I open my eyes and see that there's a person in front of me. A young man. Is that William? No, it's him when we first met. I soon realize that I'm seeing things through Andrew's eyes.
"Hey Andrew, I have a younger brother now." His voice said.
"Really?" He asked. "Auntie's pregnant?"
"No. It's an adopted brother. I saved him but he has no memory of who he was so we decided to take him in." He said. "One day, I want you to meet him too."
"Thanks. I want to meet him one day too." Andrew answered.
'A younger brother who can make William so happy and human. I want to meet him.' Andrew's thoughts filled my head. 'I want to meet the person who gave my best friend life again.'
I come to and realize that I'm in my room. I look around and notice that the others are absent. Good. I want to think about things for a bit. If I saw Andrew it means that there's something about to happen to him. But what?
The door opens and Andrew enters the room. Before I can say anything he closes the door and sits down beside me.
"How are you feeling?" He asked.
"I'm fine." I answered. "What happened after that?"
"Zhen's Crest changed." He said. "Six kites. Hey, can I ask you something?"
"Sure." I answered.
"For you and Will, am I helpful?" He asked. "Has Will ever mentioned me to you before?"
I pause for a moment to remember but realize Will hardly ever talked about himself.
"No. William never told me anything about him except for the things the public knows." I answered. "Friends weren't among them. But he has hinted them every now and then."
"Hey Arata. Thanks." He said and smiled. "For coming into Will's life and bringing him light."
"You really care about William." I said and smiled.
"Well, I am one of his few friends." He said and patted my head. "I'll go call the others."
"Thanks." I said.
After dinner I went straight to bed since I was exhausted and I had a dream, no, maybe a vision. Andrew being forced by someone to do different things. I don't get it till I see the man clearly. Andrew's father. Could there be something wrong between him and his father?
"Andrew, you will leave Wings Academy and study at Business School. I want you to stop this stupid dream of being a Hero." His fathered said in a harsh tone. "You'll stop and become someone our family can be proud of instead of doing such a foolish and dangerous job."
"B-but father-" Before he could answer his father slammed his hand down onto the table.
"No buts! You will be obedient and do as I say!!" His father roared and left, shutting the door tightly behind him. "You are the first born and only son, if you die who will give us a successor?!"
'I won't leave that easily father.' Andrew's thought passed in my mind. 'I've finally met the person who saved my life and the one who gave him life, I'm going to do everything I can for them.'
Suddenly the world changes again and I'm infront of a locked room. A young boy has himself huddled up and crying.
"It's... fine, as long... as I stay here... I won't... hurt anyone..." The faint, sobbing voice of the child said and I realized it was Andrew.
Just then, the door bursts open and the voice of another child called out his name.
"Andrew!!" William's voice.
"William?" Andrew raised his head and I saw William as a child.
His left arm was in a sling, he has lots of bandages and injuries and I can see the bandages on his head.
"Don't come... near me!!" Andrew shouted. "I-I'm a... monster!! This power... isn't a power of a hero!!"
"Don't say that, you idiot!" William said as he hit Andrew's head with his. "We can train together, till we can master our powers."
"Y-you still want to be... friends with me?" Andrew asked in disbelief.
"Yeah. From now, we're brothers-im-arms!!" William said and smiled.
"O-okay..." Andrew answered and took William's outstretched hand.
I wake up to a new day after that. Andrew's father disproves of him being a Brave. His forcing Andrew to leave our school despite Andrew's wishes. Andrew wants to stay. He joined school because he looks up to William who saved him and therefore wants to be useful to him. But, there's something about his father... a strange feeling I can't shake.
"Arata, you awake?" William called out.
"Y-yeah. Hey William, can I talk to you for a sec." I answered him.
"What's wrong?" He said as he came into our room.
"Have you... ever met Andrew's father?" I asked.
"I have once." He answered and sat down beside my bed. "Why?"
"What is he like?" I asked.
"Andrew's father... is a stubborn and difficult person who thinks of power and money as the summit of life." He said and looked at me. "Arata, is it possible, that this time something is wrong with Andrew?"
I hesitate to tell him what I saw because I don't want to give him any more problems but after a bit of coaxing he gets the truth from me.
"I see. Andrew's father disapproves of him being a Brave." He said. "Don't worry. Leave it to big brother. I'll deal with it."
"William, thanks but no thanks." I answered and got up. "Andrew has helped me out once, it's my turn to return the favour."
"Alright then. But you can always seek help from me." He said and ruffled my hair.
After classes that day I searched for Andrew and find him sitting underneath an oak tree outside the library.
"Hey, mind if I sit here?" I asked nodding to the spot beside him.
"Sure." He smiled.
"What are you looking at?" I asked him.
"That. Aren't the clouds beautiful?" He said and pointed to the sky which was a sky blue hue.
"Yeah. Very much." I answered as I looked at the beautiful clear blue skies with puffy white clouds floating about.
"So, what brings you here?" He asked. "No need to answer. Did you see something about me?"
"Not really. I'm just curious about the kind of people William keeps by his side." I answered. "William never told me much about himself you see."
"Sounds like him." He said. "So, what do you want to know?"
"I want to know about Andrew. About his way of life." I said with a smile.
"Okay then. My way of life is to follow where the wind takes me." He said. "I'm the Brave of the Wind after all."
"Oh, I didn't know that." I said.
"When I was younger I ended up hurting Will with my power." He said and I think it must've been when I saw that memory. "So, what else do you want to know?"
"All the things you like and dislike." I answered.
As I learned more about Andrew I couldn't help but be happy. To know more about someone who my friend cares for so much. All I can say is that, I'm thankful William has someone like him by his side.
