To my knowledge, writing elegantly is an attempt to excise, yet recognize the prudence in colloquialisms such as, "kill your darlings", while dispelling any "sacred cows." The last with no disrespect to Hinduism. Animals exhibit a well of wisdom that humans have yet to achieve or appreciate.
This chunk of the next book likely won't make the cut in this form, so I figured I'd share it. This is one of the fun details about self-publishing, you can release whatever you want, whenever you want.
There is a lot of book left out of my old book as well, though I shudder at the thought of letting *that* out; fearing deep embarrassment, and public humiliation as a result. This chunk is marginally better than that old drivel, but still not suitable. I mulled it over for a few months, but ultimately, it won't work. I truly wanted to keep it, but I just can't. This fits in with the overall direction of the novel, but this scene no longer aligns with changes that I have made in the characters and setting.
It isn't possible to try to rework this piece of writing to try to resolve the conflicts; it is clunky in relation to the rest of the chapters and regardless of the deftness of my editing, and the cleverness of my phrasing, clunky it would remain. As such, here it is.
