Chapter 141 - Chapter 141, Adonis' Flute

"Lia's growing a lot thanks to Ryl and his friends." Adonis said as he and Lucas were sitting at the roof top of the school. "To be honest, I've already recieved my Gift."

"Oh? What's is it?" Lucas asked.

"Special Skill; Symphony." Adonis answered. "It seems to boost my powers as the Vassal Brave of the Flute. What about you?"

"Mine still hasn't awakend yet." Lucas answered.

"Don't worry, I'm sure it will." Adonis said.

"Yeah.... I'm thinking of returning home for a while." Lucas said.

"Return home? To the Hidden Garden? Why?" Adonis asked in surpise, Lucas had always wanted to be away from the Garden since Argent wasn't there.

"I want to train from scratch and start up from the very beginning." He said. "I want to grow stronger too. Argent may have given me a Title but I can't be of use if I can't even use it properly."

"Fair enough." Adonis answered. "I'm staying here. If you're heading home be sure to tell Argent ahead of time."

"Yeah. I know." Lucas answered as he got up. "Time to train with Theo again. You coming?"

"I'll follow you later." Adonis answered and Lucas left him alone on the rooftops.

He lied back down and gazed at the azure blue sky dotted with puffy white clouds. He was so entranced that he began to hum a gentle melody and eventually took out a flute and began to play a gentle tune on it. The sound could be heard throughout the entire school, and Arata who heard it's nostalgic harmony smiled as he sipped his tea with May and the girls.

"This song has been repeating for days now." Lina said. "Where is it coming from?"

"Adonis." Arata smiled.

"It is very peaceful and wonderfully pleasing to the ears." May answered.

"A gentle melody, a forgotten vow, a memory of the distant day." Diana said in a trance.

While they wondered what the Diana meant, Adonis was playing a very special tune on the flute. He called it Memory of Spring and itw as dedicated to Argent and how he brought spring to Adonis' frozen world.

He still clearly remembers the first day he first met Argent. It was raining day, Theo and Ophelia had brought in a child from town who was all alone. While everyone in the village was either wary or suspicious of the child, the Chief greatly welcomed him.

A week had passed since he had joined the village and everyone had warmed up to him. One day, while Adonis was walking down the path to the fields, he heard a song being sung from the distant hill. When he followed it, he could feel the lyrics of the song, it was so beautiful. He had never been one to enjoy music before, nor did he have any form of entertainment. He had never liked them and often found them a waste of time. His world was one filled with only work and no desire for enjoyment.

"Gentle love song, precious love, my melody to you is the song of my heart." Argent was singing and Adonis was listening when he stepped on a twig and Argent turned to him. "Adonis, hello."

"Ah... yeah, hello." Adonis was unsure on what to do when Argent patted the ground beside him.

"Wanna sing with me?" Argent asked him.

"I don't sing." Adonis answered and Argent handed him a flute. "I don't know how to play this."

"I'm sure you can learn." Argent smiled.

It was a warm smile Adonis had not seen before and he wanted to see it again. The two eventually growed closer and one day, without either of the two saying it, the became good friends. Playing their songs and singing on the hill where they first met.

Adonis began to enjoy music and one day, he began writing his own songs. Theo and Ophelia were extremely thankful to Argent for showing Adonis a life besides work but Argent only wanted to help Adonis find some happiness.

To Adonis, the days where he and Argent played songs on the hill were of pure bliss. He values them greatly and the world Argent showed him. He cherished it, and he also cherished Argent which was why he was nearly broken when Argent disappeared.

"Adonis, are you here?" Arata opened the door to the rooftop as Adonis was recalling the days of their past.

"Something wrong, Argent?" He asked with a smile.

"Nothing much." Arata answered and sat beside Adonis. "I was just thinking, of maybe playing an old song for old times sake."

Adonis patted his head and smiled. Adonis held his flute and played but Arata shook his head. It wasn't that song that Arata wanted to sing. Adonis, who knew which song to play next smiled and patted his head.

As a gentle melody was played on the flute, the song was heard throughout the school and everyone paused to listen. As the melody played throughout the school, Arata began to sing.

"In that case, what shall I offer to a land that has no grave? To this land, where memories abound." Arata began to sing, the lyrics were different from the one the two originally played but Adonis didn't stop playing. He trusted Arata. "On the distant hill, a love song for you who have been seperated, a memory has been left for us."

"A love song of long past, a bond that overcomes time. Oh precious blue, I sing this long song to you, no matter how far apart we may be, know I'll be by your side till the end." Arata began to sing and as the song reached its final song, he continued to sing. "No matter how long, no matter how far apart we may be, I'll definitely find my way, back to you."

Adonis smiled and as Arata sat back down beside him. As Arat smiled and gazed to the sky, Adonis vowed that this time, he wouldn't lose that which was precious to him.
