Chapter 220 - Chapter 220, The End of the Black Humunculus

"We'll help." Will says but I stop him.

"This is between that thing, me and Growth." I say as I held my sword tightly.

"Alright then." Will pats my head and walks away, we'll help with the search."

"Thanks." I answered with a smile. "Growth, you ready?"

"Yeah. Let's do this!" He says and charges at the Black Humunculus once more.

"Petals! Bladed Flurry!" My Petals dance and attack the Black Humunculus.

A blast of dark Vi shoots towards us but Growth and I easily dodge it. Growth attacks it repeatedly and mamanges to slash it and send it flying.

'Arata, it's acting weird.' Growth warns me telepathically and I agree. 'Its not like when we battled it last time. It should have more power than this.'

'It portably hasn't recovered from the previous battles. It's good news for us.' I stated as I held my sword and charges at it. 'Lets end this Growth.'

"Claw of Fate!" Growth slashes down hard and slashes the Black Humunculus which is unresponsive.

"Blade of Destiny, Fate Fulfilled!" Without hesitation I cut the Black Humunculus' head off and I see that even though it's been decapitated it's still alive. "Where's the source?"

I scan the body and seek out the artificial heart of the Black Humunculus. It's not attached to the body?

"Tch. So that's why it wasn't acting like normal?" I clicked my tongue.

"What do we do? Do we search for its core?" Growth asked.

"Everyone, please keep your eyes out for anything that contains a large amount of Vi." I alerted the others on the communicators.

"Did something happen?" President Mayumi asked.

"The Black Humunculus' core isn't in it's body. Thatenas it's somewhere nearby." I stated. "It's impossible for it to be able to move if the core and the body are too far apart. It's nearby."

"We'll keep our eyes peeled." Seiji-san answers and I turn to the decapitated Black Humunculus before me.

"Perfect Prison." Without delaying I seal the Black Humunculus in a barrier and shrink the barrier and the Black Humunculus till it's small enough to fit in my pocket.

"Do we wait or do we search as well?" Growth asked and I nodded.

We split up and begin searching the city up and down for the core of the Black Humunculus and after three hours of searching we find where the core is probably hidden.

"So, are you sure it's this building?" Andrew asked and I nodded.

"With this much Vi gathering in this building it's likely here. We've already destroyed all the Vi=rus synthesizers so we only have to end this and we'll be fine." I stated.

Advancing through the lobby with caution yet haste, we realize there's not a single soul or Chimera in this building.

"The massive Vi seems to be coming from the fifth floor." Growth states and I send my Petals ahead to check the area.

"No sign of anything dangerous on the second floor or any other floor for that matter. Let's go." I proceed up the stairs till finally we arrive at the fifth floor.

On the fifth floor we find something unbelievable and outrageous. An orb is stored a in a giant stasis pod and attached to it are to pipes leading to two more pods. One contains a large amount of Vi while the other, I can tell by just one glance, contains a deceased Brave.

"What do we do?" Seiji-san asks.

"Oh Ley Lines I now pray for a miracle, I seek the power to drive away the chaos, purify the darkness in your path, wash away the darkness," I chanted. "That which was born of Vi, now be returned to Vi, to the land of origin, sever the string which connects and call forth the end; Elimination Wave!"

An orb of light forms at my hand and I aim the orb at the core of the Black Humunculus. Without hesitating, I destroy the core in one blast. The barrier in my pocket disappears, meaning the Black Humunculus has finally been played to rest.

My attention now turns to the dead Brave in the stasis pod. Judging by the logo on his shoulder, he was a Brave that served this city. It's highly likely that he died in battle.

"What do we do with him Arata?" Zhen asked.

"We lay him to rest, here in the place where he defended. In his homeland." I stated and with Leon's assistance, we teleport the dead Brave to a sealed space.

Since the dead Brave has likely been dead for a long time, I'm not sure what will happen if we bring him out to the normal world.

"What about this?" Growth points to the Vi tank.

"Be returned to the source of creation, to the cycle of life, to the river of life." With a quick chant I send the Vi back into the Ley Lines. "It should help replenish the Ley Lines for a while."

Outside, we dig a grave for the dead Brave and Leon teleports the dead Brave into the grave. The fact that his body hasn't decayed is highly likely because for a long time, Libra have tampered with the time within this place.

"Thank you for all your hard work." As I tossed down as strand of my hair that turns into a wreath of flowers, I thanked the dead Brave.

The others cover him and before we leave the city I offer my farewell and thanks to the people who fought here.

"May you rest in peace." I lay down a bouquet of flowers formed from strands of my hair.

We return to the school and reunite with Dino and the others.

"So, how was it?" Dino asked and I smiled.

"The source of the Vi=rus has officially been destroyed." I answered.

As we were about to head inside, I hear shouts and then I feel it. A sudden change in the Vi and then a quake unlike anything I've felt before. When I rush outside, I find everyone staring at the skies. When I look up I see something I can't believe. In the distance I see the cities that have been riaeed to the skies and a strange structure descending from the skies. I don't know what that is, but for some reason, there's an ominous yet nostalgic feeling deep inside me.

"Hello there." A familiar voice calls out to us and we turn to see her, Karin flying above us with a large grin on her face. "Shall we begin it? The end."
