Chapter 7 - Contract

It took 3 days for all the animals, besides the ones with the mental affinity, to learn how to use [Elemental Breath].

Unfortunately, none of the housepets were even given the opportunity to learn it because you have to be, at the very least, at Realm 2 to use any skills.

Delaina herself was at realm 7, increasingly close to realm 8.

When comparing herself to the mortal populace of Earth, Delaina was an utter genius. There was unlikely to be many who could cultivate as fast as she could, let alone faster.

Going outside, Delaina was happy to see her herbs were growing well, all having absorbed the abundant qi in the air.

Plants were different from humans. Plants would naturally absorb qi from the air but without enough of it, they would never turn into true spiritual herbs.

Because nobody was utilising the qi on earth, the heavens deemed it as a waste for such an abundant amount of qi to exist within its atmosphere, so they cut off the supply and moved it to let it flow to other worlds.

When cultivation becomes popular, the heavens will notice it and, whether they like it or not, they will have to allow the supply to return. When this happens, the natural plant life will mutate and attain elemental properties, many would even gain sentience.

When that happens, there will be magical forests, just like in the books.

Maintaining the herbs was one of her favorite things to do. The herbs seemed to lean towards her as she watered them, singing a little song.

She was hoping that they would be the first plants to gain sentience. She would raise them from the little guys they were now to beings with a human form. As she had raised them personally, they would think of her as their mother, hence she would not need a contract to ensure their loyalty.

After making sure the herbs were in their best condition, she picked up a little caterpillar that was munching on a leaf. Taking the misty orb out of her pocket, she touched the little guy with it and saw he had an affinity with water.

Smiling lightly, she took him inside and walked up to the contract platform. She decided to personally make a contract with this little guy.

Standing on the platform, she held the little caterpillar on one finger and waited. Soon, a small stone formed on her forehead and the bug's face, falling off and landing on the podium.

The smaller stone melted into a pool of light while the larger one melted into multiple colors: Purple, gold, green and clear.

This was another reason why she was so powerful; she had 4 natural afirities. Lightning, Light, Wood and Mental.

Actually, when Delaina reached Realm 20 and became a goddess, she was only 12 years old.

She was already short growing up, and after reaching the 10th Realm, your body stops developing, leaving her incapable to continue growing.

By the time she was in the heavens, she was already used to being so short, so when they offered to give her a pill that would age her physical body by 10 years, she had denied it. It wasn't so bad being the size of a five year old child in heaven, it made people respect her more, knowing that she was a prodigy.

But she didn't realise one thing, though. It would make people oppress you.

It took her 10 years to reach realm 20. How much of a genius was that?!

It took most people hundreds, if not thousands of years, to get that far. Even the most talented people would take about 50 years.

If she was already this powerful now… if they continued to let her develop freely, what would she become?

More powerful than they were, obviously. And they sure couldn't have that.

That was when the word of how she was a thief, scammer, murdering try-hard who used an evil method of cultivating went around.

People no longer looked at her in admiration, only disgust. She was lucky if she could walk on the streets in peace.

If it was a bad day, she would even get beaten up or have glass thrown at her for things she had never even done.

Eventually, she ran. She ran and ran and ran until… she had no money left to run with.

And so, she started to take up her title. She scammed people and stole things. Though she did kill people, who in the heavens didn't?

Eventually, she was caught.

The judge had been biased against her because of the rumors that had been circulating. Coupled with the bribes from a few gods who had been on the receiving end of her scams, she was given the heaviest sentence- other than death.

Her cultivation was stripped and she was cast down to the mortal world. To many, this was a punishment worse than death.

Additionally, she was given the task of introducing cultivation to people. They wanted her to do it with as few casualties as possible.

Another thing was that even if she reached the 20th realm once more, even after undergoing tribulation, unless she reached the 30th realm, she would never be able to ascend again.

She would be forever stuck in this world of mortals where she must protect them for the rest of her lifespan, lest she wishes to face the tribulation of heavenly punishment that is equal to the ascension lightning of the 30th realm.

And after all that, she wouldn't even get paid for it.

Reaching the 30th realm of cultivation shouldn't be too hard for her. Afterall, it only took her 10 years to reach 20.

She had an idea, one that made her snicker just thinking of it.

After her 30th ascension lightning, she would choose… to not ascend.

Instead, she would cultivate until the 50th realm, where she would tear through time and space itself, forcefully bending reality to her will and find another world, one without cultivation, just like Earth, and make it her own.

She would govern it until she created a champion or two. After that, she would continue until she was satisfied.

By then, she would be at realm 80 at the very least.

She would create her own planet of which all of her champions would reside. They would help her to govern her worlds.

And when she reached Realm 100, she would wage a heavenly war.

Her ambitions were strong, and she knew that. But it was possible. Nothing was impossible.

And after the heavens was hers to command, leaving a successor to stand in her place, she would cultivate to the 101st realm, where you are granted the ability to visit the Origin.

The Origin was where all exist and yet nothing resides. It is a place for the all-powerful with nowhere to go, to wander.

They come and go as they please, not interfering with the affairs of the mortal world.

Living their lives in… Peace.

Peace, the only thing that Delaina wanted- other than revenge, was simply peace.

And so she would have it, whether the high gods liked it or not.
