Lisa decided to leave the thoughts of finding the battleship until later. She took Kikei back to her sleeping quarters. "It has been a long day, have a sleep and we will deal with the boys' in the morning". Kikei didn't say anything in return but headed off to her bed. Lisa was incredibly tired herself, but still wanted to go check on Chris and Jania.
"So you going to tell them?" asked a will-o-wisp. Lisa sighed, she was too tired to deal with these dragons and their cryptic messages.
"Why should I tell you? So you can tell me I have to make a decision or something. If you know the best outcome why don't you just tell us what to do." She always felt like the dragons were playing them.
"Ah young Lisa, it doesn't work that way, we have tried that before and the universe always corrects itself. The universe wants you to choose not us. So you going to tell them?"
"There is nothing to tell them. It's not her baby it's the colony. She doesn't need Kikei or Null and Infy confusing her with their theories" replied Lisa.
"You wouldn't be saying that if you could see the world as those three do. You humans, think that life is only physical and ignore the spiritual aspect. I would think after all you've seen, you would be more open-minded."
Lisa was in no mood to have a philosophical debate with a dragon spirit projection."Honestly, it's none of your business what I do, and do not tell people. I will make my own decisions without you"
Lisa could tell the will-o-wisp was angry its aura had changed significantly. "you wouldn't be so arrogant if you knew what was at stake. Let me show you the dreams that have haunted all dragons for the last 14 years since Null and Infinity were born"
Lisa now found herself in a completely different location, she was onboard an advanced warship.
"Welcome to our spiritual realm, enjoy the show"
Lisa was on was an observation ship and she looked at the projections onboard and saw literally billions of different ships surrounding a single object. The object was obscured from the scanners onboard the ship. She recognised some of the races like dwarves, angels and even dragons. She couldn't understand the communications but she could sense the fear and desperation they carried.
Lisa couldn't understand what so many advanced races could be scared of. She watched as they all fired their weapons and cast their spells towards the object. Lisa was awed at the level of power on display. The power of these spells was enough to destroy a star system. What came next took her by surprise. Laughter emanated from the object, and it had a familiar sound to it.
"You have all been judged, the milky way is to be purged for its sins." Lisa recognised the voice but not its owner. She could clearly see the object now, and it was 100 foot tall human with 12 wings on its back glowing gold. She knew instantly that it was Null and Infy, but the look on their face was not something she had ever seen. It was a mixture of rage and madness.
The future Null waved his hand, and the billions of ships around them started to vaporise. There was no fighting back or survival. To fight this bringer of this misery and destruction was guaranteed death yet they persisted. The future Null continued to laugh as he slaughtered everything in his path.
"This is the first, of many. Our dreams are filled with battles like these until the milky way ceases to exist." Stated the will-o-wisp.
Lisa's spirit had been returned to its body on Ollhelian. She had no idea where to start in processing what she had just witnessed. She was now deathly afraid of the boys'.
She only had one question "Why don't you just kill him now?"
"We can't, all paths lead to annihilation if we attempt to assassinate them. The attempt is never successful from what Pythia informs us"
"Why show me that?" she asked the dragon.
"So that when the time comes, you think before making your decision"
Lisa saw it as a reprimand for her lack of attention over the last 2 years.
"I still have time, I will do better," she said more to herself than to the dragon.
"do you?" with that the will-o-wisp departed.
Lisa knew that the timing of this visit wasn't a coincidence, she need to find Chris and go find the boys'.
She return to where Jania and Chris were sleeping. After waking Chris up she took him outside and explained what had happened. She was vague about the reason behind Null and Kikei fighting and skipped over the future vision.
Chris could tell his mum was hiding stuff from him but was still able to come to a conclusion. "Null and Infy have found a way to escape and are about to leave without us, it all fits"
"If that is the case we need to find them before they leave." Said Lisa.
But Chris had one question. "Would we leave with them?"
Lisa knew this was the decision the dragons wanted her to think about. At first, the answer would be yes, but upon further introspection, the answer wasn't as clear. They had a good safe life here. They had no reason to leave.
Lisa now understood why the boys' had isolated themselves. They had sensed that maybe the rest of the party didn't want to leave as there was nothing for them out in the galaxy. She didn't know how to answer Chris's question.
Meanwhile, Kikei didn't go to bed like Lisa had asked her to, she had slipped out of her room to go find the boys'. She had lied when she said they were on their battleship. She knew where they would be and made her way over to the birthing pod that had Jania baby in it. She would clearly see the aura that belonged to Jania daughter and familiar Aura belonging to the boys'
Kikei slowly approached the pod, she knew that she couldn't sneak up on them but also hoped they wouldn't run. She saw their aura started to spike and knew they were running. "Stop, enough already it's been 4 months. Stop being a coward and face me". They stop casting their spell but didn't say anything.
"Look you both have every right to be angry at me, but running away for months doesn't solve anything. Come on yell at me, or at least say something".
"She beautiful isn't she," Kikei wasn't expecting that, but she had to agree.
"yes, she is"
"Can we?", Kikei knew what they were asking, they wanted to merge their vision with hers. They had experimented with it a few times so she knew what to expect.
"Yes you may", She was then flooded with sounds and sights but it was not as overwhelming as the first time.
Kikei was curious about what they could hear. "Can you share the soul field melody?"
The sound was sad and painful, she couldn't understand why.
Infy explained it to her. "Souls seem to bond with each other. Her soul has bonded with both Jania and Chris's. That bond is now stretched and is causing the Soul some stress, hence the sound"
Kikei realised she should have done this first, instead of getting into that fight.
"so you are saying that Chris and Jania are her actual parents, even if they don't know it?"
"yes" replied Null, he had a single tear running down his cheek.
"you're leaving without us aren't you?" Kikei knew that they had been working on a way to escape for the last two years and she didn't doubt they would find a way.
"Take me with you, you need me"
"But I'm not human, wouldn't you rather be with the humans," said Null in full seriousness.
"I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking and I didn't mean to hurt you" Kikei wasn't sure how many more times she would need to say sorry.
"I might not be fully human but I still have feelings, the other humans are scared of me"
"I know you both have feelings, and the other humans just don't know you if they did they would like you, just like I do.. well hopefully not quite the same way "
"huh? Why not" the boy's were confused by the last statement
"Don't worry if I have to explain it, it's not worth it." Honestly, her feeling towards the boys' was extremely complicated and she didn't want to think about it at the moment.
"Anyway, can I come with you?"
For the first time, in a while, Null smiled
"We would like that" without waiting for a reply the two of them disappeared.
They both reappear on the observation deck of Null and Infy new battleship. Kikei looked out the window and saw 100's of small ships.
"You have been busy, since the last time I was here. Where are we going first?"
"We are getting Zero back"
