They still lacked the Zallium to build all the features they wanted into the four ships but they could at least start designing and outlining the key features. The first step was to identify the role of each ship since much had changed since the boys' had built the Aethon and The Eous.
Each ship would still have a merge pod interface but the pilot would be fully conscious and they would use their AI to interface with the ship. This would allow for the ships to become more responsive to the party needs and the boy's had hoped that once everyone was in sync the ship's performance would improve.
Infy had spoken to each member of the teams to work out what they wanted in their personal ships. There were still many features they just couldn't implement yet, either from lack of resources or know now.
Jania wanted The Eous to be invisible and agile. The role of the Eous would be the infiltrator of the group. She wanted it to maintain its current squid-like shape but each leg instead of having a merge pod would be filled with survival and spy equipment. This was important as it wouldn't always be possible to use the return spell to summon their shelter.
It was decided that four of the legs would become storage for equipment and the other four would hold Laser attachments for defence. The nano-particle field emitter thruster would still be maintained but using their current knowledge it could now be made far more efficient and faster than before. They had also improved their weight-reducing alloy Mastril making the ship incredible light and easier to accelerate to high speed.
They had borrowed Zallium from Bolat belonging so they could finalise the Eous. Its active camouflage was still technology-based but its invisible cloaking device would now be developed using magic. It still worked on the same principles and that was to make all electromagnetic waves pass through them.
In the end, the ship had 4 major field technology installed. Invisibility, anti-field shield, Energy Shield and constant gravity field.
It took some time for Leia, Jania AI to get used to the new ship. It was only because of Jania unique implant that she was able to make the most of the agility of the ship. It took a few test flights but Jania, Leia and The Eous were acting in sync. She was ready for her mission.
"Not yet, we need to get the other ships ready in case we need to save you." Cautioned Infy.
It was Chris turn to explain what he wanted to Infy and Null. He was getting a new ship The Pyrois.
The Pyrios made a statement. It was a one ship army. Chris was not trained to be a pilot and there was the regular lag between his AI and himself meaning agility was never going to be their strong suit. The Pyrios was an annulus shape ship that would have a 100-foot red sun inside its void. This Sun would be used to power all its shielding spells and also help power the 1000 drones that the ship would be able to summon.
The Pyrios also had the most technologically advanced computers boys' could design. This would help remove the stress on the AI in controlling so many drones. It would also have armour made using a new alloy, that had been improved by the boy's changing its properties so it was stronger and harder than it should be. This made the Pyrios the tank of the group.
To finalise this design they would need to earn some more Zallium and design and build the drones but it was a start. They had already created a VR version of the ship so Chris and Argus could train their synergy.
Lisa and her AI Sia were next to get a new ship, The Phlegon. It was not the prettiest of names but either was the ship. The Phelgon was a mobile forward operating base. It would be a miniature version of the workshop and research section of the golden chariot. It would be filled with high-tech scanning and surveying tools.
The Phelgon, not only acted as a home away from home, but it was also a deadly gunship. The Phelgon was a perfect cube with 24 retractable turrets one turret in each corner of the cube. It also carried a substantial layout of missiles. It didn't require any unique field improvements and used the same shield and gravity technology as the Eous.
If backed into a corner, The Phelgon could dish out a tremendous amount of firepower in a short time
Finally, it was time for the Aethon to get an upgrade. This was the quick response ship of the party. It looked like an arrowhead and it had a merge pod, an engine and a shield. It had one job and one job only, to get Null and Infy to a location as fast as possible. The boys' were going to rely on their spellcasting abilities to make up for its lack of offence power. They were working on an Anti-field cannon but they had not been able to get it to function correctly yet.
Now that all four ships were designed it was time to fabricate each of them and send Jania off on her mission.
