Ch. 169 Parasite
Pov.
-Kara-
"It-it hurts like that." Yaomomo whimpers as I brush my teeth in her bathroom
"Just relax" I spit before rinsing my mouth
"Relax," she grumbles "what's up with these pictures you took with Mirko?"
"Politics?" I shrug
"You're half naked." She frowns
"They say we're the most promising heroes of this generation."
"Jeeze, I mean look at you two." She scrolls through her phone
"Kara and Mirko. Mirko, Kara, again. Why are they so obsessed with you?"
"You're kidding right?" I open my arms "Look at Me."
"Yeah-yeah, I know." She crawls over
"My parents are going to be home soon." She lays on her back "You should probably…"

"What?"
She sits up
I leaned over to see what the hell she was reading.
The two pictures I saw were one of me during the festival and another of Cana leaving the clinic with a brochure in her hand
Shit.
I catch her wrists before she'd slap me across the face
"You asshole, how could you do this to her?!"
"Watch yourself." I shove her back
"You! It was you?! You told her to get rid of it!?"

"You should be ashamed of yourself!"
"Yeah right." I scoff
"How could I be so stupid!?"
"You're a woman."
"Grrah!" She lunges at me
I step back and have her switch places with the pillow on her bed
She looks around, confused before throwing her alarm clock at me
I swat it aside with my tail as I finish pulling my shirt on and fitting my pants
"Get out of my house!" She cries
"Tch." So much for that "Nice pussy, bitch." I Remind her she let me fuck, dodging her heel set out to take my eye out
I take my keys and my wallet before stepping out to a swarm of photographers as I push through to my H2
I rev my engine to drown out their questions before taking off
I arrived at the school shortly and pretty much had to shove through a crowd to get by
In the midst of which I found Cana curled up and sobbing
I grab her backpack and I carry her through the crowd like a duffel bag
It took everything I had to keep myself from blowing them all away
"What the hell did you say!?" I growl
"N-nothing, I-I." She fumbles with her phone.
"Himiko, what's going on!?" She shouts into her phone as she follows behind
This is ridiculous.
I'd never thought a fucking parasite could be this much of a headache.
"Kara, Hey!" Midnight waves
"What's going on?"
"I don't know." She follows to Nezus office
I barge in despite Cana and Midnights Protests
"How the hell did this get out?!
"The information regarding any pregnancy in UA is kept under strict secrecy." He says
"Your little performance during the festival riled the media up. It really was only a matter if time" All Might adds
"Oh yeah? Maybe it was you!" I shove him back
He was over seven feet tall so it wasn't like I could get in his face. Still, his stupid mug has bothered me ever since I laid my eyes on him.
"You got something against Me? ." I growl
"Easy… Kara…" he glares at me
"Or what, bitch? I'm sick of the way you look at me. So what, huh?!"
"Calm it down."
"Kara, please." Cana whimpers behind me
"Tell me."
The smile on his face disappears. "The way you fight, like you have a bottomless arsenal of techniques or… quirks."

"Like you believe the world revolves around you."

Yes, I've been hearing about him from the agency.
"Only difference between me and that shameless freak is that my power is my own."
"Yes, how noble of you."
"Hmh." I smirk "What are we going to do with this mess, Nezu?" I look out the window at all the media outside the school
"Your classmates will begin their internships at their agency of choice."
"Oh yeah?"
"Yes, I suggest you take this time to keep out of the spotlight. To figure things out with Cana."
"Figure things out." I scoff
"Yeah, if you don't want to get crucified by the media that's exactly what you'll do." Midnight plants her fists on her hips
"Yeah, whatever."
"C'mon, I have a mission for you that'll do just the thing."
"Tch."
Cana follows behind as Midnight leads us to her office
"Fukuyama, Hiroshima?"
"It's twenty-thousand square miles that Japan purchased recently. The deal was an absolute steal, of course that came at a price."
"Parasites, huh?" I read through the pages
"That's what they're calling them."
"Whatever." I snatch the paperwork
From the looks of it, our clients are large Corporations that bought hundreds of square miles.
They are looking to have the parasites extinguished so they can get a massive return on their investments as soon as the market is open to the public and smaller companies.
"Your work is to be done with blades as they are bulletproof and to keep your identity unknown of course."
"Right. One month, huh?"
"Then Japan can officially send hero's to clean the rest. Also, by then your classmates should be done with their internships and their little spring break."
"Right." I glare at Cana

Pov.
-Cana-
He gave me only a few hours to say goodbye to everyone.
"It's okay, Cana. There's no need to cry." Ochako rubs my back
"Yeah, it was only a matter of time till word got out." Froppy adds
"I-I know b-but…" I watch as Yaomomo walks in
"I-I'm sorry, Momo. I swear that I wanted to tell you." I burst into tears
She bends over and squeezes my cheeks together. "I just knew you'd be a crying mess." She smiles
"Y-you're not mad?"
"With you? Never. Kara on the other hand…"
"He's a jerk!" Ochako frowns.
"Yup." Froppy croaks
"I can't believe how insensitive he could be." Momo crosses her arms "I should've known better, Cana. I'm sorry." She bows
"Wh-what? No way, don't be sorry." I bow further down. "I knew exactly how you felt about him, but I still stabbed you in the back."
"P-Please, I'm so sorry, Momo."
"Jeeze, Cana." She sighs "It's alright, don't apologize."
"What's this mission I've been hearing about?" Froppy asks
"K-Kara and I have to go on a road trip. Midnight said we should 'figure things out'."
"You mean what he should've done from the beginning?"
I shrug
"Don't worry about it too much. Just be sure to call and text us whenever you can." Momo winks
"You bet!"

Pov.
-Kara-
"This, and this, and this." Cana scrolls through her cards. "Alright, ready to go!" She gives me a thumbs up
"Shut up."
I put my rx7 in reverse before pulling out of the driveway, careful not to take any of the photographers out
She giggles and waves out the window before rolling it up and laying her seat back
It was about a 3 hour drive to Hiroshima.
The first thing I did was buy a penthouse with the money I got working with Midnight
"Haha. Look, we can actually breathe!" Cana hurries out onto the balcony
"Kehehe. So, what are we going to do?" She jumps
"I'm going out."
"Oh… okay, take…" I shut the door
I walk down the street towards the creature I sensed on the way here
Parasite, huh?
It looked very human.
I follow it for some time before letting my bloodlust spew
It quickly tensed up before rushing through the crowd
I follow it down the street and into a construction site
"You, what are you? And how do you know what I am?"
"You reek, absolutely disgusting." Chaos snaps into a katana
I raise my blade
"Cleave."
His head splits in two and forms into two tentacles with hardened tips at the very end.
It was quite unsightly
Cleav splits one of his tentacles off before he jumps out of the way
He lunges at me, growing another tentacles as he did
I slap and deflect his every attack
I step in and slice one arm off before ducking and dragging my blade across his stomach
I shove the blade into his side before stepping back, away from his slashing
Chaos snaps back onto my finger before I swoop past his tentacles and tear his heart out of his chest
He stumbles around before his head withers down and he drops dead
"What are you?" I split him open
Tastes…
Human
From the neck down
The head has no skull it's just this muscle like flesh with hardening properties
Seems to be an alien of sorts, foreign to this continent
"Right, time to put in some work." I sigh
I release an alluring scent and hunt down quite a bit of them for the day
I got back home by the time dinner was ready

-Cana-
1 week later
"Do you like it, do you?!" I jump
"Armf-mmf." He digs into the fried porky skin
"Yum." I giggle, but he ignores me, as per usual
"I-I went out on a walk today. Stayed in public just as you said." I try conversating
It's been an entire week of him just coming for dinner and disappearing by the time I wake up
I've been really… lonely.
"I saw some awesome places. You think you can take a day off so we can-."
"No. I have things to do, Cana." He stands up
"B-but…"
"Look, what happened between us was a mistake. Stop thinking anything different."
He heads to the bathroom
"Was it?"

"Hi! You must be his sister, Cana!" Some girl in uniform opens the door "sorry, I hope you don't mind. These bags are heavy, Kara."
She carries her stuff to the table
"Y-Yeah, I'm Cana." I shake her hand
"You're so pretty, just like Kara." She giggles "he told me what happened to you." She points at my belly "sucks you cant come to school anymore."
School? What is she talking about?
"C'mon, Ahiko." Kara waves her over to his room

When did he even find the time to sign up for school here?

Kotoamatsukami.
An illusory genjutsu technique that I used to convince Ahiko that I'm her step mothers nephew.
I also convinced everyone I come across that I transferred over during the first semester of their school year in order to keep myself from leaving any kind of paper trail
Course I decided to have a little fun while I'm at a it
"Ah! Ah!" I made her scream and squeal until Cana had to answer to the neighbors complaints
She Stayed the night over before we had school the following day

There were three. One was taken out by another residing in this school
One teacher, a student and… another student. Right? I glare at the boy walking with his woman
I let my bloodlust spew very slowly as I approach him, right behind Ahiko
"Shinichi! This is my cousin, Kara." Ahiko introduces us, "step cousin." She winks
"What is that supposed to mean, Ahiko?"
"Shinichi." I nod
This one is human. I shake his hand
For the most part.
"We actually had a few classes last semester." He says, very clearly out of tune
"Who's that kid over there?" I ask Shinichi
"Hideo Shimada, you should stay away from him, he's an odd one."
"I'd say, he smells like shit."
"You can smell him?"
"Yeah! Kara is like a hunter. He likes to hunt and stuff!" Ahiko jumps
"Yeah, I think I had him for history our first semester. Wh-what do you hunt?" Shinichi asks
"Just whatever." I shrug "how about we have a talk after school, Shinichi?"
"S-sure thing."
I take Ahikos hand and I lead her over to the track field where we ditched every class after lunch
Later that day Shinichi and I met after school in a house under construction
Before we could get to talking his right hand snaps into one of those parasites
"What? Is he one of them?!" Shinichi jumps back
"N-no, I'm not sure what he is."
"What the hell are you talking about?!"
"Relax, kid." I sigh
"I don't get it. I've known you for a while now, how couldn't I tell?
"What are you talking about Shinichi? We've only just met this man"
"Alright." I clap, "that's enough."

"What are you?" The Parasite asks "why can't I sense your presence?"
"A God." I smile, "look I'm here to cleanse this continent of these Parasites. I'd appreciate it if you keep out of the way."
"What? Why?"
"You made quite some noise during your little… scuffle, here at this school."
"Oh yeah? What's it to you?"
"Look, I'd rather not waste my breath, the only reason you aren't dead now is because I like for you to take the fall as far as these parasites go."
"What fall?"

"Just don't raise any alarms or suspicion. The less they know about these creatures the better it is for me." I turn around
"Wait, how were you able to manipulate Shinichis memories like that?" The Parasite asks
"It's a vast world." I shrug. "I'll be exterminating that Hideo kid tomorrow make a fuss and I'll kill you too"
"Hey, wait. Why not go after him right now?"

"There's somewhere that I need to be." I disappear before he could ask any more questions
I head back home where I watched Cana through the roof

"All the, small things!" She jumps on the bed "Truth care, truth brings!"
"I'll take, one lift. You're ride, best trip. Always, I know."
"You'll be, at-my-show."
"Watching, waiting. Commi-ser-a-ting."
"Say it ain't so! I will not go! Turn the lights off! Carry me home!" She jumps on the counter
"Na-na, Na-na, Na-na, Na-na, Na-na." She shakes her hips, out of breath as she sings the chorus to All The Small Things
She ran around, blasting music and jumping on the bed a while longer
She steps into the shower and then jumps into bed where she snored like a wild boar
I cross my arms and watch her through the night
I was gone before she'd wake and I arrived at school some time during break.
Shinichi came to school despite my warning.
I set my hand on the ground
Valley of Fog.
"Hidden Mist."
An invisible illusory mist expands to fill the volume of the entire school.
Its purpose, to warp the reality for humans into seeing far easier to explain entities in place of these Parasites.
Such as a shooter for one. Or some guy with a machete
This kept the equity in the area at bay, for the most part.
I walk the halls until I reach Hideo.

The students quickly began flooding out of the school.
I jump through a few floors and land on the fifth where I saw Shinichi hurrying around the corner
I pull my arm back
Chaos snaps into a dagger and I toss it straight at Hideo
He knocks it aside before Chaos snaps back onto my finger

He's different from yesterday
Stronger somehow.
He glares at me before launching himself through the hallway, striking down anyone in his way
Chaos snaps into a set of twin blades that I used to knock his aside

I jump back before he could slice me in half

"I knew, I sensed more than one of you in there." I smile after his arms too snapped into those things
"Yes, after Reiko Tamara found out about that Shinichi kid she performed a transplant on me."
"Reiko?" He must be speaking of that Parasite I first sensed at this school not long ago
Except she's long gone.
"Interesting, how many of you fit inside one body, I wonder?"
"So long as one can control them all the sky's the limit." He smiles
I see, so he can't transform his head in order to be able to control his arms effectively.
How amusing.
"Enough!" He lunges at me
I cup my hands behind me before twisting them forth, creating a vortex of fire that circles the hallway
He jumped straight through. I duck under his arm as he flew over me before jerking my body around and narrowly dogging his blade
I step in and smash my fist into his chest
His back bursts into flames, sending him crashing down the hall.
"Hmh." I smile, lowering my guard after deeming him unworthy to be my opponent.
His arms burst into those tentacles and they whip against my arms legs and thighs, tearing chunks as I walk straight through it all, only hardening the skin over my vitals
"Gh." Before he could jump away, I shove my hand into his chest, grabbing a tight hold of his sternum.
I smash my fist into his face, tearing his chest open
He coughs and chokes before collapsing on his face
I sit back and take my time devouring him to recollect on blood to fasten my regeneration.
"Trash." I smeer his brains on the ground before standing up
I clasp my hands together
The corpse bursts into a red hot flame that will burn all flesh and bone until there is nothing left without incinerating the building itself
I join the others outside where we were dismissed for the day
"Thanks for letting me hang out. I live awfully close to the school." Ahiko moans as she rides me on the couch
"Yeah-yeah." I blow my cigar smoke into the air

"Watch it!" I flinch after she tossed her slipper at me as Ahiko gathers her things
"Get out! Get out!" Cana shouts
"Bye Kara." She smiles before flipping Cana off and slamming the door shut
"Nya, you!" Cana sticks her tongue out
"What the hell is wrong with you?! That's a twenty-thousand dollar tv!" I growl
"What the hell is wrong with you?!" She jumps
"You fucking-."
"I've had it up to here with your shit! I'll be damned if I let you disrespect me in my own house!"
"Wh-what?"
"You heard me." she crosses her arms. "It's time you learn some fucking respect!"
"Respect?" I grit my teeth
"This is your fault as much as it is mine!" she cries
"So fucking what?! Seriously, what do you want from me?! It's your problem so deal with it!"
"I want you to be a man and take some responsibility!" she storms over
"Responsibility." I scoff
"Yeah, bet you never heard of that one!" she puts her foot down
"Says you." I her chest
She stumbles onto her ass
"Yeah, says me!" She jumps back to her feet and "I've been trying to figure out what to do while you're running around like stupid dog in heat!" she kicks my shin
"Who are you calling a dog!"
"If you don't like it, quit acting like one!" she lunges at me
I catch her wrists as she tries clawing at my face despite the great difference in our strength, not to mention height
"Damn you, stupid! Stupid! Stupid!" she kicks and sobs "I didn't ask for this either. I-I'm not… I'm not ready." she bursts into tears
"Kgh" I froze
She leans in and clasps onto my shirt
"I c-can't do this alone, Kara. I… I just can't."
"Y-you…"
What the hell is going on?
My body… it's so heavy.
"I already gave you all the money you need." I pull her back "what more do you want?"
"D-don't you get it? It's not about money…"
"Then what is it?"
"I just…" she tears up. "I don't want to be alone…"
