Tom Frost was a living a normal life he had a loving family a beautiful wife, they have been married for 7 years now with 2 kids one a boy and the other a girl. During a stormy night as he was sleeping he had a dream well a nightmare to be exact, Tom has been suffering from insomnia the past couple months from this nightmare but he would see the scene from a bird eye view, this time he was in the middle of area surrounding him was a barren wasteland with corpses of human and weird looking creatures their arms were giant blades as for their legs were just normal legs of ant there multiple variations of the creatures. Before he could comprehend what happened a searing pain overcame his body shaking him from his nightmare forcing Tom to sit up in his bed covered in cold sweat looking around seeing his wife laying in bed next to him calming his breathing besides the gruesome scene he just saw a billboard laying on the ground clearly read 6/12/XXXX.
June was only a month away Tom wasn't sure if the nightmare was true or not but something told him it was, so the following morning he went to multiple supermarkets to buy as much canned food,medicines,first aids,as well water. Upon coming home with a box truck of "Groceries" his wife pulled him aside "Tom what's all this stuff?" Tom's wife was a Mexican woman her name was Maddie who was 5'6 only a couple inches shorter than her husband she had beautiful hazelnut eyes with brown hair that went down to waist.
Tom then explained his nightmare to his wife "I know I might sound like a crazy person but hey doesn't hurt to be safe plus all the stuff won't go bad for a couple months" Tom exclaimed hoping his wife could also see his reasoning, but sadly she didn't all she did was look at him confused and a bit mad they weren't poor but still this was going overboard this surely wasn't something they could financially recover from. She has been worried about her husband health ever since he been getting less and sleep even after going to a doctor to prescribe him some medication it helped calm and let him sleep but each week he would need to take more and more medication to fall asleep. Looking at her husband he had bags under his eyes and his hair was messy and greasy like he hasn't showered in a couple days taking a deep breath.
"Honey I think you need to go see a doctor for real you look like you haven't slept in days and plus this" she pointed at the box truck "is insane how do you plan to recover from buying a box truck of groceries" looking at her husband she felt she convinced him to seek help but she only made it worse.
"Maddie sweetie the whole world is gonna change we need to prepared" reaching out his hand to place on her shoulder, but she step back shaking her head before the kids to pack some clothes their gonna go to grandma. "Maddie you can't take the kids we don't have much time" Tom raised his voice a bit after a couple minutes later Maddie and the kids were packed with clothes as they got in her car Tom tried to stop her but she ignored him and his words.
Tom was now left alone standing in his driveway, but he still warned her about the date throughout the following month he filled his house with various groceries and medical supplies he even bought a couple guns and lots of ammunition to go with each gun he didn't know if they would be effective against those creatures, but it doesn't hurt to have a weapon on defense. He kept trying to get ahold of his wife to see if she has prepared anything for the upcoming catastrophe but he has failed each time but upon the week of the D-day an unexpected eclipse happened and the sun was blocked at from the sky for 3 minutes then the following day the sun was blocked out for an hour.
"Yes reporting from news channel we've been informed from NASA that the disappearance of the sun has been due to Mayan people predicting the disaster of 2012" people have lost any scene of hope as they started raiding stores for any amount of supplies, even the police that got involved couldn't handle the situation until the military showed up but that wasn't as helpful it did cause crime to drop only because all the stores have been raided previously.
Tom was watching the news as he looked at the date only 3 days left until the world changed at least according to his dream.
