HALEY HAD ANOTHER DREAM
Chrystal felt her head will explode the way it was hurting, how could I miscalculated this whole marriage business. From the very begenning after his proposal to me there were so many setbacks and so many disappointments like if there were a force fighting to keep us separated.
Not knowing what to do anymore and all her effort and late-night strategizing of this plan is being flushed down the toilet. This all seems like a bad dream that started five months ago and there is no ending to it, oh God I just want to wake up and say yes to his proposal.
Vince on the other hand had realized the seriousness of the situation and the foolishness he has done,
Glimpsing at Chrystal knowing the tricks she keeps pulling lately on Sidney has weaken her and becoming more harmfull. Oh Lord, what if Chrystal becomes very violent and do something really bad to Sidney? Concluded in his mind that this mischievious act she concouted was done purposely to get Sidney out of the house.'
Having an unsettling feeling suddenly as he thought of the previous incident Vince began to whisper a silent prayer for Sidney safety.
'Oh God, You know that I am very sorry after I confess my love to her Friday night, I have failed her and You right after, but if what I am feeling now has something to do with Sidney being in danger.
Lord I am asking for Your protection and Your angels to surround her wherever she is, sends help to her. I pray that whatever sneered Chrystal has plotted will fail just like all the others before. Keep her safe for me please Jesus I beg You.
I know I should have been strong enough when Chrystal came with her sweet words to push her aside and not entertain her, I knew how Sidney opposed Chrystal when she visited. Now all my efforts to get her to remain home is gone in vain, and so is she, her family will suffer because I was too weak and stupid to say no."
Seeing Doctor Joseph hurrying, Vince stood up ad approaches im, hearing him saying, "Vince, I am really surprised to get this call."
When Michael said, "This way Doctor, please hurry."
1Richard watch as he pulls the oxygen hose and hooks it upon him after attending to him then hooks up the IV. He then calls the hospital making arrangements for a nurse to come in immediately. Listening as he instructed the nurse on her duties.
Outside of dad room, everyone was waiting when Doc Joseph said to the family, "I had warned you all, that if this happens, it might be tragic and unamendable, and where is Sidney? She was doing such a good job, within the last four months, he never got sick?"
"She is not a home doc," Richard replies.
When Georgia walks in, holding Haley's hand, noticing the Doctor, she asks, "Bil, has something happened? Why is the doctor here?"
Seeing her concern Vince said, "Georgia, I am glad you are here?"
Looking at him knowing immediately something was wrong, "What's going on, and where is Sid?"
When Chrystal said, "She left the house and gone, that is why GP got sick."
"She did what? No, no, no that is not good, tell me Bil, when did that happen? And why didn't anyone tell us?" Georgia hugs Haley, "It's alright honey, it seems your dream was true."
"George, Sis wanted to visit Jeff since Friday," Haley told Georgia.
Vince see how Georgia's face changed as her brows furrowed up he had never seen that before, she was always smiling but he had seen that said look in Sidney many times. Boy, I used to think they are so different but they are so alike.
He knew immediately that she was angry, but when she spoke to Haley she wanted to reassure her that all was okay. this child is what has them calm and happy.
Recalling their age difference now she is about twelve years younger than Carol but Sidney, Jeff and Georgia protect her more than a mother hen.
"Okay honey, you just relax I will call Jeff if he isn't working he will come, also we will know if she was visiting him?"
Hearing Jeff, answer his phone, George said, "Jeff, I need you to come up immediately by Bil's house, Sid is missing."
Then she calls Caroline to contact all her friends and let her know if she heard anything of her whereabouts.
Turning to Vince, Georgia asks, "Now Mister you answer me, what have you done to cause my sister to leave? Because she is not a weak person to run from a problem?"
"Vince, don't love your sister, it is simple as that," Chrystal said.
Georgia turns to face her saying, "Is that so? Well if you know what is good for yourself, you will listen to me, I did not ask you, so keep your mouth shut, and let me hear for myself what he has to say, do you hear me?"
"You cannot speak to me like that? Do you know who I am?"
Feeling the slap, Vince could not believe how fast her hand move. "You don't listen, do you? Now if my sister is not home within two days, I will make your life hell, do you hear me and you need to know who I am, not the other way around?
Now Mister what happen to my sister?" Vince looks at her, 'This is not the Georgia he knows; her temper is worst than Sidney's. Sidney still controls her rage with others but Georgia is different.'
When Chrystal opens her mouth feeling the other slap, then turns around once more asking, "Now, I am asking you before Jeff reaches, what did you do so my sister could leave here?"
"Let us go outside and talk," Vince said.
"Vince!" Chrystal calls out.
But before Chrystal could say another word Georgia was already standing in front of her. "God, you are such a stubborn fool, next time you open your mouth you will be sorry, so do yourself a favour and stay quiet, and you better not have anything to do with my sister leaving this house?"
Releasing Haley's hold from her hand, "Stay here honey I will be right back then she walks outside with Vince, when Haley screams out, George re-enters the room, holding Haley, "What is wrong honey?"
Seeing Chrystal standing behind Vanda, Haley's face was red, Georgia said to her in a calm yet controlling and demanding tone, "It seems you are braver than I thought?"
Vince sees when she rushes up to Vanda, but he grabs hold of her hand, seeing her rage, but she was brisker than he had anticipated.
When she freed her hand, from his and walk up to Vanda once more, who had stepped back and Chrystal block her face, she only sidesteps Vanda, hitting Chrystal with one kick from the side, causing her to fall flat on her back.
Unable to believe what he just saw, 'How did she do that?' Then she said without any fear, "Now, you can call the Doctor and the Police, no one hit my sister and gets away.
And another thing you better thank your lucky stars that it is I here, and not Sidney or you would have been flat on your face the minute you touch Haley, then you would have thought she was a beast."
"Sidney, can defend herself?" Vince questioned her, still shocked by what he just observed.
"Yes Bil, Sidney trains battered women to defend themselves, that quiet and gentle woman can be a beast at times, but she has a lot of self-control."
SIDNEY COULD DEFEND HERSELF
Listening as Georgia continues to say, "My sister knows when to avoid a bad situation, so don't take her silence or calmness for weakness, she can be deadly and can endure pain as if she is drinking cool water on a hot day."
Seeing his face turn pale as the blood drain slowly, Georgia heard his whispers, "This is not true, when she was attacked, she was scared to death."
"No, my friend, you get that back for the front, she was afraid for the offenders. My sister holds a black belt. And you will be amazed she can beat more than two to four men according to how skilful they can fight. She might be weak but when she puts her mind to doing something she succeeds."
'Wondering at that moment if Gilbert knew about this side of her. I am living in the same room with her for four months and if George didn't say something I would never have guessed.'
Recalling how quickly she was in front of him when she pokes the villain, no one would have known she didn't eat for two days or even lose blood. I am sure she hesitated seeing it was three of them. and they were fairly tough, she sure did avoid a bad situation. I had a hard time managing them but with her getting one down I had an upper hand.
Also, she must have been praying for me to reach and rescue her. Oh Lord, if what Georgia is saying is true, then that could be her reason for hesitating.'
Responding to Georgia, "I would never have guessed, was GP, aware of this?" As the news soaks in he said, "Oh God, how I have made a mess of my life and she did say she love her life, also that day she came and begged me to speak to GP, she said we were disrupting her life. She seems to like being by herself and doing her thing, whatever that may be?"
Vanda, just stood listening, thinking, 'All this time I thought she was boring and her clothes were a drag, but that day she had dressed to go and train the women to fight, according to what Georgia is saying now.
I had never given her a chance and since that night of the party, I should have recognised the difference between her and Chrystal. She wanted to defend my family and Chrystal, all she claims is she is my friend and loves my family she was the one to start that disgraceful rumor.
How could I be so blind trying to defend her in front of GP, when I know nothing miss his eyes, and hearing I disappointed him might even be more difficult for him to approve my allowance once more?
When Jeff enters the room saying, "George, I didn't get that last part of your message." Vince looks at him and observed immediately how he was dressed, his white T-shirt and navy blue pants just like the police uniform, and so were his shoes, 'Is he a police officer and which station he is working in?
When I went to the quarry about Sidney and make the report I didn't see him and Sidney was talking to Inspector Albert. If Jeff is the police why was she speaking to another?'
Hearing Georgia asking, "Is Maryann with Mom, Jeff?" Vince recalls Haley calling Maryann, 'So this Maryann is Jeff's wife? So she went to her brother's home before the wedding. this is good intell, I am beginning to learn more about her family.'
"Yes, but what is going on? My phone went dead after I heard to come to Bil's house?"
"Jeff, Sidney, has left here since Saturday, and no one told us she was missing, and from what I observe here, no one seems to know where she is from this house?"
"George, Sidney spent the weekend with Kellie and Maryann, from what Maryann said she came very early Saturday morning right after I leave for work."
"Jeff, Haley said she was coming since Friday, I know she comes to you and tells you her plans, what did the two of you discuss?"
"That is the thing George, we had no discussion, which was strange and I was working the entire weekend, so we didn't get any chance to speak with each other, but from what Maryann said, she just wanted to spend time with Kellie."
Standing up, Vince felt a slight relief thanking God, she didn't reveal anything about what had occurred the night before.
Taking a deep breath Vince asks, "Did Sidney say anything about leaving her job to any of you?"
"No, are you saying she left her job?" Jeff look so surprised when he said. "She loves her job so why would she leave it?"
Vince sees him stop and covers his mouth as he looks at him. Wondered what must be going through his mind seeing the frown on his face.
Having no choice Vince ignores Jeff's expression, saying, "When I visited her workplace Monday morning, they inform me that she resigns from her job and leave town."
Vince, observed how Jeff slump down on the floor holding his head, he seems concerned, when he did speak, "Georgia, who is attending to the business of the Hall?"
"She is, she always handles all the financial side of the business."
"Well don't worry she will come to handle the contractors, my concern is she loves her job so what could cause her to do something so drastic, especially in a time like this when she knows we need the cash to complete the Hall?
When Caroline calls George, "Yes Carol?" While George speaks to Caroline, Jeff keeps looking at Vince, wondering, 'What has he done so terrible for her to leave without informing anyone? I know she tells grandma Kate everything but with her unwell these few days I doubt very much she said anything to her.
For her to make this sudden decision I am sure she was desperate to get away, but she never said anything to me nor Maryann whom she confides in almost every plan or idea, so it has to be something very personal.'
JEFF QUESTIONED VINCE
Jeff waited for George and Caroline to finish speaking,
Georgia heard Carol saying, "George, her friends know nothing of her whereabouts. I just called the contractor and he said she told him Monday, that she had an assignment and needed him to overseer the job until it was completed."
"Carol, did he say anything about payments?"
Hearing her saying, "He said everything is in order." Gorge consider what Carol told her of payment, thinking, 'How is that possible when she recently told me the insurance money was insufficient to complete the job, so where did she get money to pay the contractor?'
Jeff waited patiently until she finish her conversation with Carol, noticing she look rattled by the news Carol gave her.
Watched as she secured her phone in her pocket and then asks, "George, does she have the amount of finance to complete the work?"
Not wanting him to panic, Vince notices Jeff's concern, when Georgia said, "She knows what she is doing Jeff, now we need to find Sid because, if Mom only hears, I don't want to think what will happen?" Vince sees the worried frown on both of their faces.
When Jeff asks him, "My sister is not a person to run from situations or problems, in fact, she trains her mind to be calm when a problem arises. She cooks to do her thinking, or she seeks out a quiet and homely spot, but running away is not one of her traits."
Jeff looks Vince in his eyes, "So, what did you do to make her run away from the people she loves?"
Hugging Haley, Jeff said, "This child is Sid's life." Vince realized he was serious and wanted answers, from his facial expression, understanding exactly how angry he was because Sidney has the same reaction as him, and today he saw Georgia with the exact expression.
When these people become angry you can read their faces like an open book. Having no answer for him and unable to see the tears in Haley's eyes any longer.
Vince opens his arms, and Haley walks straight into it, hugging her he whispers, "Honey, I am very sorry your sister left, now I don't want you to be scared but I will need you to tell me, what did you dream about your sister? It's will be all right, we will find her, I promise you."
Jeff looks at how Haley hugs him without hesitation, he realized at that moment Haley likes him a lot, not like the other two whom she was very reserved about, she never went to them, nor did she speaks to them when they visit at home.
She always goes to her room crying, and nothing anyone told her made her happy, but since Sid got married to Bil she visits this home and she remains happy and always talks about him.
Observing when she nod for Bil and said, "I dreamed she had her bag and she was leaving, but she was not going home, she passed our home with the taxi and was waving to me, when I called after her, she was crying but she didn't stop."
"Good girl, that means your sister went opposite of here," Standing Vince released Haley as he said, "I will be starting my search towards Long Beach, if we all go together, I am sure we should find her.
I can't say how sorry I am, but you all may think just like your sister, that I don't love her, but I do. My grandfather doesn't want to see me, because I have disappointed him, right now he is fighting for his life because of me.
I hate myself so much, but I keep repeating the same mistakes, hurting the people I love, but I am going to search until I find her."
"Bil, did she hear or see something to cause her to run?"
Closing his eyes, Vince thought, 'This might be the only opportunity he might get to clear himself, just in case they found her first. It will also give him a fighting chance of these two siding with him. They might sympathize and help to influence her to return with him.
"I am sorry to say but yes, I had only confessed my love to her, and it was late, so I told her I will get her a meal while she shower. While I was fixing her meal Chrystal came and hug me, at that said time she came and saw that, she was hungry, but she never got to eat, that night she slept hungrily, did she eat when she came to visit you, Jeff?"
"I can't say, only Maryann could answer that, I was at work and Maryann didn't mention anything, all she said was Sid came to spend time with Kallie."
Feeling such a relief Vince stood up and turns aside brushing the tears away, thinking even though I hurt her she still protect me not revealing what had occurred.
Jeff never took his eyes away from him, considering what he just heard. 'Could it be that my sister has finally fallen in love with Bil and seeing him with this woman she becomes jealous, and that is what causes her to run?'
Looking at Chrystal then Vince again Jeff knew he had to make a threat to frighten Bill. From what I observed he is not aware of our profession which is why he opens up so easily. Knowing Sid, I am sure she hasn't spoken about us.'
"George," Jeff whispers to her, "Do you think Sid has fallen in love with her husband, and because she sees this woman hugging him, she becomes jealous thinking he loves this woman and he tries to deceive her, that is why she ran?"
George observed Vince, and how worried he was looking, "You could be right Jeff, but we have to find her first, I know he is worried about her if not for himself but for his grandfather."
