Closing his door, he slips the piece of paper into an envelope as she asks, but then his eyes glimpse the number, taking the number that he found in his pocket earlier, looking at the both numbers together.

Tuesday morning before five, seeing Vince was sound asleep, Sidney set his breakfast tray on the centre table and lays out his clothes for work on the sofa.
Taking her bag and briefcase and head out, giving the taxi driver the address, "Ma'am, this is two hours drive."
"Yes, I know but don't worry; I will pay you to stay the extra hour and my return trip."
"Thanks, Ma'am," reaching the main office, she made her investment two years ago for seven forty-five. Sidney waited, giving the taxi driver money to purchase a sandwich and juice for her and something for himself.
Anxious to know if these people were for real, 'I don't mind I lose my money but I can't let anyone else get caught in the same trap. I mainly invested because James was persistent but this cheque is too good to be true.'
When it was exactly eight-o-clocks, the office door opened and she enters, seeing the security standing just as she enters, Sidney went to speak with him, who instructed her to take a number and have a seat.
Half eight her number was called and she enters the Clerk's Office, "Good morning, Ma'am, please have a seat and tell me, how can I help you?"
Opening the briefcase Sidney extracted the folder then said, "I invested in this agency two years ago in my mother's name; this here is the contract, I was wondering if it has matured?"
He looks at her afraid to say the wrong thing, knowing only yesterday he was briefed on how to speak with clients on behalf of the business. Giving all the information on the laptop, but how did she move so quickly?'
Giving the person the contract and waiting as he searched. "Ma'am, here is a readout and any day now you will collect a cheque of fifty thousand dollars."
Reading the statement in front of her, unable to believe that the investment was not a scam, her co-workers keep repeating that she was corned; now this will prove that I am not as stupid as they say I am.' Sidney looks at the young man and said, "Can I ask you something?"
"What's that Ma'am?"
"I was wondering if I invested, the cheque that you have sent to me, what would be the income in two years from now."
"Well, ma'am with your fifty thousand you invested, you get, one hundred thousand in two years, with one hundred and fifty thousand you can get something like almost half-million but we hold back the same amount you invested to double your investment."
"So, what if I want to withdraw my investment, say in two years from now?"
"Ma'am to do that, you will have to come in six months before and inform the agency, but why would you want to do that? When your investment is growing at a rapid passé."
"I am just curious and weighing my options if I should continue."
"Ma'am, you seem to be very intelligent, when it comes to investing, but I want you to know from what I see here. You were one of our first sets of investors, it was a chance you took that was risky.
Ma'am, now that the agency has developed, and you gain to earn more than the others, it is not wise to withdraw."
"Why, do you say I gain more than the others?"
"Ma'am, when we started it was risky but you invested putting your faith in this agency, now that we are stabilize the new investors don't get that amount in their investment.
When you are getting a hundred per cent in your investment, they will only be getting sixty."
"What you are saying, I get my fifty I invested plus a fifty is added to my account, but the new investors will only be getting about thirty and thirty will be added to their account."
"Exactly!"
"But why the drastic change?"
"Ma'am, we took a risk as I said before, but now we know what we have to do, the agency is growing, and only our first set of investors are entitled to get this offer."
"Okay, saying I understand what you are saying, just supposed I want to double my investment, would my investment be the same or will it be like the offers they are giving to the new investors?"
"Yours will be the same, only new investors get the cut, in fact, they won't know about your offer, they will only know that their investment will bring in half the amount they invested, in two years, tell me, did you know that fifty thousand will be added to your account?"
"No!"
"It's the same with our new investors, they won't know when they receive a cheque for thirty thousand, that thirty will atomically be added to their account."
"So, say now that I know that this business is legitimate, and I get people to invest, what cut I get?"
Hearing him laugh, "Ma'am our sales rep gets an award with a bonus package, not an investor."
"Well, you can't blame a girl for trying, and thanks for your time and all the information you imparted to me."
Securing the statement together with the contract, Sidney switched off her phone then left and sits once more in the taxi.
Saying to the driver, "Let us return to Escondido."
"You, look please Ma'am?"
"Yes, hopefully, I can sleep well seeing that I am satisfied with the report I received."
"Ma'am, that office you visited isn't that a financial institution?"
"Yes, they are, I just came to quarry about the credibility of this agency, because a gentleman came promoting that if you invest fifty thousand within two years you will get a return of thirty thousand in interest. Now tell me the honest truth, is that possible?"
"No way ma'am, that is a hoax to get people money."
