Both girls regarded one another briefly, this sight alone is enough to scare anyone that was 'curious' enough to even try and open the door.
Fayette didn't chicken out, she pulled Rose in and the door closed by itself.

"We're now inside, there is no going back" Rose said, not ushering Fayette's hand away until they at least knew where they are.
"I know." Fayette sighed, following along with Vera's action deep within their shared body.

The white world progressively gained contrast to give way to the streets of a city, an empty city with an empty sky filled with grey clouds and no sign of light.
The world was grey, black and white, different shades of each.
