Jessica and Sam's demeanor changed immediately they shook hands with Amaris. They watched how he blatantly ignored them after exchanging handshakes, brushed past Arya's shoulder and went back to sit at the veranda.
Arya looked at Amaris's broad back as he exited the living room and couldn't help but wonder what got into him. 'Was he upset about something? Why did he intentionally brush her shoulder? Did he need anything?'
So many thoughts were spiraling through her mind but when she noticed everyone in the room also noticed Amaris's strange behavour, watching him exit the room into veranda, her protective instinct towards the wolf was immediately switched on.
"Haha…aunt Jess, uncle Sam, please don't mind Mari. He doesn't really do well with strangers." Arya laughed sheepishly, moving her body as she tried to use her small shoulders to block their view from where the wolf was headed.
