought as she watched Sion use his gloved hand to release her folded arms and placed a kiss on the back of her right hand.
And although she felt he was shameless, still willingly let Sion kiss her hand. She wasn't going to pass up a lovely gesture from such an handsome man.
She didn't see anything wrong in accepting a kiss from the man that was thoroughly disgraced in her home weeks ago but that didn't mean the butler agreed with her thoughts as his mouth hung open in disbelief.
Both at the man's guts and his mistress's shamelessness.
'Honestly, they suddenly look so good together as a couple' Matthew thought.
But when he received a glare from his mistress, he quickly clamped his mouth shut and excused himself, "Then....Excuse me miss." he said before whisking himself away.
Releasing the maiden's hand, Sion looked into her purplish eyes endearingly as he said, "You know Kiara it won't kill you to talk to me nicely for once."
The maiden Kiara scoffed in response, "Sir Sion, our relationship was quite amiable till you thought you could have me, Kiara Sawne as your wife." she said pointing her beautifully painted nails at her face.
She really didn't know what he was thinking. Everyone in this kingdom knew that since birth, she was betrothed to Amaris Lun, THE Amaris Lun but this beast here still came to her home and proposed to her right in front of her parents!
Naturally, her parents didn't accept his proposal and also ousted him out of their house, however, not before reminding him about his origins. If he was a wolf descendant, they could have politely declined but he was a fox, a fox!
No matter how much wealth he acquired or how revered he was, it didn't change the fact that he wasn't a wolf. So one could imagine her parents shock who felt that every other being asides a wolf in the Luna Kingdom was nothing but air.
Still remembering the horrid look on her father's face, Kiara observed Sion carefully.
'She didn't think of it before but what if he had ulterior motives?'
Sion on the other hand didn't take offence to what Kiara said. It was only a matter of time before she became his anyway.
"I think what I'm about to discuss with you will take our strained relationship back to how it was before." he uttered as his golden eyes found trailed to Kiara's chest that was rising and falling faster than usual.
'Looks like she was in a rush, thank goodness I came here on time'
"I don't have time to discuss with you. As you can see I was actually on my way out so if you'll excuse me." Kiara uttered as she grabbed a piece of her royal blue gown and made to leave.
She just heard from one of her maids who found out from her maidfriend at the Lun's that Amaris had disappeared for a whole night and there were no traces of him. She screamed in fright at the thought of what might have happened and decided to head to the Lun's mansion straightaway so she didn't have any time to do small talk.
"Its about Amaris Lun." Sion said with a slight smile, successfully stopping Kiara who whipped her head to face him.
"What do you mean?" she asked with a quirk of her crescent moon eyebrows.
"I heard about his disappearance."
"How did you know about that?"
"I have my ways." The fox replied with a goofy smile. If one of his shadow guards saw this smile, they would probably journey to meet the god of Thunder & Lightning and personally ask for a lightning strike. Their merciless master who always showed a merciless savage smile could actually smile like a fool in love!
"And I can also help you get to his location. The only condition will be for you not to tell anyone." he continued.
Now this got Kiara's attention.
"How do you know his location and why did you ask me not to tell? Do you have a hand in Amaris's disappearance Sir Sion?" Kiara asked as the aura around her changed to that of a predator about to slice the head off their prey.
Ignoring the aura that Kiara released, Sion placed his palms behind his back, "That, I can't tell but I can tell you that it probably has to do with the Portal master."
'Portal master? So Amaris was transported to another world?' Kiara thought but her attention was brought to by Sion.
"As for my condition, what do you think the Lun's would do if you were the one who found and rescued their only son who suddenly vanished without a trace? I'm pretty sure the advantages you'll receive will be immeasurable." he said as he spread his gloved hands.
"Lastly, Miss Kiara if I was truly involved in Sir Amaris's disappearance as you said, why would I inform anyone about his location? I'm sorry but I don't think I'd want to give my love rival another chance." Sion voiced with a sigh escaping his pretty lips.
When Kiara heard Sion refer to himself as a love rival, the powerful aura around her vanquished and was replaced by a blush which crept upon her cheeks.
"Then why...?"she asked in confusion.
She couldn't keep up with this fox's thoughts, if he truly felt that Amaris was his love rival, why did he offer to help her?
After Kiara asked her question, Sion put a thoughtful finger on his chin and said, "Why? Hmm, I guess it's just for old times sake. We were pretty close before so I don't think I'd want to see a friend of mine sad."
Scrunching her eyebrows, Kiara snarked, "Still Sir Sion, what's in it for you? I don't believe the lies that just came out of your mouth."
Coughing to hide his awkwardness, Sion couldn't help but smirk and then burst into laughter. The person he liked was really an interesting person, she didn't buy his sweet words.
"Okay. Truthfully, I just want to help and be in your company Kiara." Sion confessed half of his thoughts with a sad smile on his lips.
Kiara's purple eyes enlarged as she watched Sion laugh then smile. He was truly a really handsome beast but if he wasn't a fox and his rival wasn't Amaris, she would probably no...she'd definitely be with him. Hell, she'd even fight to be in his harem!
'Sigh, it was just too bad.' Kiara thought.
"Alright, let's go in and discuss." she said as she led Sion who hid a sly smile into her quarters.
Ushering her maids out of her bedroom, she slammed the door shut falling head over heels into Sion's trap.
******
In a grandiose hall, a man who looked to be in his forties sat at the head of a table with his hands clenched into fists.
He seemed to be lost in menacing thoughts that threatened to break out as a low growl escaped his lips.
Suddenly, footsteps were heard in the quiet hall which announced the arrival of a brown furred wolf trekking towards the man on the table.
Stopping to stand in front of the man, the wolf bowed his head slightly, raising it at the grunt of approval from him.
"Master, we've checked all roads leading to other Kingdoms but there was no trace of Lord Amaris in the logbooks." the wolf reported, the scar on his right eye devilishly apparent under the hall's excellent lighting.
"So you're trying to tell me that a grown wolf just vanished into thin air?!" The master growled, his eyes shining dangerously.
"I'm sorry master." the wolf bowed, deeply this time.
"Don't tell me sorry! Sorry won't bring my only son back! What I want you to do is to find my son. No matter what or who it takes, go find him now!" the master yelled back as he slammed his palm on the table and stood up causing the chair to fall with a crack on the hall floor.
The wolf didn't need to be told twice, he ran with all his might out of the hall. He didn't want another scar on his face!
As the wolf sprinted out of the hall, another wolf walked past him and glanced at his receding figure wondering what the old man had caused this time.
Trudging to his side, the wolf morphed to become a beautiful woman with golden blonde hair long enough to reach her waist, marine blue almond eyes, a pointed nose and heart-shaped lips.
Reaching her hands to the man standing at the head of the table. Her pretty fingers worked their way into his short brown locks and massaged each acupoint on his scalp.
"You really should stop raising your temper, darling. It's not good for your health." she said.
Turning his head to face his wife, the man held her hands stopping her pleasurable massages. Releasing a sigh, he asked,
"Why do I feel like I'm the only one panicking here?"
Looking at her husband seriously, she opened her mouth, "Vicor, you know your son too well. Wherever he is, he's perfectly fine. I still feel the bond i share with him. It's beating just fine dear. Don't worry." she said before giving her husband a hug.
"But still Sara, you aren't worried even a little bit?" Vicor asked earning a sigh from his wife.
Everyone thought that she wasn't worried about her son's disappearance but she was. Which mother wouldn't worry about her child?
She worries about them when they're right by her side let alone when they're away.
But she tried to shake it off because first of all she trusted her son's ability to protect himself and secondly, the prophecy.
Sporting a fitted gown that hugged her curvaceous waist she looked nothing like a woman that had gone through over thirty years but a maiden who was looking for a suitor.
Grabbing his wife's waist, Vicor rubbed his palm against it suggestively earning a slap on the chest from her.
"And what do you think you're doing? Sara asked with a raise of her head.
"What do you think?" Vicor asked with a raise of his brows and a cunning smile.
"You want to do this when your son is missing?" his wife asked back.
"But you told me I shouldn't worry and the only way I can do that is if I'm in the arms of a lovely maiden as yourself." he replied as he hugged his wife tightly.
'This man was plain shameless!' she thought.
"Stop playing around and send a message to Saizo." Sara said as she forced herself out of her husband's embrace.
"Saizo? The fortune teller?" Vicor inquired clearly more relaxed than he was minutes ago.
"Yes tell him to come immediately. I want to talk to him." Sara said as she walked towards the door.
"Sure but that will be after we're done. Okay sweetheart?" Vicor said, already next to his wife.
Snaking his arm around her waist, he brought her close to him as they walked out of the hall.
Holding her head in dismay, Sara's conviction about her son's safety doubled in intensity.
Cause apart from his adaptive and protective skills, he was equally as shameless as his father.
'He was probably snuffing a poor maiden's soul out there.'
