When Vince heard what Sidney ordered he became angry saying, "Is that all you are having for lunch?" He quarries knowing he told his grandfather she was eating better now.
"I am not that hungry, so this will be sufficient until dinner."
"Waiter just brings a small corn soup for my child please."
"Yes Sir."
"Son, it's all right."
"GP, she barely eats any food." Keeping her head bent afraid to whisper a word, hoping that the portion will be as it normally does. When our meals did come, Sidney was pleased with the portion that was placed in front of us.
Seeing his surprise as he glared at the plate, "Is this one portion or two?" Vince asks seeing the portion-sized
"It's one portion, Sir," the waiter replies, "The Madam always order this portion."
Vince looks at her as she smiles, knowing she was laughing at him with her head bent, "Sidney, I can't believe you did this intentionally," hearing his grandfather laughing when she asked the waiter to get her a container to take away some.
"Yes, Madam," noticing her smiling as she eats then when she places a piece of fish on his plate and took a piece of chicken, GP look very pleased.
Wanting so much to ease the tension between them, Sidney felt pleased she accomplished her task quite efficiently. After a few minutes seeing him eating the fish and the way he was enjoying it. Sidney see the smile wondering what he must be thinking but his grandfather seems pleased when I give him a piece of fish and he never took his eyes from us.
Sidney knew Vince's concern about her and it was very touching. Within these four weeks I know he has been watching me, and I enjoy preparing his meals but he has his friend so us being married doesn't matter. I know he did it to please his grandfather,.but this marriage is just a show and a facade to him, he is not serious.'
Sidney placed the container in her bag when she saw both of them finish eating. Looking at her time, "Do you mind if I just drop this off for Haley and then come home?"
"It's okay you go ahead and I will pass by and collect you when I finish working."
"You don't have to do that."
"Child, he will come for you, remain by your mom and spend some time with her."
"Okay Grandpa, Mom will like that." Thinking they are spoiling her plan but she could utilize the time and attend to the business at hand, leaving them still sitting annoyed a bit.
Walking away whispering, "Those two are spoiling my plan, now I cannot go and meet Maryann and the girls, but Thank God, I didn't call them before to let them know I was planning to visit."
Vince looks at her walking through the restaurant door thinking, 'This was so nice, I know if GP was not here she would have turned down my invitation. I didn't see her leave home this morning but although she isn't working she still dresses so businesslike.'
Fifteen minutes after Sidney left, GP seems satisfied after drinking his coffee. hearing the way he was speaking I could sense that he was pleased that all was well between us. Holding his hand after he received the order he made for Charles we walk slowly to the carpark. Charles had to get a few things for Venessa so he turned down GP's invitation for lunch.
Sitting in the taxi, 'At least Haley will appreciate this, and I could spend some time with Mom, giving her the good news, and explain to Caroline what we will have to do from tomorrow.
And I could visit the girls and my working colleagues tomorrow to introduce this investment."
Sitting in his office alone, Vince ponders about the lunch they had, 'She is very smart, she does things so GP will believe that everything is okay. She also agrees with what he says, knowing exactly how to get GP to settle down. Boy, I feel like such a fool, how could I not realize when she ordered, that she was aware of the portion-sized, because she and Gilbert always had lunch there.'
Closing his eyes recalling the ways she was enjoying her meal, 'I wonder if she sees I was glimpsing at the fish?'
Relaxing in his chair with his eyes close when the knock came. Angry with Gloria for disturbing him, he knew he didn't have an appointment. Saying to come in, hearing the click as the door opened but he kept his eyes still closed, "Yes Gloria what is it."
"Sorry Boss, but it is I."
Opening his eyes seeing Elvis standing there with his arms fold and a smug look plastered all over his face, wondering what he was up to? "Yes, Mr Elvis, what can I do for you?"
When he said, "Sir, I was just having lunch and I heard you got married so I came to congratulate you." 'Goodness, that was one of the reasons I didn't want anyone to know, now the whole building will hear with his bla-bar-mouth.'
"Thank you, but that is not necessary and that is long gone so tell me have you resolved your issues with those women?" Wanting to change the topic.
'Long gone, so how long ago did he marry and why hasn't anyone seen his wife? has something happened? I must pick Gloria in a subtle way to get some answers.'
"Sir, there is nothing to resolve, when those ladies return to the office, I promise to have nothing to do with them. What those ladies didn't understand is I just wanted a dinner companion that's all and they took it to heart. There is so much I have to learn about women, some are ready to do anything for you, while others seem to care less. For example, your secretary is crazy in love with you and though matter what I tell her she just pushes me aside."
