Aurora's POV
"There was a body." Ella suddenly exclaimed
"What are you talking about?" I asked her
"We were just told in the fire there was a body."
"Told by whom? I didn't see anyone" Peter demanded. I assume that my family has yet to explain somethings to Peter and Ken as of yet.
"We hear words from haven and words from hell, they tell us truths when other might lie." Ella stated, "You knew that, didn't we already tell you?"Ella looked at Peter.
"I just thought you guys were like physics or something." Peter answered looking slightly embarrassed.
"What did your mom tell you exactly?" I pointed at Peter and asked
"She said that the fire investigators and the police didn't find anything." he told us "She wouldn't lie to me." Peter finished, obviously hurt that we would even suggest that his mother would lie to him.
"Maybe she didn't lie" Lola jumped into the conversation "I have heard of spells to hide bodies from humans. So it could be that no human police or fire investigators found anything."
Just as Lola finished her explanation Uncle Ryan and Eve walked in Ella and Ethan rushed to them and begain questioning them but as I started to head in there direction to join the questioning, Peter reached out and grabbed my hand guiding me into another room. He led me into our in house dojo which was currently being used as his, Matt and Ken's bedroom. I thought again 3 weeks is a long time, as I noticed the boys had made this look more like a bedroom and less like a dojo.
Peter silently closed the door behind him, and leaned up against it. I glanced around more and more noticed how small this space was for three teenage boys. I felt bad and I think Peter saw it on my face because he softly touched my face and brought my eyes to meet his. "It's ok, it feels like we are off at college in a dorm room or something."
I smiled but I had a sinking feeling he didn't bring me in here to show me his living conditions. Peter took a big breath in before he began to speak "When you escaped, when you weren't yourself. I looked for you in the woods, I had been waundering around for hours, then I smelled smoke and I followed the smell and I came up to my house." He hung his head down "I heard Matt yelling and I went into the house to find him but the roof started to fall and I had to escape and I didn't save him." Peter was close to tears with the pain of not saving his brother, I know the feeling when they said I had hurt Lola so badly, I felt a crushing feeling in my chest.
I steped closer to Peter "You tr…."
"Wait," he said stepping back away from me "I haven't finished, after I got out of the house I saw you standing stareing at the burning house no expression on your face, I pick you up and ran back to this house and locked you back up. Aroura." He whispered my name and looked at my face with such seriousness "I think you might have started the fire."
"No." I wasn't going to belive him I wouldn't hurt a human it made no sence "And if you thought that then why did you not tell anyone?"
Eric just shook his head "I don't have proof and I didn't want you in trouble."
He thought I killed his brother and he still wanted to protect me. My heart fluttered with just the thought of how much he must care. I insticualy stepped closer to him and tuched his arm our eyes met and we both stood still for a long moment, moving closer ever so slightly, we didn't break eye contact and I could feel the anticipation building and I knew we were about to kiss.
"It's not him" Ella burst through the door yelling and paused when she saw Peter and I so close together. We both took a moment then looked at her. "The body it's not Matt."
"Then who is it? And where is Matt?" Peter asked
That was the question wasn't it.
